A historical monument located in the heart of Srinagar. It has been a place of worship for the last six centuries since its construction by Sultan Zain ul Abedin (1400). A Must visit if you are in Srinagar. Also has a nearby market for common household goods, popular with the locals. Got the chance to attend the Friday (Jumma) prayers a few weeks back.

Jamia Masjid is a mosque in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, Indian Controlled Kashmir. Situated at Nowhatta in the middle of the Old City, the Mosque was commissioned by Sultan Sikandar in 1394 CE and Historical Mughal architecture Jama Masjid in Sirinagar.A must visit huge deodar pillar mosq.Visited Masha Allah.... Great example of old Architecture and Engineering. Jamia Masjid is also one of the most visited site in Srinagar. It has a very huge garden and in middle there is a fountain. The garden has been adorned with so many varieties of flowers. Most fascinating thing about this mosque which I personally liked is that there are a numbers of long pillars are established inside the prayer hall. The minaret has quite a perpendicular shape unlike to round dome shape. Outside the mosque , there is a market. If you feel you can take a stroll to the Market. I can't put the beauty of this masid into words.. the architecture was amazing.girls have to cover themselves fully .. you must wear a full sleeve top/shirt to get the enter and if u r not wearing a full-sleeves no worries they are gonna provide uh a dupatta or sheet to cover yourself and that was a bit too much.. otherwise the masid was amazing and the uh must visit the shop inside the masid its amazing......

Visited this year's old monument during my visit to Srinagar in May 2022. The masjid is in the old part of Srinagar. If you like to see old structures of a city and are interested in photography then i suggest spending a few hours here. DSLR wasn't allowed inside the masjid. A very peaceful place with a separate prayer space for ladies. The lawn outside as well is divided between men and women. Well maintained and clean. Very calm and serene, with a beautiful Mughal architecture. There are four almost identical entrances and the symmetry is just breathtaking. The wooden pillars and interiors are intricate and elegant. Overall, a must visit!

Long wooden pillars, water fountain in the middle with trimmed grass of the garden, will surely catch your consciousness. Market: The place is famous for its Market mostly for household items. Washroom: Paid washroom is available at the main road entrances of the masjid. Parking πŸ…ΏοΈ: Paid parking is available around the Masjid road @β‚Ή20. Note: There is no entry ticket for the Masjid. Stay away from trap.

Jamia Masjid is a mosque in Srinagar(Jammu and Kashmir) India. One of the most renowned mosques in the old town. We visited Jammu and Kashmir during the month of April, we were not able to enter the mosque due to some reasons. Even though our guide and my friend (suhail) gave me a clear idea about the history and all. Sharing the images of mosque with video, also sharing the historical chart which tells the history.

Found some inner peace. Rainy day evening we entered plenty of parking spaces and some shops around the mosque. I should mention the staff at the front gate. He was giving hospitality to every visitor. No restrictions on any religious person can enter. He takes care of our valuable things. Spent a lot of time walking around the masjid with 33,333 wooden pillars inside. It's raining outside and we listening to a lot of interesting stories about the mosque. had a fulfilled wonderful day. Ambience: Excellent 🀩 Cost. : Free Entry πŸ’΅ Service. : Excellent 🀩 Parking: Available πŸš— For more follow me on Instagram @jubairk Facebook @jubair jubi

Jamia Masjid is one of the largest mosques in Srinagar. It offers a serene and peaceful environment, perfect for finding tranquility. It is important to show respect while visiting the mosque. There is a separate section dedicated to women. The architecture and design of the mosque are impressive, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the region. Very beautiful and historic mosque in the heart of Srinagar city. The ambience of this place is soothing. The mosque is in the shape of a square. There is a courtyard with a fountain in the middle of the mosque structure. Both women and men pray here. There is also a market along the entrance of the mosque.

The iconic Jamia Masjid, nestled in the heart of Nawhatta, Srinagar, stands as a timeless testament to Kashmir's rich cultural and architectural heritage. This grand mosque, with its stunning blend of Persian and Indo-Islamic architecture, has been a beacon of spiritual and cultural significance for centuries. The resplendent wooden pillars, intricately carved ceilings, and tranquil courtyard adorned with Chinars, provide a serene sanctuary for worshippers and visitors alike. The Jamia Masjid's historical significance is equally captivating, having witnessed the ebb and flow of time in the beautiful Kashmir Valley. Its enduring allure continues to draw pilgrims, historians, and travelers, inviting them to explore its intricate beauty and absorb the spiritual tranquility that permeates its hallowed halls.

Unusual construction with a reactangular shape and a large courtyard in the middle. The main Mosque is very larg and can hold 33333. Unfortunately the maulvi is under house arrest and prayers are restricted . You have to remove your shoes which we left outside , but I saw many carrying their shoes with them. We almost went back to pick up our shoes but did not. Fortunately they were still there when we got back
