🫤 So I'm north Indian and I visited here a few days ago and realised how it was a mistake having trusted the 4.8 rating. The food presentation was good but the taste wasn't even remotely close to the authentic Indian taste. It wasn't bad as in it could be eaten but it is definitely not Indian food.... People often mention Indian, restaurant, recommend, good, taste, authentic, delicious, indian,

So I'm north Indian and I visited here a few days ago and realised how it was a mistake having trusted the 4.8 rating. The food presentation was good but the taste wasn't even remotely close to the authentic Indian taste. It wasn't bad as in it could be eaten but it is definitely not Indian food. It just didn't fulfil 'Indian food expectations' at all. The gulab jamun in dessert tasted excessively of coconut which made no sense to me. The staff was very polite and service was good too. The restaurant is clean and has good ambience (except for the music). I was okay initially with the overall experience but later after having food at a few other Indian restaurants here I realised it was a mistake to have paid 32 euros for what wasn't even remotely close to Indian flavours. There are many other restaurants which offer the same food variety, same quantity but a much better taste for much lesser prices not more than 25 euros in total. The two stars I'm giving are for the polite staff, cleanliness, decor and food presentation. But I wouldn't recommend mainly because of the food taste and the excessively high prices.

Top-tier indian restaurant in Strasburg. It is well located in a half-timbering house (typical Alsacian style) close to the Civil Hospital of Strasburg. Same owner as another fine indian restaurant: Shahi Mahal. Food is delicious and service is flawless. Price is reasonable for this level of quality and for the location of the restaurant. Definitely worth the visit!

The food is amazing and authentic. . I am in France since last year and this is the best Indian food I had ever since. We had chicken tikka masala and we had it customised to be more spicy for us . , the garlic naan and butter naan we crispy soft and delicious. . Really really good experience :)

Extremely disappointed. Was looking for comfort food in Strasbourg and ordered a simple dal tadka but was not at all pleased with the quality. The dal was not fully cooked, was floating in oil, didn’t have any salt and was tasteless. A total waste of money

Just for perspective, we are an Indian family from Toronto and have had a very large exposure to Indian restaurants prior to eating here. Would highly recommend this place for people looking to have authentic Indian food. Everything is so flavorful and fresh. We had garlic naan, basmati rice, butter chicken, butter paneer, and malai kofta. Garlic Naan: this was for sure made in house and not frozen naan. You could taste that they were made fresh, and they had a nice amount of crisp. Basmati Rice: cooked well, rice grains were very well seperated and worked well with every dish. Butter Chicken: perfect amount of spice. Very flavorful. Chicken was soooooo tender that it was perfect. Butter Paneer: similar sauce to what was used in the butter chicken (as expected). Paneer also had a great texture. Malai Kofta: this was also flavorful. The gravy/sauce was very tasty. The issue is that the kofta (round ball pieces) did not seem to absorb the flavor, and thus the balls were flavorless. Atmosphere: nice seating outside shared by neighboring restaurants. Very nice vibe in the town. Service: Exceptional. Very quick and the wait was not long. Everyone was friendly. Highly recommend this place, we will be coming back if we are ever visiting again.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Shahi Pakwan. We tried 4 different appetizers, 4 different main courses, and some Naan bread. Everything was delicious! The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was very clean. We look forward to our next dinner here.

Ordered dahi bhalla papdi chat, bhalla was very dry and there wasn't enough topping so whole thing felt dry. Ordered malai kofta, kofta wasn't good at all, it was hard and felt like frozen one. And wheat chapati is mentioned in the menu ordered it but it was tandoori roti and the person in the restaurant didn't guide us well. Salt Lassi was very good. The manager there lacks a smile and isn't welcoming or accommodating at all, which would have made eating there 5 times better.

The food and presentation was impeccable, the only reason that I gave a 4 star-rating is because how the manager handled my situation. I order a 33cL Sprite as mentioned in the menu but I got a 25cL instead. Upon questioning, he told me that I was right but still made me pay for it anyway. I think the manager could have handled this better and with more courtesy such as offering me the sprite for free or giving me another for free 🤷🏻‍♂️.

I recently dined at Shaki Pakwan during our trip to Strasbourg, and the experience was truly delightful. The staff's hospitality added to the overall positive impression. I highly recommend trying their tandoori chicken and dhai bhalla papadi chaat. These showcased the chef's skill in blending spices. No extra unnecessary spices or oil. Real authentic Indian food. Prices are on the higher end a bit.

This was our first time eating Indian food and we loved it. The dishes are very good, well seasoned and the portions are generous! The waiter, which I think owns the place, is also very friendly.
