I booked online since it looked like a good deal, should have known that there was a catch. I had to pay a deposit almost 3 times as much as the cost of the room itself! The actual room was decent and clean but If you value any kind of privacy then I would avoid this establishment. My room had a camera pointed directly on my door. I had a guest who was there for maybe 10 minutes before he got a call from work and had to leave in a hurry (military). Immediately afterward I get a call from the front desk telling me that they were going to keep my deposit ($150) since he didn't register in the office before he left. He didn't even let me try to explain the circumstances. I felt like it was not right so I left a bad review similar to this one. Within a few minutes of me posting it the manager or whoever that guy working the front counter came pounding on my door. I'm a single woman traveling solo who suddenly found myself in a situation where I didn't feel safe. I opened the door partway with the security latch engaged and asked if I could help him. He threatened to kick me out on the spot if I didn't delete the review immediately. I was a little bit scared so I complied. The next morning before I checked out I had one of my friends come by to help me pack up and we were going to go get coffee afterwards. The hotel already weaseled me out of my deposit and I was close to checking out so I didn't have my guest register at the front. Immediately after they arrived the room phone started ringing which I ignored. About 2 minutes later the manager comes pounding on my door and I said "hold on I'm not dressed", but he proceeded to try to enter my room. I know that a lot of hotels say that's their policy but I've never had anywhere so up my you know what about it before. That was the first and last time I'm ever staying there! End rant

A place to lay your head for a night. I could hear someone yelling next door to me. I feel like for a $120. a night you should have some breakfast, but NO and the first place I’ve ever stayed that required a deposit on top of paying for the room. It was my first and last time staying there. The manager himself told me it was a bad area when I was checking out. I didn’t know because I don’t live there and I booked the room on line. 🌹

Thank You Jay for being super knowledgeable in the business you work in and providing us with more than what we needed at our stay here. He was very friendly and ate rice to our needs, will be staying and recommending more here. Thank you.

First and foremost, this hotel is in an awful part of town. I never felt safe during my stay. The hotel room itself was clean, just outdated. Now during the 3 days I stayed there, I did not have a working toilet. I had 2 different employees (who were great) come and try to fix it but would not give me a new room. There was mold all over the bathroom ceiling which one employee refused to acknowledge and still refused to give me a new room. There was a lamp in the room that appeared to not be working, we got it plugged in and it came on, however when I went to use the switch to turn the lamp off it shocked me twice. They also do not have continental breakfast despite what their website says. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

rooms we're clean, but the bed was hard. there's no microwave in the rooms, but there is a fridge and a coffee pot. location is kinda sketchy, but better than most hotels in the area. Service was pretty good as check in was fast. they do want to see every ID of each guest and they give a parking pass to each car. and they call you at 10:20 to let you know check out is at 11. you also get a knock on your door at 10:30, which is kind of annoying. No smoking rooms.

I have now stayed there five times, its always the same result. Friendly staff, easy access to the hotel, clean bathroom and shower. Jay at the front desk is a very friendly person. I've never had any kind of problem while staying there. Great, great location!!!!!!!

This place is horrible. The people that work there do nothing but scam you out of money! I recently booked a 3 week stay here for my sister who is trying to find an apt in the area. We prepaid the full amount as well as a $100 deposit. My sister vapes. They never said anything about vaping, only smoking. She has been vaping outside and she was told couldn't in her room. Ok. The next morning she gets up and goes to work. After being at work a while she gets a call saying they can smell her vaping in her room. They harassed her at work about having to pay then another 100 dollars. She's now locked out of her room until she does so. She stayed here before, years ago (we thought management had changed) and they refused to give her her deposit back unless she washed her own towels! The told my sister she'll have to give them 100 whenever they decided she has to. It's insane! Paid over thousands to stay at this dirty place and they still want more!

Rooms we're not very well lit. Management seems to not exist as the only staff I was able to find were just the cleaning maids. Which barely cleaned the rooms as I was able to check my room with a black light and found numerous "stains" on the walls and the floor. Visiting family was great in Tacoma, as the weather is usually quite cold, but even trailing outside in the rain was better than sitting in this place for one more minute. Clean your place!

