Absolutely beautiful and wonderful scenery, especially during christmas season. The lights are just mesmerising and fascinating to look at. Very ideal for anybody who appreciates christmas lights. It is especially beautiful and astonishing to look at during the night when everything is lit up and illuminated. The food stands offer a very wide variety of food to eat and to taste and everything was very delicious as well as affordable. I definitely recommend spaetzle with sausage or chicken and mushroom as well as the crepes and waffles. I recommend as well tasting their warm red wines or fruit juices, they are very heart warming.

Place Kleber is the largest square at the center of the city of Strasbourg in the heart of the city's commercial area, was named after French revolutionary general Jean-Baptiste Kléber, born in Strasbourg in 1753. In the square is a statue of Kléber, under which is a vault containing his remains.

The Place Kléber is the central square of Strasbourg, France. Place Kleber, the largest square at the center of the city of Strasbourg in the heart of the city's commercial area, was named after French revolutionary general Jean-Baptiste Kléber, born in Strasbourg in 1753. In the square is a statue of Kléber, under which is a vault containing his remains. On the north side of the square is the Aubette (Orderly Room), built by Blondel in 1765-1772. Located in Strasbourg's historic center ("Large Island") the area was classified a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1988, the first time such an honor was placed on an entire city center.

Mineralisation progresses everywhere in France and in Alsace, especially in Strasbourg. This impersonal square has been remodeled several times to rectify the errors of the former municipality who was at the origin of this Stalinist change of the square. Very lively, Place Kléber is often the place of gatherings and commemorations. This is also where the Christmas tree is installed and decorated every year, with considerable cost to taxpayers at the time we talk about protecting the environment.

Known as the capital of Christmas Markets in the world! Hard to dispute this claim after seeing the magnitude of this market. The location is one of the most beautifully kept historical homes within a modern city. The colors, architecture and full on display of French and German influence is overwhelming, you just don't know where to look and what to admire first. The Christmas Market is massive, connecting several neighborhoods into this continuous display of hand crafters merchandise, local foods, hot wine and cider. This is a must visit city regardless of the season, we will come back again!

This is a really beautiful square in the heart of Strasbourg that is definitely well worth a visit. It is the largest square in the city and is in the heart of the city's commercial area. It was was named after a French revolutionary general Jean-Baptiste Kléber who was born in Strasbourg in 1753. There is a statue of him in the square and there is a vault underneath that contains his remains. There is a large fountain that dominates one side of the square that is most impressive indeed. You can sit on the edge and past the time of day quite peacefully.

Nice square , interesting story and great location. Unfortunately the place is used as a not so attractive market for stuff...and not for farmers market which is pushed aside to a back street. No shade and 2 many cars and others vehicles

The tree is everything you want it to be! The marche itself has fallen into industrial commercialized products and doesn’t sell as much handmade stuff which is so sad :( The best area is right near the tree where they have charity booths where you can purchase items the are made by organizations to support different causes.

Public place with underground parking and toilets. A part from Christmas market also worth the stop and the time spent Saturdays here with warm atmosphere and well-organized demonstrations, old/deflated/antique book market, dancing, comedy open shows and even workshops like learning Bridge card games and many more..

First day of the Christmas market. Crowded but very beautiful. The main Christmas tree by the ice skating rink is beautifully decorated and huge! So many stalls full of diverse items and so much food!

Strasbourg is a wonderful delight of old historic buildings, narrow pedestrian only streets, canals and rivers. Kleber Square is perhaps the best place to start your walking tour of the city but allow plenty of time as there are many distractions along the way.

The most popular touristic spot in the centre of Strasbourg. Beautiful place. Nice atmosphere. Crowded for most of the time. Lots of shops around.

Nice square to visit in Strasbourg. Only one authentic coffee shop in the square that was unfortunately full. I can get Starbucks in the US so I didn't want to settle for that. I felt safe at kleber square when I saw the solders with rifles patrolling the area. Startled me at first when I saw them.

Nice square to walk through, it is very pretty. Weekly markets are often set up here. But we have never found a place to eat or drink right on the square.

