I and my wife stayed at New Jacqueline House Boat-Nigeen Lake on 20-21 December 2023. Location - It is located at peaceful and beautiful Nigeen Lake, away from the crowded Dal Lake. Approx 2-3 kms ahead from Kashmir University. You need to reach at Ghat no. 1 to get the shikara for House boat. Just inform them 30 min before. Infrastructure - They have 3 houseboats together and each one have different category of room. Beautiful carved wooden infra and OGeneral ACs are installed in bedroom, common dining area and common living room for proper heating. We booked heritage theme room and it was really spacious and comfortable. Due to winter season (-4 temperature) they have sealed all the windows from transparent plastic wrap from outside so you will not be able to open the windows but the view of Nigeen Lake is clear from there. They have DG sets available to use during power cuts. Hot water in bathroom is available 24*7. They have maintained cleanliness and hygiene very much. Carpets and blankets looks like they are New. Hospitality - Marvelous. From the moment you reach the houseboat till your checkout. Muneer bhai- very down to earth person and your all time go to person for any need. Manzoor bhai- This houseboat also have their boutique in the backyard having kashmiri shawls, purse, kurtis etc and here you will meet Manzoor bhai. Very difficult to negotiate with him but he is very polite and humble. Food- Breakfast and Dinner was included in our booking. In breakfast they served us aloo Paratha, poha, bread toast, omlette, fruits, tea, apple juice. You can inform them in advance if you want something else as per your taste. In dinner they served us chicken curry, fish fry, matar paneer, mix veg, matar pulao, tawa roti, green salad. You will have the feel of homely cooked food across all the dishes. Overall we felt great while our stay here and definitely will stay here again in future. Tip- Place your booking directly with them to save more.

What an excellent stay. The neatness and promptness of the host blew our mind. Everything is in place, u will not be able to point out any issue and they take care of you like you are at home. I was confused between this Gurkha by ITC , and if you are also confused blindly go for jacquline boat house.

An excellent stay. 5 star! They upgraded us to the heritage room which was really one of the best rooms with so much character. Great food, great service, and an amazing view of Nigeen Lake. Amir was an excellent host and treated us very well. Will return for sure! Highly recommended!

We took the suite room in the houseboat, I reckon it is the most luxurious houseboat in Srinagar. The location of the houseboat is excellent, its on the calm and secluded Nigeen lake away from the crowded Dal lake (which is accessible through Shikara). The view is absolutely breathtaking, the sunrise from the private balcony in the room is definitely something to write home about. Although on a houseboat, the room has everything a honeymoon couple could ask for, apart from the beautiful interiors the room is equipped with a hot tub as well. The hospitality by Muneer Bahi was like a brother welcoming you to their home, He personally took care that we have a pleasant stay. The food unlike other restaurants, was tasty and light on the stomach. When I visit again, I would love to stay at Jacquiline without a doubt.

The New Jacquline Heritage Houseboat is located on Nigeen Lake in Srinagar. The Shikara service is complimentary and is available for reaching this houseboat. Despite its size, the houseboat is quite spacious and marvellous. Featuring traditional Kashmiri interiors, each room is beautifully decorated and well-maintained. Houseboats are a must-stay if you're in Srinagar. It's the authentic experience. Compared to Dal lake, Nigeen lake is much cleaner and quieter. Mornings are beautiful with the view of Nigeen lake, the Chinar trees across the lake making beautiful hues, the sounds of birds chirping and the sound of rowing Sikharas in the lake. It might sound like too much sugar coating, but I can't help it. That's what we've experienced. We had booked a suite room and I must say that it was incredibly beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. Luxury carpeted rooms with attached bathrooms with hot showers and other necessities. From the deck, you can enjoy breathtaking views. There is an antique aura throughout their place. Daily cleaning is provided throughout your stay. The food was really good and to our liking. We were welcomed with delicious cookies and Kahwah. Breakfast and dinner were also delicious, and they even ask for your preferences. It was a pleasure to eat the delicious food prepared by the chef. All staff members were very friendly and helpful. I would like to give a special mention to Muneer bhai's hospitality which was unparalleled and genuine, Kashmiri from the heart. It was a pleasure to have him as our host, and he took good care of us and our needs while we were there. --> A great stay with great food and hospitality is highly recommended if you want to have a hassle-free stay with your loved ones. Kudos Jacquline Houseboat Team...!!