I liked it! Honestly was better then all the other hotels near by. Wish they had a pool. Rooms are amazing for the price!! I felt safer parking here then my last two hotels in Tacoma. Probably the best hotel deal in the city if you're vacationing in a budget!!

Dirty, mold in shower. Black chunks of grunge came up in the sink and would not go down. TV did not work. Dirty walls someone wrote on. Scary vibe in general. I left and paid for another hotel even though they refused to give me a refund. Never stay here. It was a lesson that cost me 125 bucks.

The gentleman at the front desk is awesome. Always willing to help and is very pleasant. The housekeeping is Great. I've stayed at expensive motels and this one rates far above them. Thank you for making my stay great

Clean and simple rooms. Smaller television than most. The bed and lounge chair were both comfortable. It was a little loud at times it being a weekend and all. DO NOT 🚭 MARIJUANA IN THE ROOMS. LOL.

Very friendly desk people. Rooms very clean. I did find it somewhat odd and unsanitary that the stove was in the bathroom. When they said kitchenette-- that's not what I imagined. And we had 2 rooms. I didn't u derstand why the 2 beds was 800 a week and the 1 bed w/ kitchenette was only 600..

The room is very clean and the cleaning company does a great job in the important details of the room - The “the value far exceeds the price” the area is “very quiet” compared to other areas of Lakewood and Tacoma - there are not people sleeping in cars in this area or tent people. The air does not have a “strange stench” The security is top notch and very secure for vehicles - The property is wrapped with a double fence around it. Tim Ketron Sr.

Stopped here on a road trip down the west coast. Served our needs fine, nothing more and nothing less. Jay was very friendly and give us some honest advice on the local area, which isn’t the greatest.

Visiting Tacoma we stayed here, it’s close to the base and places to eat. Hour away from Seattle, we made a day trip to the pier and hour a half away from mount Rainer. The rooms was clean, microwave and fridge in room. Front desk (Jay) was very knowledgeable about the area and friendly to talk with. Recommend the stay!

DO NOT COME HERE! Japanese guy managing the place was masterbating outside my window when I got out the shower & then he kept calling my room asking stupid questions so I left. Did not feel safe here!

tucked in where you can if not looking for it might not even know it was there. the location is quiet clean and well ran. the front desk is next level good at his job remembers you on return visits make you feel very welcome and being where it is makes me feel safer about parking in this city where that otherwise might be an issue. i would recommend this for service definitely for a quiet safe stay and while the rooms are a nit outdated they are in midst of renovations and in no time that will not be something to mention. in the South end this is by far my favorite spot i even call it my hideaway. it's very reasonable in price and tons of food spots shopping and groceries about 30 seconds to 2 minutes away depending which way you turn its in a very central location for convenience and comfort of not having to venture about in unknown areas getting lost and its also very close to 512 and I5 for anybody in a rush you have west to east and north south vice versa right around the corner for you. its the right choice im not paying outrageous amounts for a single night to be given basically the same accomodations and its in a way better area than 99%of everything else because they are all on hosmer st over here big names included and that per Capita in the most dangerous 20 block stretch in the United States currently so for me i will pass on that and come to safe well ran comfortable convenience with great pricing that i know will be waiting for at the place that lives uo to it's name in my humble opinion ... Americas BEST value inn..... you're welcome

Don't know anything about the rooms, but the reservation process was horrible. As I was making the reservation it switched dates on me and I didn't notice till after the reservation was made. No mercy or customer good will was shown by the hotel itself or by the reservation service. Even if I could I wouldn't stay there now.

When I was looking into a route I should take to the airport using public transportation, the guy working the desk just offered to find out what busses I needed to take and he followed through. The only thing I could think of that they could fix is just making the furniture a little more modern to make it look less like my grandmas house 😅. We were there for a week and we’re not at all disappointed.

