Our table reservation was 7pm. At 720pm, we still had to wait and attract the attention of staff to take our order. It seemed that there was only 2-3 staff attending to patrons who were seated at the patio. All the 5 tables at the patio had to repeatedly wave our hands to the waitresses. Manpower shortage on a Thursday night at dinner timing 7pm onwards. When it was finally our turn to place orders, of course we were there for crabs and wanted to order 3 mud crabs (1 in chilli and 2 white jade) only to be informed that they ran out of mud crabs (at 715pm?!?!?) and we were forced with no other choice but to order the more expensive (and less meaty) dungeoness crab or Alaska crab!!!! Still astonished by their business ethics. Even my teenager kids don’t want to go back there for crabs ever again. Too bad for us, Jumbo Dempsey was fully booked till 830pm by the time we were told that there’s no more mud crab at Long Beach Dempsey at 745pm. We were there to celebrate a birthday btw… and never will. Look at the photos ~ mediocre except for the dungeoness crab which were NOT by OUR choice. Total bill $558.84 which can be better spent elsewhere for 3 crabs.

Oh this restaurant is a place with good ambience especially at night. Surrounded by trees and arrangements of those lights are romantic. For me this restaurant serves best Crabs in Singapore. Personally don’t like the Chili Crab but their Pepper Crab was so nice. I almost couldn’t stop eating till it’s gone. If you have guests from over seas or if you are tourists, I suggest To choose this restaurant.

I had a minor injury in my right hand a few days after arriving in Singapore, making it difficult to maneuver the crab shell properly. As a result, I took a little break on the experience of indulging in black pepper crab during my trip. However, on the last day before leaving Singapore, I decided to dine at Long Beach DEMPSEY based on its excellent online reviews and recommendations from friends. I arrived at the restaurant promptly at 11 am when the doors opened. Eager to savor some local delicacies, I ordered Kangkong, Black Pepper Crab, and Sweet Yam Paste for dessert. To my pleasant surprise, my server, Sheleth, informed me that they could assist with the shelling process. This was a welcome relief, as it allowed me to enjoy the crab without worrying about my injured hand. However, I look forward to crack the crab shell with my own hands in a few weeks, as it adds an element of fun and somehow enhances the taste of the dish—both in terms of food and life itself. The Kangkong and Black Pepper Crab lived up to my expectations, delivering delightful flavors that satisfied my palate. The service at Long Beach DEMPSEY was attentive and helpful, and I couldn't have asked for a better server than Sheleth. The bill for my lunch came to around USD$110, which I found to be good considering the quality of the food and the overall dining experience. In conclusion, Long Beach DEMPSEY is a fantastic restaurant offering a wide range of delicacies. While I stuck to my usual favorites for the sake of comparison among different seafood establishments in Singapore, this restaurant undoubtedly ranks among the top-notch options. If you like spicy seafood, give it a try. Bon appétit!

Expatriates hotspot. Atmospheric location. Food is very tasty but also only for people with deep pockets. Multiple options for crab types and flavours. The chili crabs that I ordered come with huge arms. Their mango dessert is great too. Reservations strongly recommended, touristy restaurant too. Parking is free but limited during peak hours.

Delicious seafood at one of my favorite Seafood restaurants in Singapore. The food, the service and the ambience is lovely. We loved the freshness of the seafood and the flavours were amazing. The razor clams were delicious & so was the wasabi prawns. The crispy fish was stunningly delicious. We also ordered some chicken satay, which was juicy and nice. The crab meat sauce was perfect and were perfectly paired with the fried buns. I had a gin and tonic, which was refreshing.

We came here for the dinner gathering with our friends from Taiwan, they love the chilli crabs the most, which tastes so different from what they can get there especially with the fried bread. The view from the private room is very good so all of like the ambience here.

TERRIBLE. Waiting in the "reservation" queue at the moment. The reservation was for 8pm.... it is now 8:18pm. Plus, the area smells like the restroom. 🤧 Update: Ended up getting a table only at 8:24pm. Service after was alright. If it were up to me, i wouldn't choose to eat here. $486 just for 6 adults and a kid (who barely ate) just wasn't worth it. The food was just average... 🤔 Oh. And the plates on the table had dust on them. 😟 They also charged for 7 wet towels, when we only had 6 of them. Only thought to check after reading another reviewer's post about that.

