Our expectations were high but we were blown away. The big dog burger was one of the most unique burgers I ever ate, loved it. The Latté I ordered was at the perfect level of stong. Our waiter had a smile on his face and he was laughing with us, on a service level we were also taken care of very well. I love the fact that it is made obvious where you are eating, everthing has branding on it from straws to napkins. There is no way you can forget the experience. We had an amazing time, I even took some new café exclusive capsules home to enjoy the trip. Thank you to everyone that made our visit this pleasant! We had a blast! You will see us and our friends again!

Love Terbodore coffee & their coffee biscuits. Waiter was very attentive. I had a tickle in my throat & started to cough, next second he brought over a glass of water without being asked. He saw us picking out plants to buy & brought over a box to put them in. Great coffee & service. Thank you Gavin.

It's the best stop when it comes to coffee in Franschhoek. Spacious parking behind the Terbodore Café building. An aesthetically pleasing inside as well as fast service. Free Wi-Fi.

We've enjoyed our visit. The food was something different than what we normally order and it was delicious a bit more pricey but we've still enjoyed every bite. Staff was helpful, professional and friendly. Note: There was also some potted plants and potted herbs to buy outside and inside was also a choice of other brand name items to buy. Overall a good choice to visit when you want something different to eat or drink... Or just want explore their choice of brand name items, plants or the herbs.

Good variety of coffees. They have a small shop selling the coffee available in beans and filter options. They even have compostable pods that can fit in some coffee machines. Interesting coffee flavours like birthday cake, salted caramel and vanilla. They sell coffee plungers, other coffee accessories and apparel. Options on the food menu is not your usual options which is a must try. All types of coffees and drinks available.

Terbodore the best coffee in South Africa, I’ve probably spent to much on coffee, but I do not regret it at all! French Vanilla is the best flavor! Good online sales team and staff. However, we were seated outside and it felt like they were a bit understaffed, our coffee and getting our waiters attention was challenging at times (we would still return any day!!) however the service was on time. And obviously the best dog ever was there to great us!

What a lovely little shop. came here on a Google article recommendation. The portions were very generous, did not expect that, which is why we had ordered too much 🫣 The coffee was lovely. atmosphere very chilled. Presentation of meals were beautiful and tasty. Fruit in the yoghurt/granola bowl was good.

Only had a quick coffee before visiting one of the farms in the area. But what a coffee it was. Got home and bought some Terbodore to spoil myself. Loved my little dog biscuit 🍪

Poor service and obscure prices ranging from unbeatable for the muffins to outrageously expensive for the Mushroom breakfast at R105 can't see the value

Every town needs a Terbodore Café! We absolutely love their coffee and visiting was a must when we passed by Franschoek. Loved every sip and every bite! Great menu items to choose from. You can also buy coffee beans (grinded if needed) and souvenirs. Will definitely return as soon as possible! Do yourself a favor and order their Dark hot chocolate as well!!!

Amazingly beautiful place at the main street in franschoek. They have delicious coffee, smoothies and of course breakfast - there will be something for everyone. They have also a shop where you can buy there own coffee. There is space at the street, in the building or outside. Parking spaces are available at the street. Can highly recommend this one!

Amazing breakfast place! Terbodore Café has an amazing menu selection and the coffee is great, too. You cannot leave without eating the carrot cake. It was one of the best we’ve had so far. Can’t wait to come back one day.

Stopped twice while on walks in Frenschhoek. The area had recently suffered from flooding so there was construction around the outdoor seating. This didn't take away from the experience. Great coffee and they also roast their own beans.

….What an awesome discovery and encounter of this outstanding restaurant situated right in the main road of Franschhoek. A love-lii big house which serves as the indoor seating of the restaurant with a shop that sell souvenirs and also the famous Terbodore Brand Coffee-Beans but the real beau-tii is outside where there is a massive area under trees and garden umbrellas boarded by a bubbling-brook which has a tranquillising effect on the patrons, so awesome. Of note are also the following facts,1 the Franschhoek Wine Tram ticket office is right here, 2 the shuttle-service ferrying the the commuters to the tram is also here, 3 they have a coffee-truck which serves and sell Terbodore Brand coffee its so fascinating to witness this hype of activity going on while enjoying one’s superb breakfast served at this venue. Also there is a Tuk-Tuk that offers Champaigne & Oysters (this is a Private vendor) the oyster sell at R 20.00 each. The menu-card is filled with delicious choices of meals and niceties to indulge in. The drinks on offer fills an A5 page. We order flat-whites, large cappuccino and the tin-cup which is an espresso, condensed milk & stretched-milk absolute-lii a good treat to start the morning off with. What caught our attention was the “Design Your Own” (two free range-eggs, done your way with toasted sourdough or croissant) Add on, coffee cured bacon, turmeric hollandaise, franschhoek cold-trout, roasted cherry tomatoes, sautéed mixed mushrooms) at reasonable prices. Whatever we ordered we were very satisfied with all the ingredients were fresh and our meals were delightful-lii delicious. A restaurant that we will high-lii recommend to be visited when in the Franschhoek area. It is also right next to the The Franschhoek Village Market……..

A great cafe. I live in Kzn about 30 mins from the original terbadore cafe. It reminds me so much of it, but with a twist of uniqueness. Had a great cuppachino here. Staff are very friendly. Would go back if ever in the area

A magnificent place. Great service. Innovative menu and almost daily specials, which are well priced and unique. Great coffee and clever, flavourful food. Never miss an opportunity to eat here or grab a coffee. Free WiFi. Kid and dog friendly. Outdoor and indoor seating. Open early. Safe parking at the back (off-street). They also have pre-prepared snack and food if you in a hurry.

