The best wood fire pizza I think I've ever had! Pizzas ranged from about $18 - mid 20s. There were a good variety of vegetarian pizzas. A great venue that accommodates for large groups and families. The venue has a calm, warming atmosphere to it. Will definitely be back!

Really friendly staff but please please please avoid the gluten free pizza!! I have never been more disappointed and I have tried many gluten free pizzas all over the world and I wouldn’t even give this one to a dog. The base was like cardboard (clearly no yeast to make it fluffy) and the sauce was bland! The normal pizzas looked amazing and I’m sure the other food is nice but the gluten free pizza is not worth the extra surcharge (even though I have no choice but to eat gluten free they still charge you)!

We usually dine in but it was super busy so we decided to grab some takeaway. The pizza was hot, fresh and delicious even after arriving home. Our takeaway was ordered online so there was no need to call! The collection time was texted through to us, easy peezy

Liked it here, enjoyed a Sunday lunch with friends, good food and good service, only negative was it was noisy where we were sitting, inside opposite the counter where you paid, it made it difficult for us to chat, this was our first catch up in years, one lady was annoyed and the other said at least we know the staff love it here, as the noise was coming from them having a good time, didn't really bother me, you do have options to sit out the back in a court yard or out the front on the foot path. I enjoyed the aranchini balls with a pesto & mustard sauce and a herb, garlic & cheese foccacia, another had the lamb cutltes, you get 3 cutlets, a ton of baked potatoes & peas, the other lady had a creamy chicken pasta dish, all was delicious and nothing was left on our plates. Food was reasonsibily priced, we would all go back.

Very friendly staff who knew the menu well. I took 1 star off for the very soggy middle of the pizza. The rest of our food was lovely. I highly recommend the pear and ricotta cake for dessert( which is made in-house).

Amazing staff and atmosphere, the food is always delicious and portions are great. My son and I love getting pizza and hot chocolate, great place to go to meet up with friends.

Found this place by chance while visiting family in Melbourne. I reserved for 2pm lunch and even though we arrived 30min early the table was ready with my name reserved on it. Best authentic napoletana pizza dough I've had in Australia and authentic Italian ingredients. Great to finally see Melbourne discovering mozzarella di buffala. Freshly made al dente pasta. Staff were super friendly, and service was good. Espresso was excellent. First time I tried a double malt peroni - loved it. I know where to come back for a pizza when in Melbourne again. Best crust pizza I ever had in Australia. According to my Italian friend, this is the closest that can get to Pizza in Italy. Beware, the taste is strong, and you will find a big difference comparing to Domino’s or other places. Not only taste good, it looks awesome too.

We had a difficult time choosing any vegetarian options even though most Italian food has a lot of vegetarian gormet food. We ordered at the end of the arduous task of sifting through an very small menu the mushroom risotto, which arrivewd at the table resembling what it was but when upon tasting it, it tasted like it had no salt. Luckily the restaursant had Sicilian table salt at the table. It was very bland apart form adding the salt. Customer service was excellent and we were treated very well. We ordered conolli but what we received was far from authentic Italian canolli. This was not an authentic experience and I would describe it as average. I'm not going to be too negative as the service was nice. The menu needs to be expanded. Like for instance "pasta with cuccuzza" or something autrhentic. I can tell that this restaurant has a lot of potential to be named as fine dining if they stop focusing on thew fast food approach to fine dining. Please improve as my ratings for you guys will too. I excpect excellence from italians. Show your quality expand your menu and show the true dishes from our country. Other than that the chefs did a wonderful job with the limited menu they have. I would dine there again. Just hope for a higher choice of genuine italian recepies.

I had a Pizza Lauretta, with the most delicious crust. My son had a burger which he really enjoyed. The staff are always attentive and it's a restaurant that I will definitely come back to.

First time attending Pier 71 on a recommendation from friends. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious, piping hot and the service was excellent. We had Brad as our waiter and he ensured our experience was on point. His level of customer service was exceptional. We will definitely be back. This establishment is a gem.

The quality of food here is consistently good, and its very tasty - fairly authentic Italian. Service is top notch, very respectful and friendly. Wine list is great, beer list.. not so much, but you can live without beer for this one. Not cheap, but reasonably priced for what it is. If price is your yardstick, I hear there's a Dominoes going in across the road.

My favourite restaurant in Altona. Fantastic food, friendly staff, great atmosphere. Great for a quick take away coffee or a full sit down dinner. And I just love that they bring my pizza to me when I'm sitting over the road at Hopheads for a beer! Can't get better service than that.

Great coffee. Lovely, friendly staff. The pizzas are simple and delicious. My wife and I can share a whole pizza and feel satisfied, not over-full. One of the few restaurants around where you can have a conversation even when there's a birthday party on the next table.

Have nothing but positive things to say about Pier 71. It's been our local 'go to' for years. The pizza is insanely good with that traditional base that you get in Italy. The pasta and their other main dishes are amazing also. Great wines too and always a friendly smile from Laura and the team.

Awesome night, food was delicious, service was great, floor staff 10/10, then when the night ended and we went to pay the bill the bar man on register tried to tell me I ordered 6 beers and I knew I only had 3, he was like I’ll just wipe them off then and when I said I definitely only had 3 he sort of fired up and we could tell he didn’t believe me. A little disappointed the way he ended it after our total bill was around $500. Would love to give 5 stars but 4 it is. Maybe check your bill if you head there.

Upon arrival we were greeted with a lovely smile. Had multiple options to be seated. Jazmin served us, she was very friendly and made us feel very comfortable. Margarita Pizza was the highlight, chip sauce had weird taste and consistency and the ravioli tasted very similar to the supermarket brands. Overall the experience was good and staff were friendly.

The place has a nice vibe with lots of interesting pictures (I assume) from old times in Italy. Pizza was very nice, we had the capricciosa. It has fluffy dough and very thin so you have to fold to eat with hands since it was rather moist. But it was very nice. Chips were ok. The carbonara pasta has weird texture of sauce, I would say a bit lumpy and has sweet taste. Had to add salt to make it more edible. So overall pizza is the winner here. Female waiter was rather scary, didnt smile at all.

pier 71… cannot describe how amazing this place is. never tasted coffee quite like there’s, could drink it all day. staff are awesome, and so is the food! but nothing is as good as their coffee😍
