Booked for a wake, but I'm sure they would cope as well with a christening or retirement party etc, extremely good selection in the buffet supplied, which included a hot drink, and they were happy to add drinks brought from the bar to the cost. Staff were very efficient and worked round us with out being noticed. The bar and seating areas were very smart, and the car park is a good size. The booking process was also very efficient and considerate

Christmas lunch with work colleagues and some very hot and tasty food served up. Friendly staff and cozy feel. Not sure the mobile phone connected to the speaker system was the best choice of DJ. Christmas songs with the odd interruption of message tone on offer.

My husband and I had fish and chips tonight, it was absolutely amazing, fresh fish home made batter and the food was piping hot , would definitely recommend it , also the management and staff are so friendly and welcoming, will definitely be going back soon xxx

Lovely staff, food was great. We had the all day brunch, cooked to perfection and all piping hot. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again.

Will not accept cash, which I find wrong sorry if that offends, not everyone has cards and prefer to use cash actually spoilt our evening

Shame I don't live close to the Marquis of Granby as I would be dinking too much Abbott ale. The food was good too. Go there.

I recently held my sisters wake there and it was an excellent they cordoned of the top area for privacy we paid for 40 guests and the spread was delicious (even the vegan options )and there was plenty left over staff were excellent couldn’t do enough for us would highly recommend this venue

Went for Sunday lunch with family. Staff were super helpful and friendly - my dad is disabled and needs to have a pureed diet. Even though they were only doing roasts on the menu for the day, they prepared a soup for him which was fantastic. Couldn’t be more helpful. The roast was great - trimmings done with a twist, massive Yorkshire, and great mains.

Pleasant experience we had a couple of drinks in the garden with friends. It wasn't busy but the carpark was for the amount of people there. The staff were friendly.

Beer was good, staff were good but food portion sizes on main meals was very poor. A few chips, a few scampy and a few peas. Not the most expensive of ingredients so I cannot see why portion sizes were not more generous, it would prevent me ordering food there again.