  • 5/5 James A. 4 years ago on Google
Nicely decorated park with Christmas tree, an ice skating rink, park decorations that will provide a nice Christmas or holiday backdrop. Streets are lined with cobble stones and the square is surrounded with a variety selection of restaurants.

General Kleber!! I visited the Kleber square not on the Christmas season but in February. A beautiful and historical square shows the city’s history. I would like to come back to see the most famous Christmas market here :)

(Translated by Google) Superb location, but a pity that we are not strutting around peacefully! The pedestrian is no longer quiet to walk, scooter bikes, skates, boards, impossible to be quiet, you always have to watch to avoid being knocked down, the places of walk have become permanently stressed and that for all of Strasbourg, pedestrians feel attacked. I like the bike, it's Indispensable, but not like that !! A cercuit all around the city should have been made for 2-wheeled vehicles. But in the city, have walked to be able to visit and look at the windows. Yet it was only a logic to Respected. You should know that 2 wheels does not respect any rules. And that the 2 wheels remain unstable and dangerous for the pedestrian who has priority everywhere.

(Translated by Google) Visiting Strasbourg by horse-drawn carriage, that looks nice to discover the city. One look at the opinions and everything converges, it's a great experience. Reservation taken 3 weeks in advance, on D-day everyone in the car towards Strasbourg, yes but once there, no one at the meeting point. The service provider canceled all of his visits for the day, contenting himself with sending an email to his clients to inform them ... A bad experience that should be emphasized with a reservation system close to amateurism.

We were in Strasbourg from Saturday to Monday, I read about the place and thought it was "the place to go".. but there is not really anything in the square and all of the shops were chain shops etc. Maybe Kléber includes the surrounding streets? Because the rest of the streets and surrounding area are full of lovely restaurants and bars etc, it's great to sit at a restaurant and have a lovely view of the cathedral. But again in the actual square it was honestly very bare, the rest of the city is so much better, literally the only thing about Strasbourg that I was a bit " oh I thought this would be better" the rest of it though is A***

The Place Kléber or Kléberplatz, as it is called in German, is located in the heart of Strasbourg's city centre. In its centre is a popular photo motif: the statue of the general of the French revolutionary armies Kléber.

A very beautiful plaza that has a lot of open space for taking pictures and hanging out with friends and family. Currently there is a Christmas market going on so there are a lot of little shops selling different things. The best part is there is a big Christmas tree for Pictures and an outdoor skating rink

  • 5/5 Alicia Di P. 4 years ago on Google
A really beautiful and lively place in the heart of Strasbourg. Was there a few days after the Christmas Market had opened and the fabulous Christmas tree set up. There is a nice but not big enough ice-skating rink for the whole family. The most important sights are within walking distance from this square. I suggest visiting it on Saturday evenings, there are some catchy Xmas events, music, food, lights, anything you need to have a great time. Don't forget to look up and delight yourself with the magnificent architecture around!!

It’s a great square with historical figure. Do research who was Kleber and what did he do in the French army. It’s a fascinating story. It’s a great square that is a good meeting point And accessible to many areas in Strasbourg that’s why many walking tour companies start there. Now the Xmas market is there too.

This beautiful spacious square is named after Jean-Baptiste Kléber who was a French general during French revolutionary wars. He was also a very talented architect and designed a number of buildings at that time. He was assasinated in 1800 in Cairo while accompanying Napoleon Bonapart in the Egyptian Campaign. There is a sculpture of him in the center of this square.

I enjoyed the Christmas market here so much. Not overwhelmingly crowded, well organized, security measures on point. Regarding the prices - the mulled wine is 5 €, a nice meal is 10 € or up, waffles or pretzels 6 €. No ceramic mugs for the wine, though. It is served in plastic.

Went here for Christmas market, is not as cool as one right next to the Cathedral but does have access to a clean public bathroom (which Cathedral one lacks, just has porta potties) that many will probably need after beers ha ha. It is located at the street entrance from tram tracks.
