Wow. These were the BEST falafel balls - honestly, just give them a go! Everything was really fresh and flavours complimentary. The menu photos really don’t do this place justice! Portions were larger than expected, with a side of pita bread. 150 lira for two large mains seems like insanely good value (unsure if this will hold with current inflation levels in Turkey!). Seating inside and out. We sat outside and heard a few people walking past saying to companions the place was good and/or pointing out our plates. What a hidden gem. A+++ 🧆🤤

It’s a decent falafel place but NOT the best you can find in Istanbul. I wonder how the overall score climbed up to 4.8!? Prices are also average market prices. The sides which come with falafel plates are okay per delicacy. Pitas are not so fresh and sealed in plastic bags. It would be good if the pitas were at least toasted. The falafel was unfortunately not very tasty. It wasn’t crunchy outside and succulent inside which it should be. It’s an authentically decorated per the owner’s taste. The owner is Syrian, a polite decent man. The service could be a bit quicker. It’s an okay place for quick bites though. Overall score 3.9/5 for a Falafel place

Normally I don't like vegetarian food, but trust me when I say this 'This is was the best vegetarian food I ever had'. For a person who fixates over meat, this was really a great experience. I would definitely recommend this place! A family owned restaurant with extremely nice people who actually care about the food they serve.

Amazing falafel! We're not vegans nor vegetarians but we went to this shop because we were craving for something fresh after eating too much doners and we were absolutely impressed! Yes, we had to wait for a little bit but it was all worth it. The falafels are crispy but soft and moist on the inside, and they're also big. Everything was fresh and we will definitely come back! Last but not least, the seating area is air conditioned and the owner is such a sweet, lovely guy.

5/5. Hands down the best falafel you will have period. Very fresh abs made to order. The batter is made the same day and cooked fresh to order. The simplicity of this place makes this a wonderful neighborhood falafel place. The service is great and the food is too. The place is quite small but they do have an upstairs seating area but will accommodate only a maximum of 16-20 people at best so if you have a big group it maybe a wait. The price you pay for the food you get is unbelievable. This is very affordable place.

I usually expect spicyness from falafel, since i used to live in a place where falafels were served in almost red because of the spices, i'd tried couple of places around the city, but this has been the most satisfying among all. Recommend them, also the owners are a very sweet and nice mid age couple ☺️

Food is tasty, healthy and served in large portions. It was so good, that I couldn’t resist getting a second plate even though I wasn’t hungry anymore. I feel so full 😂 location can’t be better. The staff is lovely, they offered my water. Price/quality is unbeatable. Thank you guys!

The best falafel/ hummus place in Istanbul! Very friendly staff, beautiful Arabic food, vegan friendly and the prices are very good! It’s a must for hummus lovers and alike! All dishes are made fresh and you can definitely taste it. the lovely lemonade with mint is tasty and refreshing. The falafel is crispy from the outside and juicy from the inside. The hummus and babaganoush have their own signature taste and it’s texture is rich and creamy. I could go on with every single dish but my verdict stays the same. When you visit Istanbul and want culinary experience beside kebab, this is your place!

As someone who has eaten the best falafel in Lebanon, I can only say that the food topped everything I have ever eaten. The ingredients were fresh and crispy. The food was prepared quickly. The street coming from Taksim, is one of the nicest streets you can walk. There is seating and is very centrally located. Don't miss the opportunity to support these great people!

Superb Arabic food found here! Syrian inspired Vegan and Vegetarian delights, a great variety of foods like Tabouli, Falafel Patties, Baba Ganoush, Muhammara, Fetted Hummus, and more! Great and friendly service, fresh dishes in a relaxed atmosphere, a short distance from the Istiklal mall.

(Translated by Google) I came across this road by chance and I wanted to try it because I miss eating falafel. I can say that as someone who eaten falafel and hummus in Jordan, Lebanon and Israel, both falafel and hummus are great. A tiny family business, very sweet people. You have a nice way! Excellent falafel plates. We had takeaway menu 1 and 2 before and for dine in menu 3 and 4. It's a very cute business with not a lot of space inside but it's cozy. The falafel are crunchy but not too dry, the fattoush pure crunch, the hummus creamy, the baba ganouch smoky, the tabbouleh juicy, and the Arab bread soft. It's a vegan business so no ayran. One of the best places for a wholesome bite away from the hellscape that is İstiklal street