Excellent cooking and lovely outdoor ambience, IF the weather (rarely) permits. We had the salted egg mud crabs. About 1kg for one. Absolutely epic. The Shandong marble goby was good too. The rest of the dishes were above par. The only downer is the sequence of the dishes being served. The crab came second out of 7 dishes. How would you eat crab first and then the others? The excuse given was the kitchen got busy. I was there with family at 530pm and there were 2-3 tables seated. Huh? Anyway, overall top notch food. If they improved the service/customer experience, it would have been easily a 5

Somehow felt that the food is lacking in flavour Vs their east coast branch. Hot fun was good but the prawns were overcooked. Fish was fresh but it wasn't sweet at all. Somehow everything was lacking the final touch. Service was slow but to be fair it is a busy place. Ambience is really great at the Dempsey outlet.

Came here on a Saturday night upon reservation. Really hard to come here by foot and the foot path was quite dark by 730pm Atmosphere was amazing with outdoor seating surrounded by high ceilings and fairy lights. Indoors was nicely air-conditioned and very lovely interior. Highlight was definitely the Crab. The meat comes out of the shell very easily and presentation was very pretty. Deep fried white bait and fried baby sotong was good too. Overall food wise is pretty okay. Not spectacular for its price point. But a good treat.

Food is delicious and the free corkage is a plus. Waiting time for the food during peak hours is slightly on the long side. Overall experience will be excellent if this can be improved

Update for restaurant: I think it's highly irresponsible to push the responsibility to customer to report unstatisfying service. It is not my job to assess your staff, so I will not be contacting you with any names. I do not wish to get any staff in trouble, I think everyone deserves second chance. I suggest you speak to your staff in the next meeting/training and implement some form of rubrics and assessment for your managers to carry out. --- Nice ambience with great seafood dishes. We came here because it's one of the very few pet-friendly Asian restaurants (outdoor seats). Would have given a 5 stars review if not for the uncomfortable service. Service staff purposefully ignored us and gave us a perfunctory wave after I raised my volume more to get her attention. It took a really long time to get any attention. We ordered crabs but I didn't know it should come with plastic gloves and water bowls for hand washing. Staff seemed very attentive to foreign looking customers and prepared everything for them including a bib, also very on task with filling up their glasses with alcohol. Compliments to the chef for creating beautiful and delish dishes but I would very unlikely return for more, mainly because of the unpleasant service.

Good food and service. We had a private room. Service was great. Food was excellent. Every dish was good. The dishes we had were bamboo clam steamed with garlic and vermicelli, Alaskan crabs 🦀, steamed fish, local spinach cooked in 3 types of eggs and a coconut ice cream dessert.

The Alaskan crab was good. Sweet and nicely cooked. Among the better ones we had so far. Special mention Manager Priscilla Chan who paid attention to our order such that we did not over do it. Great advise. General consensus among us was that we had it just right in a relaxing ambience.

have been coming here since i was a kid. the service is great. recommend the white pepper crab and the dong bo pork ribs. (you must specifically ask for the ribs as it’s not on the menu). it can smell quite fishy sitting near the live seafood but it’s all part of the experience, seeing alaskan crabs try to climb their way out 🤣 the garlic broccoli dish was $30 for one floret, please have your fill of veg before coming..

Went for chili crab and other fresh seafood delights. This is one of the few places that serves chili crab during lunch time. Unfortunately, chili crab wasn’t as good as the memory, but the razor clams, fish, tofu and veggie were all excellent and everything was super fresh. Heads up, this area is a higher dollar area so dishes are priced accordingly. There are also quite a few stairs to climb to get to the restaurant if you approach from the front.

We ordered the Alaskan king crab for 4 persons cooked in their famous black pepper style. The food overall was good and it came out fast with the exception of the last main dish- Irish roast duck- After waiting a long time we asked about it and it was discovered our duck was served to another table. It was reordered again for us. The black pepper flavour was too much black pepper and spicy for my taste. It was like too much black pepper on your food. Perhaps it would be more balanced if the crab was served with the fried rice instead of after. Portions are fairly small. It should be noted that at the restaurant, you are charged for the peanuts (tidbits on the bill) given to you upon seating and also for cold tap water. It seems to be a common occurrence to be charged for tap after at restaurants in Singapore

Chilli crab and black pepper crab were really good and authentic as this is the original Long Beach location. Bit of a language barrier communicating with the servers but still got our order correct - would recommend mud crab for the Chilli and Princess crab for the black pepper. The man tou was fried perfectly. Would recommend going with more people so you can try more seafood dishes!

Had a lovely experience at Long Beach Dempsey with my husband. We ordered Sambal Kang Kong, Chilli Crab and oysters. Service was friendly and attentive, food was wonderful. We were very pleased with the freshness and meatiness of the crab. We recommend Long Beach Dempsey and would be keen to try their signature black pepper crab next time.

