Please do not go by good reviews of this place which must be either paid or fake reviews. I stayed here for one night in April 2022. It was such an unfortunate and bitter experience. When I spoke to the owner over a call before my travel, he said we will be provided a front room. Well, there was no front room. In fact, the porch was broken and under construction about which we were not informed. There was no hot water. The entire boat is in a shabby condition. I paid Rs 3500 which was a total waste. Regarding food, we were given water rajma for lunch and bread and butter as special lunch and breakfast. As a regular traveller, I prefer honesty. Charge me for what you offer. This entire place and the pictures you see are a big lie. If you indeed read reviews, please do not choose to stay here. Sleep on the street if you do not have an option but do not stay here and waste your precious money. Thanks.

Extremely disappointed. I don't even want to give single star because it does not deserve that too. No charging point in the rooms. Almost transparent curtains at all windows which make you really very uncomfortable because anyone who pass by your room can see inside view of the room. And i have no words for the food they serve, literally very pathetic. Trust me it will ruin your vacation because generally houseboat stay is considered on last day of vacation to relax after the exhaustic Srinagar (Kashmir) tourist spots visiting. Anyone can have idea about the experience after seeing below pics

Other than the name, nothing was Taj about the boat. Ambience of the house boat was 2 out of 5. The window glass was broken. Food was 3 out of 5. The manager/owner of the boat doesn't know how to talk to guests. He was the only person I found arrogant on my Kashmir trip. He even forced me to pay a tip to cook.

Very horrible experience for me .. highly filthy and unhygienic kitchen... my kids and most of us fell sick ... *I would never recommend this place* .. Unclean water in bathroom and also unhygienic bedding.

Located at ghat no. 15 in a corner with no view at all. service is pathetic with sole purpose of making money. owner comes to greet u only when u r expected to pay and has no sense of hospitality at all. When asked for dinner at around 9:30 in the night, he made excuses that this is sringar not delhi and here we had our dinner at 8 & go to sleep at 9 and cut the call. He also refused us to provide a boat to return while we got stuck in market. On checkout, i was made to pay directly to the hotel and wait till confirmation arrives from agency. money minded people.

Best houseboat all over Dal lake. Here you will find The owner "OMAR" who is very friendly, even though at night or early in the morning they will drop you & take you. They wont take money for sikara rides. 🥰

Taj palace 2 is not a good house boat to stay. Room and gallery are shady. In dinner we get boiled Aloo Gobi without salad and/or Achar. When asked they said they don't have it. They have Maggi, bread butter and bread omlette only in breakfast. Manager Umar doesn't know how to talk to guests. Please don't go by good reviews and pics. It's definitely not what you see in photos. Not a suitable place to live with your family. Highly disappointed and will not recommend anyone to visit Taj palace house boat.

Great value for money. Stay at the Dal Lake at prime location in Srinagar. Next to houseboats. All basic facilities are there, wifi may not be strong in the rooms but outside it works. Cell reception for Jio in the rooms is weak, but Airtel seems better. You might also need mosquito repellent sometimes. With these points taken care of, rest is going to be great. Umar and his team is extremely helpful and they gave lots of suggestions and ideas for making your Kashmir trip most memorable.

This was a pleasent experience at Taj palace house boat as their hospitality was so good. Food was offered at so fair price. I would like to stay at same when ever I will visit shrinagar

We celebrated our 19th marriage anniversary In (24th April 2021) and Taj Spalace it's very good house boat and the employees is also very good and thay are very careing too . And in 2022 we are going again to celebrate our son birthday.

Boathouse was really nice from inside , It is located near ghat no. 15 from where you can take shikhara (boat ride) at just 10 rs per person to reach over there or even assistance from hotel is also given. Last timings of casual boat ride is till 7 pm afterwards hardly any shikara will be there. Restaurants nearby are not really in ghat no. 15 So this can be used for just stay over only Still some basic things they provide as they have their own kitchen but if you need something have to tell beforehand so that they can make the arrangements. From there to roam near the floating market for shikhara ride it cost only 500rs not like 1500 or something from Taj palace Unless you're roaming from ghat no. 1 till floating market they can charge you hefty amount In order to reach ghat no. 15 from airport or TRC bus depot Novo cabs kashmir and Jugnoo cabs are working very efficiently at reasonable prices Kindly note the prepaid taxi stand charge as per the tourism charges which is much more than the normal charges. Be aware which services how a person wants to avail. Overall stay is good Recommended for boathouse and other budget rooms as well They provide the good blankets and quilt , hot water bottle , electric blanket but no heater.
