Golden crest is run by a family and you can see the love towards their boat in the form service to the guests, the mom made food is just like your home food, tasty & healthy. Try local Kashmiri dishes if you're staying for long. The boat is equipped with great interiors to give a royal feeling & location is little secluded than other boats which are facing to the road. Am not comparing with great houseboats but it's worth more than what you pay & the service of Aijaz, Rafique & their family. Special thanks to Aijaz for suggesting a great itinerary & helping in the whole tour as per our budget.

Stayed with my group of friends for one night. Beautifully carved house boat in Dal lake with comfortable and spacious rooms. Great home made food and very accommodating host. Only one small issue is that the boat ride to the houseboat and back to the roadside will be separately changeable. Other than that everything went perfectly well.

"Staying on a houseboat is an experience of a lifetime" and Golden Crest did full justice to it. The stay was very comfortable and relaxing. The houseboat charges are very economical for the kind of service they provide. The houseboat is very well maintained and is really very beautiful. The owner Aijaz bhai took care of everything right from the time we arrived in Srinagar. We were a family of 11 people and we stayed here for almost 3 days.He was like our local guide. He even helped out in forming our itenary and directed us correctly for shopping Kashmir specialities. Further he even made arrangements for travel to Sonamarg, Gulmarg and Pahalgham and also the stay at Pahalgham. The food served each day was homely and delicious. Its cooked by his own family so they treat their guests just as their own. Also, 3 cheers to Rafiq bhai who was always ready to look out for our needs. A big thank you to Aijaz, Rafiq and his family for the great time we had.

Worst houseboat. It's very old. The caretaker is very rude. He keeps disturbing you knocking on your door 10 times a day for silly reasons. No hot water for bathing. There are no room heaters or ac for heat. The blankets were dirty. No hygiene. I saw 3-4 cockroaches. No wifi. Worst experience of all time.

This was such a wonderful place to stay. Located on a beautiful lake, it is run by a very kind family who provided excellent service the entire time. They gave us sightseeing recommendations, arranged transportation, and cooked wonderful food for us. They were endlessly helpful and made it a very pleasant stay. The house is beautiful and a total vibe! Stay here for an amazing experience and a taste of what the beautiful Srinagar has to offer!

Very hospitable staff. Very polite and friendly. We had to catch a flight at 8am in the morning, so Mr.Aijaz Ahmed personally took us and dropped us to the road at 5Am in his own boat-this made me feel so touched. The food was good and Sameer, the caretaker took care of everything that we needed. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

There is no option for negative star else would have given that who charges money from guest for water after taking 10000 for 2 bedroom and only a night stay and if asked for extra pillow for a paitent is unheard please never ever come to this golden crust house boat

Please don't book this house boat ever. The owner is a big liar . We had booked this house boat 2 months back from Agoda and 1 week before going we called him to check the booking. He simply denied saying that he has mailed us back regarding cancellation of booking which he never did . He was very rude. So dnt waste your time and money on this house boat ever. Worst experience we had for online booking. If he is cancelling then he should inform us before.

I found that deluxe room i booked was not upto mark. Beddings were not dry cleaned. Houseboat carpets had some sort of smell as if not cleaned for long. The thing i liked was hospitality and food they serve. They have 2 houseboats, so pls check with them before booking.

House boat is very neat and clean. Wifi service is decent. Owner and care taker on their toes to meet your need. Value for money. Sikara service will be there as per your need. Mr. Gul can make hookha for you on your demand. Overally I had nice experience over here.

very nice houseboat. I stayed here on 19th of November 2023. The amenities were good. Maily heater worked entire night which was a bog relief! The staff was very cooperative. Only problem was Srinagar weather. Food was delicious. Recommended for stay!

The houseboat experience was the worst nightmare I can have during a trip like the windows of the room didn't close properly which lead to whole night cold wind gushing inside, there is no breakfast menu they only provide bread, boiled egg and boiled maggi, tv is not functional, floor makes dangerous creaking sounds like it will break any moment and there is no maintenance of the houseboat which was acknowledged by the houseboat keeper that the owner doesn't do any maintenance and hot water is not available all the time which makes it difficult to stay if you have a kid in your trip. Try avoiding this houseboat if you want a memorable houseboat experience.

We booked for a deluxe executive lake view room. Seem they don't know any of its meaning. It was a horrible suffocating room, with bad smell. If anyone want to have a experience in houseboat, never book it through online and that also from golden crest group of houseboats. We felt we have been cheated.

Worst place to stay due to following reasons 1. Houseboat is located beneath bushes and other boats. Choose some boats of mountain view 2. Beware of Hospitality 3. Don’t eat food at houseboat. It’s limited and of poor taste 4. I selected deluxe room with Breakfast. Breakfast quantity and quality was forced to compromise 5. Guests were forced to suffer the lowest temperatures during dinning. though common wood based heating setup available, he refused to enable it 6. Though room heating setup available, it’s restricted to only for few hours in rooms

Very pathetic boat house. No one should book this house boat. We came from delhi for a night stay at dal lake. Please dont waste your money and night. Whenever you want to book a house boat first you should check the property only after book the property. The house boat honour was very rude and pathetic. He even didn’t try to convince me for a stay because already paid and booked online on make my trip.

Golden Crest group of houseboats is an amazing place to stay in Srinigar. The family that runs the boat as well as those that work on the boat are amazingly friendly, kind, and helpful. The service is exceptional, the home cooked food is delicious, the location is breath takingly beautiful, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience of staying here.

Beautiful house boat with very warm and lovely people owning and managing the same. We booked two rooms in this houseboat and our stay was very comfortable considering the extreme winters around( first week of Feb). Dinner and breakfast both were very delicious. Rooms were hot, cosy, clean washrooms , hot water, wifi, power backup all were there...Aijaz bhai, Rafiq bhai owners of the houseboat are very soft spoken ..always there to help in case of any issue .. The staff , Sameer , was extremely helpful throughout our stay..highly recommended for spending days in Srinagar!!!

Staying at golden crest group of house boats is the best experience I could have asked for. The actual boat itself is stunning with the most beautiful and detailed interior design which adds to this experience so much. The family working at this house boat were SO friendly and helpful! They cooked the most incredible food, they arranged cars to take us to and from every destination we went, and provided amazing suggestions and insight into what Srinagar has to offer and the best places to go. Aside from that they were absolutely lovely to be around, and we had some great conversations. If you ever get the chance to come to Srinagar I highly suggest golden crest for your stay. You will not regret it!

This is such a family friendly place (I came with 8 people), the boat house is run by a family and everyone is so nice and welcoming. They also arranged all the transportations and gave such good tips and advice on touring around Srinagar. Electricity might be on and off from time to time but that wasn't an obstacle at all, warm water was provided for showers and the best part is heated bed blankets! This is truly an amazing experience and if you would like to stay on Dal Lake, this is definitely the place to go! You can also book for a smaller group they will still accommodate you just the same for a bigger group.

Life threatening Stay: The interior picture shown is completely different from reality. The Boat roof was broken, they turn off the room heater during night time. We stayed in Dec which was terrible cold. The kitchen condition was 🤮. Can’t imagine getting our complimentary breakfast getting prepared there, so we rejected it. There was no hot water, we had to use the freezing cold water to brus.. The boat was literally broken in 2 halves. The wood burning warmer was never used Inspite of asking for it. The bed was slanted to 45 degree & the neatness & quality of beddings used were just 🤢. Already used towels were placed in bathroom with previous occupants hair strands stuck in it… Don’t get ur money & health wasted.