The last time I was here 12 years ago, I knew this was a special houseboat and I couldn't wait to bring my family here to experience the Kashmiri and hospitality. It only took us 12 years but we were lucky to get a last-minute reservation for the 8 of us and I have to say I am so glad we did. Everything was the same, but better. They remodeled the houseboats and the upgraded versions are just marvelous - hand-crafted, beautiful pieces of art! you can admire them all day! Also, Nigeen lake is just so calm, serene, and beautiful with those gorgeous deck views! What can i say about the hospitality that hasn't been said already - Maqsood bhai, Sami, Mazoor, Asia, and Munir are just the most gracious hosts - it felt like coming home to a family. Nothing was out of reach for them - our every whim and request was honored with a smile. i could go on with examples but the bottom line is dont miss it! This is Kashmiri hospitality at its finest!

The stay with family was very peaceful. Food they offer is quite delicious especially the kashmiri saag. Caretaker Munir Bahi was a very patient person made us very comfortable. However looking at the dripping temperature in winters they should provide more heating in the living area. The towels they provide are need to be changed as they look very dirty. The stay was complimented with Shikara rides to and fro the city. Overall a nice experience.

They have an antique aura throughout their place. Provides such a great hospitality and services. Food was superb and please instead of listening to any of the guides or anyone Do buy jewelleries from the local salesman from there. It really helps them to great extent . Recommended and thumbs up

Late post! We stayed at this houseboat for a week back in May 2013 with my entire family, we booked 2 rooms and we had an amazing stay. The owner and the entire staff were extremely warm and friendly and arranged for us to explore the area. I would happily recommend this houseboat to everyone :)

Not only our stay was comfortable, we mistakenly left our IDs and Sami ji promptly checked and assured that those are in his safekeep and will be sent via courier. We did infact received our IDs promptly. During the stay, the food and experience was great!

Located in the very peaceful Nigeen lake, this is a relatively newer houseboat. The rooms are big enough and Mr Asif made sure we had a pleasent stay. Glad we booked this vs other options in Dal, and would definitely visit again.

Staying in this houseboat was a lovely experience. All arrangements and booking were made over the phone through Mr Illyas, and a noteworthy mention here is that before and after the booking, I called him on a number of other occassions for a number of other questions regarding our trip to Kashmir that were not even related to Srinagar or our stay at the houseboat, yet he was always very helpful and guiding and provided very genuine complete advice. Mr Bilal, the caretaker of our houseboat, he genuinely took care of us and all our needs so courteously and made us feel absolutely comfortable and at home. Even the owner Mr Mansood, visited us personally to enquire if everything is being well taken care of. And everything was indeed being taken care of very very well. I highly highly recommend this houseboat and will go back here.

It's a very well kept HB with beautiful rooms and a very helpful team maintaining it and serving the guests. The location of the boats is also perfect, with a sprawling view of the stunning Nigeen lake to the front and a beautiful nook to the side where you will find a constant flurry of birds. My experience of the serenity on offer was sublime, all thanks to the NJH team. The food served was delicious and I would recommend this place to anybody visiting Srinagar.