Certainly one of the better Chilli crab and seafood places in Dempsey. We had a private room which made the atmosphere pleasant to eat and enjoy. Otherwise grab a table outside and enjoy the air Like and follow for more amazing places to see and visit around the World

Exceptional service by the staff here. Their attentivenees made me feel like a king even though we didn’t order that many items. The dungeness crab mee hoon ($98) was delicious and in big portion. Will be back to try the dim sum, which the staff was desperately hard-selling (not in an annoying way) during our time there.

  • 5/5 Marcus T. 2 years ago on Google
Had the delivery menu, had both the mud crab and Dungeness crab both are really fresh and of great quality, size is also very big. The drunken prawn is also very fresh and tasty. Great place for seafood if you are looking at quality. Delivery arrived on time, ordered 5-6pm and order arrive 4:55pm.

Very good dining place with friendly staff. Highly recommend the white pepper crab and chilli crab. The tofu is also very nice. The prawn was a little wet that lost the crispy bite.

  • 5/5 Chili P. 9 months ago on Google
I was pleasantly surprised by the experience here after not so good experiences at the ECP branch. White jade mud crab was the highlight of the meal - it's a creamy, flavorful kind of sauce with maybe a hint of pumpkin and salted egg yolk. Very good signature deshelled prawn as well. Braised crab bee hoon was also quite enjoyable, with the cooking style allowing for juicier crab meat. There were one or two pesky houseflies which was annoying but the service was very attentive and they provided candles to ward off the flies. The servers also helped to crack up the crab shells further for us, and they were very skilled at it indeed. Had the mango sago pomelo dessert which was delicious but very small.

We had the pepper crab and the spicy chili shrimp, some green vegetables and fried rice and a bottle of sake. THE PERFECT MEAL! Loved the room, with a whole wall of aquariums full of fresh crabs and lobsters. I’ll go back for sure!

Kinda disappointing. Abalone ain’t fresh n taste is like Bambo clams garlic steam while chilli crab sauce is more of lukewarm with “princess snowcrab”. Service was way off compared to last time. I miss my old Kallang brunch! Food Quality B Quantity A Service B-

As we love crab we had high expectations and we weren’t disappointed. Nice location and a bustling restaurant, we were glad to have booked ahead. We started off with the ‘live’ (unshelled) cooked prawns and the fried shelled prawns with dry chilli both of which were very tasty followed up by the ‘Princess chilli crab’ and the famous ‘Black pepper mud crab’ which were both spectacular with loads of flavour and plenty of meat. I thoroughly recommend to have the bread rolls as well to dip in the chilli sauce. Prepare to get ‘dirty’ though and I thoroughly recommend the gloves and apron provided. All washed down with a tiger beer and a bottle of Sauternes. Altogether a real experience and we didn’t come away hungry!

My favourite seafood restaurant ever!! I always order their Alaskan crab with their famous white pepper sauce. It’s sooooo fresh and meaty. Their man tous are a must-have with the white pepper sauce. Although the Alaskan crab might be a little bit on the pricier side, it’s so worth it.

The food was great, the shrimp, crab were fatty and juicy, and the fish was soft and has a good flavours. The chicken is tender and the skin was crispy, but I need to add salt per my liking. Fruit juices were also freshly made.

Solid Cantonese seafood and dim sum. The fish tanks are filled with quality seafood from all over the world. Black pepper crab is a must along with the laksa and prawn. Service is friendly and very helpful with suggestions. My favorite dish was the silverfish fried rice. It sounds simple but cooked perfectly!

Seafood lovers, check out @longbeachseafood current promo - Two Live Canadian Lobsters at 💵89++! 🎉 The lobster meat is fresh and succulent, see pic 2! We had it in Golden Stripe style, which tastes a little similar to cereal but it’s not cereal. Slightly sweet and enhances the lobster’s taste. Other dishes we had: 💎Princess Crab with Bee Hoon 💵98++ The crab leg and claw are sweet, see pic 5 and 6! Reminds me of snow crab. The bee hoon soaks up the savoury broth, so yummy! 💎Baked Pumpkin Pie 💵3.80++ Shaped like mini pumpkins, so cute! Love the QQ mochi-like skin, and the mushroom and prawn fillings. 💎Drunken Prawn with Herbal Soup 💵32++ Fresh and firm prawns! Love the flavourful soup too. Didn’t feel thirsty after drinking 👍🏻 📣If you find my above review helpful, check out my IG @samlivestoeat for more foodie reviews! 🥰

Ordered online. Delivery on time. Package was well done. Zero spill. Crabs were great, same great taste. Spinach with eggs were really good with strong seafood flavor. Bamboo clams were the larger version and they were meaty, garlic was plenty and flavor. Seafood fried rice was well balanced. Yee mian was average. 青龙菜 was a must order vegetable. Toufu was soft and sauce and it’s condiments were great.