Falafel Koy is a small falafel shop located in the Taksim area. It’s situated on a street going uphill and feels like a hike to get to depending on where you are coming from. We were coming from the river so was quite a hike walking up. This is a very tiny and tight restaurant. The ground floor is entirely taken up by their counter and kitchen. We sat upstairs which has about 5 small tables. As with many places, they had a few bistro style tables alongside the street. We ordered their falafel plate, which included 4 falafel, baba ganoush, hummus, cucumber/tomato salad, and laffa bread. We wanted a light lunch, so this was plenty for the two of us. The falafels were perfect. They were different than what we have had because they were softer and very mild in taste. The hummus and baba ganoush were delicious. We learned that falafel isn’t served with many sauces like we are used, so can taste dry. The laffa bread is so soft and light it melts in your mouth. Most restaurants along this road are super small, and likely cannot accommodate seating for larger parties. They do pack food to go, which is an option. These restaurants are locally owned, and the owners likely live around their restaurants.

I can't even remember how many times we ate here. This is the best, freshest, most incredible falafel we've ever had. The staff are amazing, so friendly and helpful. On our last night we were both sick and still made sure we trekked up the hill to eat there because we couldn't bear the thought of missing a final meal. You absolutely won't regret coming here if you're in the area, and even if you're not.

If you are in Istanbul, you must try this place! The falafel here is incredible and the prices are amazing for what you get. My husband and I decided to get lunch here and between the two of us spent less than $15 USD for two meals, drinks, and an extra order of falafel. The Babaganoush was amazing as well. Recommended items - Menu 3, Mixed Menu, Lemon & Mint Juice!

I walked about an hour w the intent to come to this restaurant while also visiting Balat. As soon as I walked in the gentleman who was making the food and serving greeted me warmly. I ordered the hummus and falafel and asked for it to go. As soon as I walked out w the food OF COURSE I had to try one of the falafels and YUMMYZER!!! 😋😋😋😋😋 I ate the whole thing while walking around in less than 5mins. Haha. Definitely if in the area I say go! The price seemed very fair as well. 🙂🙌 ****************** Updated. Tried their hummus when I got back to my place and mmMmm so creamy and delicious! Homemade hummus ❤️

One important factor to consider is the significant waiting time to get a simple sandwich. Unfortunately, the wait is not justified as the sandwich, a basic falafel, doesn't meet expectations. Waiting around 1 hour for just three falafel sandwiches and a salad is quite frustrating, especially when you visit such a restaurant during lunchtime, expecting quick service. However, that is not the case here. If you choose this place with the hope of quickly grabbing your sandwich and continuing your visit of Istanbul, you will likely be disappointed and regret your decision.

Excellent on every level, I was the first customer today and the older gentleman was so nice and welcoming. I ordered menu 1 and I was beyond satisfied. The falafel are crispy and flavorful, the hummus smooth and delicious and the beans and salad are 10 out 10. They also serve Syrian bread on the side and it’s so fresh and soft. I highly recommend this family owned business and the cherry on top it’s affordable !

This place is so awesome! Me and my girlfriend came back twice to this wonderful falafel place during our time in istanbul. Everything was perfect from the service to the great food being served. My girlfriend has never been a big fan of sallads or falafel but even she finished the big portions of food here. Falefel Koy would make a great Starting point to make someone eat more veggies. Sadly this place is somewhat hidden on a smaller street but well worth the effort to search for!

What a fantastic discovery! We were hungry and a little lost and hoping for some vegetarian food when we stumbled upon this humble little restaurant. We (my husband and myself) ordered the “menu 2” and shared the generous plate of deliciousness. Divine fresh falafel, smoky babaganoush, great salad and fava beans . Everyone eating at this tiny place was expressing sounds of enjoyment as they sampled all of the dishes . This is not a fancy place , no view or much decor but super affordable (our shared plate was 20 liras) and tasty! Will definitely return here soon. Limited menu best for lunch or dinner.

Unlike ours, the babagannuş on the falafel plate was made with trump tomatoes or chili, with only aubergine (which was grilled in a barbecue, I think it really tasted trump). The location is not very smooth, we're very, very pleased with everything we eat, but poor decoration. We paid a fattet two falafel hummus platter $ 50. We used to take the food from here to the beach on Burguzada and Kinaliada. Really would suggest to go here just as it opens, because the falafel they cook is not that fresh in the evening.

Everything’s fresh, the owner is very nice and makes THE BEST hummus and falafel. We’ve tried a lot of good food around, but still keep coming back here. So worth it

  • 5/5 Rachel P. 4 years ago on Google
Super friendly and warm staff, delicious and freshly made falafel for a very good price, tasty hummus and babaganoush and pickles. They were also playing a soccer game, making for fun conversation and a lively atmosphere. What more could you want??? Eat here and you won’t be disappointed!