We stopped at Terbodore Café for breakfast on two occasions whilst staying in Franschhoek. The café was warm and welcoming, the service was friendly and the breakfast menu was really interesting and inventive. I would highly recommend the Mushrooms On Toast, they were so good I had them both days – and I hardly ever have the same dish twice. Their coffee was fantastic, and although I didn’t sample their sweet treats, they looked incredible! It's easy to find and a great spot to grab something to eat if you’re planning to do the Wine Tram or explore Franschhoek.

Really nice place - just had breakfast and enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and great service. The dog is super friendly but also really huge, so most of the children were a bit afraid. good to keep in mind when you plan to come here with your family. We loved the place and the dog <3

The food was soooo good BUT for someone who loves Terbodore coffee and is originally from KZN, it was so disappointing to order coffee from this café. My partner ordered a Cold Brew with was so light in colour it looked like weak tea and was absolutely flavourless and had a water down taste. I ordered a Dirty Chai Latte, also disappointing, tasted like warm milks and lacked the chai taste. Even ordered an extra espresso to add but it made no difference. Think they refocus on their brewing methods rather than the food. The server wasn’t very friendly, she kind of just stood there with her pad waiting ti take our order. Didn’t introduce herself or greet us. We left with our stomachs full but our coffee craving unsatisfied.

  • 4/5 Ronier Z. 5 months ago on Google
Came by for a quick espresso on my way to hit the road. The wait was quite long for a simple drink and I think it was just sitting there for a while as it wasn’t very hot when it came. The espresso itself was a very dark roast, which exactly my thing. But as far as dark roasts go this one was well extracted. Smooth with a creamy texture and very enjoyable. Not my top choice in Franschhoek but worth a visit.

Absolutely lovely place. Great food, great service and awesome vibe. Bit more on the pricey side but it's Franschhoek so that is to be expected haha. Would highly recommend it to anybody passing through :p

Delicious freshly baked pear and nut muffin. It was really great. Coffee was also very good. Great seating area outside under the trees. The sound of running water from the stream was also an added bonus. Sadly a few menu items were not available when we visited, but was told they were waiting on their delivery. Most likely they had a very busy weekend.

  • 5/5 Matthew S. 4 months ago on Google
Easily a firm favourite in Franschhoek and loved by the locals for an easy going coffee/bite to eat. Laid back and relaxed. Can be busy in the mornings during the summer months (for good reason!) - so either get there early between 8:00-9:00 or after the morning rush for a late brunch. Also dog friendly

Old pics of reviews are not where they are located now, moved Nov 2020. Looked specifically for a family friendly restaurant and the reviews talked about a playground and garden. When we arrived there was no playground but an empty gated area full of ants and no real garden area just some grass. I had to visit their Facebook page to realise they have moved in November and everything pictured in reviews was no longer accurate. Parking: there's more than enough parking and shaded areas. Food: big dog bowl looks amazing, I added avo (a costly addition) flavors of the items are unique but the dressing seriously underwhelming almost no flavor. Big dog burger looks amazing but again nothing seriously spectacular flavor wise it was just ehh and the chips are double cooked so soggy. The kids chicken isn't so great for the little one it was nice and crispy but the flavor was odd, the kids chips are the best we've had in a long time. Nice big cuts of potato and very crispy we had to buy and extra plate for all of us. Coffee chocolate shake was okay and the coffee the best we've had in awhile. Bill came to R366 for a basically disappointing lunch. Outside and indoor seating: We sat outdoors and moved the table into the shade. The brick ground is uneven so tables don't sit nicely and careful for elderly it's easy to catch your foot and fall. We got to watch people come and go for the wine tram at the kiosk right at the seating area. Family considerations: There is trees and grass but that's it, absolutely nothing for kids at this time. They do have baby seats and fit my 2 year old fine. One of the main things we look for to visit a place. The kids menu is limited and the chicken has black seeds and a odd taste my kid didn't like. Loved the chips and couldn't get enough it was R25 for another kids size bowl or R35 I think for regular. Kids meals don't come with a drink.

Fresh, tasty food, and original ideas. A couple of (friendly) great danes running around the place. You can also buy freely baked goods for takeaway. Heard the restaurant will be moving into the town soon, oppososite Colcaccio. I'm sure they'll do well, especially if they keep up that they're currently doing.

The best coffee! You can buy the different kinds if beans to take home as well. All my family and friend that I've introduced it to buys their coffee there now but it's very disappointing when you get there for a coffee and muffin at 08h20 and they tell you: the muffins are still being made for they only open at 08h00.

This is an absolute must for coffee lovers, however their popularity means its a busy restaurant, staff look overwhelmed, expect a rushed experience. The outside garden is great for kids, but dogs business everywhere in the maze we went to checkout.

Lovely discovery. Really nice coffee and great menu, with a difference. I loved my Big Dog Bowl, full of interesting fresh crunchy and tasty veggies. I'm not vegan, but this looked such a healthy option. I wasn't disappointed. Jack, the GIANT Great Dane, saunters around saying hello to everyone and then collapses into his own lounger under the trees. He even poses for photos. Extra bonus are the herb and flower plantsfor sale. Great value at R12 each. Vibe is good. Staff very well trained.
