Usually I am all about the food, but there were a couple of misses about this place that compromised my impression of it. The food was definitely better than your average yakitori - the hotate scallop had lots of char, the chicken fillets and breasts were tender, the chicken wings were expertly done, and even the salad was good. Special shoutout to the chicken liver pate as well. It was quite a light meal even at the end of the omakase. We got both the chicken and chicken and beef omakases to try. The difference between the two was $30 and it consists of three extra beef dishes - the beef tongue, the tataki and beef skewers which are all really not that great - the beef was overcooked and dry in the tataki and beef skewers, and it felt like a little bit of a rip off for $30. I guess the thing was that we were not aware of that they are only serving omakase menus for dinner, and we had to pick one of the omakases - which means that to order ala carte, we had to order on top of the menu. The chicken omakase was $60ish++ and they also charge an obscene amount of money for water ($8 for a bottle of water) - not the kind of price range for water you would expect from such a casual place. All in all, for a party of 4, the bill was over $500 which I thought was ridiculous.

Had the $98++ course which was the $60++ course with add on beef dishes. Most of the sticks were focused on chicken and while the texture between the different chicken parts were different, I felt that there was a ceiling for the chicken taste. The chicken were also not glazed with much sauce hence you are really tasting the chicken. The shop isn't very big and can fit about 6 people at the counter and another 4 pax at a separate table. Do note that you have to take off your shoes to enter the restaurant, which has a carpet floor.

It is a hidden gem. Spent a good 1 hour with my wife. The place can only serve up to 4 ppl due social distancing. Chef Eric is very delicate explaining to us the serving and seasoning, there was an assistant that is very nice, guiding us how to enjoy the food better too. The portions looked small but they filled out our stomach. They Yokitori was amazing and the experience is superb!

Came here for weekday dinner, not crowded and hole in the wall yakitori at orchard plaza. Quite a basic set up with small counter thay seats up to 8 pax. Also some small table seating. Not an obvious place to go to from the outside, as the entrance is located right next to the entrance to the basement carpark where not many pedestrians will walk past usually. This place was recommended by a friend. Initially I thought they serve both omakase and ala carte but upon arrival discovered that ala carte is only available from 10pm. Both food and service were good. The yakotori is done by one chef with some help from the assistant for dishes that do not need to be grilled. There are only 2 types of omakase to choose from - normal and premium, latter comprising of more wagyu beef dishes for $98++ compared to normal set at $78++. Each set comes with 5 kinds of appetiser and 10 kinds of yakitori dishes. Honestly i'm not a big eater and had problems making it to the last dish... but I really enioyed the quality ingredients such as scallop, unagi and meats. My only gripe would be that the sake bottles are quite ex. Nothing priced below $100. We ended up getting other drinks like beer and highballs.

Booked for dinner . Place is not easy to find but entrance is along cavengah road. Ordered the Omakase, we got 10 sticks of yakitori, soup , small rice bowl of either oyaoko don or mince chicken don. We were served 4 type of appetiser , the liver pate and cream cheese was too strong for me . Loved the salad with chicken gizzard n the dressing was refreshing .b Special Call outs to the grilled scallop , Tskune chicken ball serve with raw egg dip, grilled chicken heart , chicken breast with wasabi, grilled chicken wing. Good selection of sake too .

The yakitori omakase experience was pleasant and very filling, surprisingly. You might wonder, "how full can you get eating skewers?" Well, we are talking about maybe 5 appetizers, 10 skewers and other in between. So would recommend wearing something more comfortable and it might get a little warm (but cozy) as the chef would be cooking in front of you. Food wise it tastes amazing, I've never had chicken fillet that is as tender and soft like fish. Overall a very pleasant experience that isn't too damaging to the wallet. Current promo price for Chicken omakase is $78++ while beef omakase is $98++. I had both.

Truly the best yakitori shop in terms of taste and service. It has a very warm and welcoming feel to the place. The boss knows 7 languages - Japanese, English, Mandarin, Yunnan Dialect, Thai, Burmese and a Karen language. Amazing!

This is a super quaint, small, hole in the wall yakitori joint that I have been going to for some time now. Helmed by Eric, who worked several years in Japan, is the smiley and soft spoken man behind the charcoal grill, ever so polite and accommodating. Call to reserve a spot. It’s only a 10 seater. This place delivers an Omakase menu. No pork here. So it’s chicken or beef options. There are 2 menus which is the one with or without beef. Eric grills it all really well. The bonjiri and tsukune are my stars. The starters are always changing but his most recent creations are pretty good. Pair it with some of his kubotas he has. Perfect.

Shikkoku! Upon meeting ultra-humble Sumiyaki Master Chef Eric, we were seated at the closest table to the door - super cosy and envoking images of intimate Izakaya eating in urban Japan. My companion and I were looking for refreshment and opted for a Coedo Shikkoku to quench our thirst. This smooth mega-malty brew was like the prelude, the kiss, and the aftermath all rolled into one dark jewel of elegance. We had the beef set, and it definitely elevates above the chicken-only so would recommend that. The quartet begins a soft ’n’ subtle palate tease; followed by stronger notes of just cooked beef and chicken where the proteins shine; and finally the silky luxury decadence of the egg dish is the perfect crescendo to a delectable dining experience at Fukuda. In a world where one cannot visit Japan (but maybe soon?) this is the closest thing to fine yakitori dining.

I didn’t notice it’s omekase before booking. Would appreciate the restaurant informs me over chat. It s $80 for the set, including 10 skewers, starter, 2 salad and a rice. A lot of food! Overall good meal, like all the skewers we had.

July 2022: Amazing tiny hole in the wall yakitori. Chef right in front of you. They are so nice and attentive and the food is amazing. Come hungry as the set menu is huge. Great drink selection too

Decent yakitori. For $68++ , u get a few appertizers, 10 sticks of yakitori, chicken soup and a donburi. As this place is a true yakitori place , do not expect beef, pork or lamb here. Majority of the dishes are Tori..... Chicken. Might be but pricey for some as well.....

Recently had the pleasure of dining at Fukuda Yakitori in Singapore, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The selection of skewers was truly delectable, and what stood out for me was the authentic yakitori experience they offered. The commitment to using high-quality ingredients was evident in the succulent and well-seasoned grilled meats, creating a taste that left a lasting impression. The cozy ambiance and friendly service added to the overall positive dining experience, making Fukuda Yakitori a must-visit for anyone craving traditional Japanese skewers in the heart of Singapore.

It's really hole in the wall restaurant, which sits 6pax due to safe distancing. Chef Eric has almost 30 years of experience and it shows in his dedicated preparation for his diners.

Fun little yakitori place with a super nice chef/owner. It really reminds me of being back in Tokyo. Lots of food, amazing chicken and beef. My 3rd time here and very consistent quality. Good sake list too. Ate too quickly and didn’t get many pictures tho 😩