The food and hospitality here is incredible. We ordered takeaway. The owner spoke English and immediately explained the allergens and how the food was made. The menu option was 30 lira and it was some of the best falafel, hummus and tabbouleh we’ve tried around the world. The place is a hole in the wall down a side street off of Istiklal, but that’s where the best food is usually found.

I was passing by and the place just smelled amazing . Stopped and had one of the best falafel wraps ever. The owner was so incredibly nice and hospitable . I wish I had more days in Istanbul, I would have eaten it everyday 😂

Very fresh, home-made food prepared live for you. Price/quality relation unbelievable good. 30TL and you get a fresh beautiful plate. It could be a little bit more clean but was ok.

Perfect example that you don't need a luxury place for very good food. Humble and sweet place with delicious falafel, humus and tabouleh. Love it!

  • 5/5 Adi N. 2 years ago on Google
Definitely the best falafel you‘ll find in whole of turkey! 🤩

  • 5/5 Eric D. 2 years ago on Google
Amazing food for 30 tl. Best Falafel in istanbul hands down and best value for money, fresh and healthy side dishes such as a nice green salad, hummus, tabouleh and more. In a city where healthy food is lackluster, falafel koy knocks it out of the park! I've been in Istanbul for 2 months and nothing compares in this price range, falafel restaurants double the price are substandard as with most restaurants in the istikal area.

  • 5/5 Valentyn V. 2 years ago on Google
This falafel is just something to die for. I was full but ordered a second portion because I just couldn’t resist. Babaganoush and hummus are amazing too.

  • 5/5 Daniel P. 2 years ago on Google
I have been twice the last 3 days and must say it was the best falafel since my last visit to Tel Aviv. Very nice and kind Syrian man who owns the place, you can tell in his eyes he is a very genuine and caring person. In my travels in Syria (few years ago) I met nothing but kind people with ace food! On my second visit I had a piece of glass of in my food and they were very apologetic. I will return, only gripe is I wish they would give more hummus & green olive oil on it.

Very small and cute place. Reminded me of old sandwich bars. We ordered falafel wraps. They were ok but they were a little bit tasteless. I guess they could have added a bit more sauce or hummus.

I really enjoyed the falafel. The boss and his family are friendly. I recommend this restaurant. Close to Istiklal Street. Try vegetarian food 😋 You can check the video on my YouTube channel. Channel : Lezzet film

A magnificat place to eat falafels and humous…Everything was fresh and tasty. The friendliest and amazing mister that we could met in istanbul. I hardly recommend it for good Syrian food

  • 5/5 Tyler G. 2 years ago on Google
Everything was fresh and tasted that way. Falafels were moist and full of flavor. All the vegetables had a crunch, and the right amount of garlic and lemon. Great price. The friendliest guy I have met in istanbul. The whole family has a heart of gold. Eat here for good Syrian food!!!

The atmosphere of this place is laid back and welcoming. There are 2 seating areas; one that outside and another upstairs on the second floor. Upon entering, your order is taken and you are seated promptly. We ordered menu item 2 (falafel, fattoush, baba ghanoush, and a fava bean salad) and 3 (falafel, tabouleh, and hummus). Both were delicious! The falafels were hot and fresh and the sides complimented them so well! FYI: the menu only contains falafel based dishes. We would recommend this place for the authenticity and the price point is hard to beat for the quality of food.

This place was a surprising find, great value food. The quality of the food outmatched it's price. The menu is simple which is good for travelers who don't want to over think to much. The smoothies are made fresh.

Amazing eatery on a steep climb up from the nearest tram station. We arrived when it was just about to close, even then the owner and the people were gracious enough to serve up such delicious food! The falafel is mouth wateringly delicious. The side salads filled with lemony goodness! The fava beans were a bit undercooked, but that did not ruin the experience one bit. Highly recommended and it exceeds the already high expectations! Absolutely brilliant.

Delicious and authentic taste with a very reasonable price within a touristic area where restaurants are usually abusive. The people are also very nice and welcoming. Totally recommend!!

Wow. Great and authentic experiance. The waitors and chefs are great and humble guys serving great quality food. You full of energy afterwards. The best Falafel i ever had. The street is original and quiet and its great to sit outside. Thank you guys. Keep on rocking

Got the falafel meal option 4 (comes with a side of pita) and the lemon and mint juice which I highly recommend. It’s a small and cozy shop, with limited seating upstairs. Worth the hike up the hill and incredible falafel and value for money (non touristy rates).