Was here for my dad’s birthday and was totally impressed by the quality of food and the service! The restaurant was crowded but the main waiter who was serving us still spoke to us so patiently and never rushed us. Food was amazing too and the Alaskan crab was definitely the highlight of the meal.

I'm not a super regular customer at Long Beach Dempsey but my company is. We usually booked private room when we have celebrations, and go there for dinner. 8 months ago, we're there. The service was not that fantastic when we were being served. And this year CNY dinner, my table received the same service like 8 months ago. We are kinda disappointed....

Mostly alfresco sitting. It is a very big place. Ambience at night is nice but since it's alfresco style, the plates might get a little dirty. Food is great. Black pepper crab is amazing. And so is the fried rice. Service is good but at times a bit slow because there's too many customers but limited staff.

We had seafood lunch here on a Wednesday noon. Ordered set menu cost $298 for 3-4 pax. 4 of us and we finished everything. It was just enough for us. Some of the dishes can be chosen (not a fixed item). Example, duck, beef or chicken. We chose roast duck. Food was good. We ordered chilli crab with fried bun. Their buns were delicious especially dipped into chilli crab. This set consists of razor clam, prawn, duck, crab and veggie. Service was good but a little chaotic when we arrived. Waited more than 15 minutes for the waiter to attend to us. They open at 12pm and we booked at 12pm, perhaps still preparing. Phone was ringing nonstop and no body attended it too. Dempsey is nice and relaxing place but not ideal if raining. Grab a taxi to travel here or someone drops you off because no MRT station or bus stop. Total bill was $360.16. Bill and menu as per photos. Highly recommended to make a reservation.

Usually go to the one at East Coast but this one had a better atmosphere. Food was good, seafood items were all perfectly cooked. Was there on a weekend and service felt rushed because they don't seem to have enough staff. Has to be clearing plates on our own (from all the shells) as the service in that was very slow. Had to leave the private room several times to look for things I needed - dry paper towels etc. Could have set up a service station in the room itself with more items to lessen the hassle. Staff were friendly and polite though. 👍 ps: did not have the creamy lobster but asked the staff there about it and she said it's highly recommended, took a pic so I'd remember to order it the next time I return.

The star of the day ,Alaska King crab cook with white pepper is legit good. Follow by the lobster, deer meat with spring onions was good too. 3points that can be improved… -long waiting time for the food to be served. Came in at 7:30pm finish our food at 9:30pm. If you’re hungry like us do take note, we are all fast eaters but is just very slow. -fresh oysters not as fresh as we expected -the salted veg fish soup is very very salty do remember to order rice to have it together. Lastly we enjoy our meal with private room minimum spending is $500+ to have ur own room. Price overall 7dish 1 dessert for 4pax: $650++

The Chilli crab is the ultimate signature dish and it does not disappoint. The flavours are plentiful and the freshness is just sublime. You get what you pay for and it’s quality. Superb to go with friends or special occasions. A must try if you are a tourist or non-tourist. Great setting too and layout. They do lack staff so be patient.

Crab braised beehoon : 4.5/5 Tasty with flavourful sauce and the mud crab was big enough to contain the sauce Butter jade crab: 4.9/5 A good alternative for those who like to dip sauce into mantou but can’t take spicy like the chilli crab Amazing taste and we love this max Only -0.1 is if the crab is not warm, the sauce will be coagulated and not so yummy Seafood youtiao: 4.3/5 The size is good with the seafood paste nothing extraordinary but definitely worth a try De shelled prawn: 4.5/5 Freshness of prawn is not covered and it’s so good! Service by the staffs during lunch time is amazing! Very attentive and helpful One lacking point: Toilet is mixed gender and it gets dirty very easily. The restaurant wasn’t crowded but toilet is so dirty by 1.30pm

Literally the worst dining experience of my life. Server taking our order actually yelling over me to upsell dishes in my face. No water until we asked specifically for it. No napkins until we specifically asked for it. Charged us for two wet napkins when we used one. Watermelon juice came in a tiny glass and costs $7 which would’ve been fine if it was good, but tasted like pure rind juice. Their “signature” black pepper crab was overpriced and tasted nothing like crab because the pepper flavor was so strong. They could’ve just cooked me the same sauce on chicken and charged me $10 instead. Pea shoots just mid. Cherry on top was the fried rice had a hair in it. It’s fine it happens, maybe it slipped out of a cook’s hairnet. We called attention to it and they promised another one. Funny enough, THE SECOND PLATE HAD A HAIR IN IT TOO. The server was incredulous and we only got an apology at the bill lol. We asked them to not send us any more fried rice as we were done with our meal, gonna go home and get some takeout from grab.
