We had already been warned by locals not to accept this as there is poor service inside which is not compensated by a view of the cathedral so we thanked staff, declined and left to choose another restaurant for dinner. I think that the building is so pretty you probably have a better view of it and the cathedral from another establishment anyway.

The best choucroute (sauerkraut) in Strasbourg. Excellent service! It's in a touristy location right around the corner from the main Strasbourg Cathedral. But this place is genuine and serves excellent local food in an upscale setting.

Beautiful architecture...but that is about the main highlight. Other than the wonderful man as host...I must really say, despite all the great reviews...I was really disappointed. The menu was unappealing, kind of like a retirement home selection. The steak was I must admit, cooked perfectly, but lacked taste! The polenta was pureed and also bland. Such a pity!

Service and the atmosphere were wonderful at this magical time of year 🎄 Even though they were absolutely slammed, serving 400 people across the many floors of this incredible piece of architecture, the waiters and servers were so sweet with a great sense of humor. The only problem with serving so many people at once is the quality of the food. The desserts were good. But the main dish suffered - tasty but dried out. The flavors were there, but the moisture of the sauce had been lost.

Classical restaurant, great tradition, great food. Lots of celebrities visited this restaurant in its long history. The choucroute was phenomenal. Drinks were a little more expensive than expected. Would eat here again

Beautiful traditional interior and exterior. The 3 fish Sauerkraut is a must have. Invented in 1970 it has delighted generations of locals as well as famous people (whose pictures decorated the walls of the staircase). Also a nice selection of white wines from the Alsace and beautiful deserts 😋.

Immaculate dining experience, beef fillet, veal and scallops are beyond. Well selected wine menu. Excellent service , friendly and polite servers and floor supervisor.

Food was good - choco lava cake was delish! We had pleasant service although as we visited in large group it took some time throughout the courses. Really loved the building and its well preserved interior.

Our food was outstanding. The wine was divine. Dessert tasted like more from the first spoonful. Our waitress allowed us to leisurely enjoy our meal. A must eat there again experience.

We wanted to sit at the Restaurant-Bar to drink something and we asked if there was a seat available. They very rudely answered no drinks and turned their back on us. We stayed there because we wanted to ask then if we could seat for eating but they just kept ignoring us untill we left.

What a great place! A bit touristy but man you are Seating right in front of the cathedral of Strassbourg! Food was absolutely out of this world. First time I tried salmon choux croûte! It was absolutely delicious! I really recommand! Other than that service was quick and efficient and besides being pricy compared to other places we ate at it was one of the best.

This historic and architectural beauty of a building is officially my favorite Alsatian restaurant. The food is delicious and authentic. The service is excellent! We first dined upstairs and enjoyed a special lunch with family. My partner is from the area. Our waiter, Monsier Karim, was charming, knowledgeable, and extremely funny. We started with the Escargot, followed by Foie Gras. Our main courses were Choucroute Traditional, Filet de Sandre façon, and the chef’s special of Veal with vegetables and Potatoes Dauphinois. We loved every bite! The grand finale was the tarte aux fruits de saison, quetsches (french plum) with vanilla ice cream. The parents ordered the chef’s special apple strudel. We paired our meal with a bottle of Alsatian riesling recommended by our waiter. It was a lovely experience. My partner and I returned the next week and sat outside on the patio. The food was equally as delicious. The atmosphere is much more lively outside. We enjoyed the escargot and foie gras again, but shared the chef’s fish special, Lotte. Ooh…did I mention the location is next door to the Cathedral? You can hear the church bells and catch a view of the breathtaking 11 c. - 15 c. architecture. Note: Reservations are required for upstairs dining. The patio is first come, first serve.

Once again we had a lovely dinner on the first floor .lovely place with white table cloth. Servies was very good and friendly. Food was delicious, quite large portions. We had entrees ,main course and some dessert. Everything was yummy, especially the chou crout, Sauerkraut,.definitely coming back.