Seven years ago, I visited Kashmir with friends and stayed at New Jacqueline Heritage Houseboat for a couple of days. Two years of COVID-19 had me craving for a trip. My last trip to Kashmir was very touristy so I wanted this one to be solo and not the usual kind. I had remembered the wonderful experience from last time and immediately knew that I should get in touch in Sami, the owner of New Jacqueline Heritage Houseboats. Sami created the most wonderful itinerary for my trip and took it upon himself to arrange every minute detail of my 8 days stay. The main highlight of the trip was 2 days fishing expedition in Duksum. For someone who is completely unaware about trout fish or fly fishing, I had no idea that the experience would be so extraordinarily wonderful. The joy of catching trouts along the beautiful banks of Bringi stream embellished with thousands of flowers and backdrop of breathtaking mountains is literally unmatched. For rest of the days, I stayed at the houseboat and made day trips to Doodh Patri, Yousmarg and Sonmarg. New Jacqueline Heritage Houseboats are perched at the quiet shores of beautiful Nigeen lake, unlike the hustle bustle of other lakes. My stay at houseboats felt nothing less than the luxury of top end hotels. They have accolades to show for it, rated amongst top 1% hotels internationally. Listening to Sami’s impassioned account of his journey with the boats makes you realize how carefully every nook and corner of the boats have been decorated and equipped with the most modern facilities. The room I stayed at also had a Jacuzzi! The aesthetics of the boats are only matched by the service of the staff, which is par excellence. You will find the caretakers readily available for all your needs with an unceasing smile on their faces. Be it your demand for repeated servings of Kahwa or your whimsical desire to learn how to row a Shikara, you will always find them ready to help you with everything. Each one of them Iliyas, Bilal, Akbar, Asif, Amir and Umar bhai are so nice and considerate. If this was not enough already, the food blew away my mind every single day. Younis bhai at the houseboat cooks the most delectable course of meals with so many varieties of veg and non-veg that I did not feel like eating any of my meals outside. Even though this was a solo trip but the vigour, ingenuity and affection with which Sami and his team curated my trip, it felt as if I was nowhere else but home. As they say you can never fully explore Kashmir, I would love to go back for more of this amazing experience.

Perfect place for tranquility, laid-back and relaxed vacation. We chose it towards end of our trip to Kashmir. The dinner spread was amazing and the staff were ever so courteous. The rooms were luxurious and nigeen lake is awesome.

My whole family stayed here this July( 5 of us) we booked the houseboat with 2 rooms. It was like we had a private villa on water with the best amenities we could have asked for. The view is stunning and we were happy to stay here at Nageen lake rather than on dal lake. Peaceful and amazing views from the little balcony/ back of the boat. The houseboat was in great condition, the staff made us feel very welcome, they made all the necessary arrangements to ensure we had a comfortable stay. The owner himself is a very kind person and took it upon himself to make sure everything was top notch. No one had expected the sudden heat surge at this time, but they still equipped the rooms with coolers on short notice. Over all it was a wonderful experience staying here. Definitely recommend a stay here when you visit Srinagar :)

I am happy to give more than 5 stars to this houseboat if I could. Starting with check-in everything was smooth. Our concierge, Manzoorbhai totally spoiled us with his amazing service. Maqsoodbhai, the owner of this houseboat, himself visited to know if everything was going good and were we satisfied or not. The candle light dinner decorated by Manzoorbhai and the cake were way more than expected. We were just speechless. Hope we had booked it for more than 1 night than wasting time and money in other worst hotels like The Chinar resorts who did not even care for basic facilities. I would tell all the viewers to book this houseboat for atleast 2 nights when you visit to Kashmir and once enjoy their hospitality.

My wife and I had a very memorable stay here. We were fortunate to have picked Nigeen Lake as it's far less crowded compared to Dal Lake. And among the house boats in Nigeen Lake, New Jacqueline stands out! We were in wooed by the hospitality provided by Asif bhai. From serving meals to the hosts on time to coordinating check-ins/check-outs to helping with shikara bookings to fulfilling a ton of other requests from hosts, it was a one-man show by Asif all the way. What moved me the most was that Asif was at our service despite Eid being on that day and was always being cheerful and friendly. May Allah bless you. Asif is a superstar whom the New Jacquline management must reward and retain.

Stay was awesome. Asif the helper and Younis the chef, gave the family a very happy and loveable experience as far as food, services and hospitality. 1 hour Shikara ride was free and included in the package.

This place is indeed magical, after spending 16 days in Kashmir and shuffling through 6 different hotels, New Jacqueline Heritage houseboats stole my heart, Everything was breathtakingly amazing to look at, the staff, specifically Asif Bhai , was so humble and kind, we were well taken care of right from the moment we stepped inside this little palace (yes you read that right) . The food was by far the best in comparison to all of the places we stayed in. The owners make sure to come and check in with the guests personally, which felt so warm and welcoming. I’ve come back with a full heart .