I stayed here the first couple of days of the new year. As a Trucker looking for a place to stay for a 2 day layover I had found this place since it had somewhere to park a semi with a 53 foot trailer. I just wanted somewhere to shower and rest and this place did it for me. It has ample parking on the side on Halcyon rd. For 2 or semis. If you need a rest or a nice long shower this is definitely a place to go. It is mostly up to date although I wouldn't say old but dated looking by the exterior. Kind of gives you a nostalgic feeling with all the wood structure. The gentleman working the front desk was phenomenal. Constantly made sure I was either ok or if I needed anything it would be taken care of. I was able to check in, shower and do laundry no problem. Guest laundry is upstairs and stas locked needing a key to access. Washer and dryer all take 45 minutes at a cost of $1.75 per load. Plenty of vehicle parking both in the lot and in front of and the side of the Inn. What made the stay more enjoyable was the front desk guy who went out of his way to make sure everything was good and if I needed anything to either come get him or use the room phone to make contact. The room I had (Room 212) was spacious. Tv, microwave and mini fridge is enclosed in a small entertainment center. Flat screen tv mounted on the wall above that was great. Loveseat and coffee table next to the bed. The bathroom had planty of room and space. Very clean and smelled clean. No residual odor or smoke lingering smells. If you need food, there are a few places directly across the street, if they are closed there is a grocery outlet store about a 5-7 min. Walk up the road. They definitely have everything you need. Ready eat meals, hygiene and cosmetic supplies, drinks, regular groceries and other knick knacks and electronic stuff. If I were to visit the area again I'd definitely come here. The pricing is decent and the service is great. I cant say too much about the area as I'm not too familiar with it, but was quiet when I was there. The loudest thing you can hear is a train going by and that was Amtrak a couple times a day. If you need a rest spot definitely come check out the place and it shouldn't let you down. If you are on the road or a trucker and maybe have a layover or time between loads, you can park the semi, get out of the sleeper and rest up and shower and do some laundry before hittin the road again. I personally was pleased with my stay. Some may disagree with my review, but I was only there for 2 nights and got the rest I needed, plenty of showers and hot water and laundry. If you are there for anything else really....you're probably not in the right place. Good Luck with you're stay💪🏻🇺🇸🔱

The last time we stayed here was 2018, and when we left, we cleaned our room before we checked out, plus while we were there because we have 2 service dogs I always make sure to pick up after them. Well recently we were going to try and stay there and the new manager said that we were blacklisted for reservations back in 2018 under the old manager and refused to allow us to come back. The new manager stated that he didn't know anything about the why we were blacklisted and we were actually surprised. So if you choose to stay here, be careful what you say because it could put you on the blackliste and you won't even know it. And if your homeless Veterans who are working, stay away from this place because it's obvious that you have to be in their little circle if you want to get treated properly otherwise they will be rude to you.

Perhaps the most disgusting motel I’ve ever stayed in. Mold in bathroom, tiny TV didn’t work, previous guest’s food still in fridge. Very bad part of town and excessive cash deposit required. Insisted on charging me for a “missing” towel I never had. Lady in room next door left because of bed bugs. I checked out after one day and moved down to the TownPlace Marriott a few blocks away. A long term resident in the motel told me someone was murdered in the parking lot across the street.

THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE!!! Disgusting and dirty rooms, smelled like death and cigarettes in a ‘non-smoking’ room and the hotel and surrounding area feels incredibly unsafe. We had checked in, went upstairs to the room and immediately went to get a refund to stay somewhere else but they wouldn’t give us the refund back, 3 nights totaling over $450!!!!!! The staff was absolutely awful and rude, cheating you out of money for an appalling room. NEVER EVER STAY HERE!!!!!

This motel is a rip off I paid 60 deposit per room which is ok. The only thing I have a problem with is paying 60 $ for one towel that had a red stain from a drink accidentally being spilled (what do you expect we have a toddler with us) I wouldn't recommend this motel to anyone.

  • 3/5 Glenda S. 2 years ago on Google
I am disabled and I found the beds extremely too hard. It was like sleeping on the box springs. And the taxes should be included in the price, not taken out as a separate charge. It made us feel like the owner might be pocketing that $60.00. We will NOT be staying there again.

  • 1/5 Emily R. 2 years ago on Google
HORRIBLE - such a depressing place to be, very unclean. From all the precautions they have at the front desk, a rough clientele stays here. It's expensive to stay around Tacoma but you'll need to spend a little more to get a place that is decent.

The issue I had when I stayed there during covid was...they swore I smoked in the room and I don't even smoke. They kept my deposit over a lie. That made me soo mad I could chew nails and spit out thumb tacks...they are good about keeping deposits. Don't stay there if you want your deposit back.
