I just dropped in for a drink after finding the Kingfisher on Google as a pub in the area which I've been working. It really is a very unique and beautiful venue in a picturesque setting. The welcome and service I received though was what really stood out for me. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, aiding me in selecting an ale from a wide range of their very own brews. I haven't eaten there yet but plan to visit again next week as the menu looks incredible

What a fantastic place. The building and it's decor are wonderfully unique, a mixture of rustic and marine run through the whole building. It overlooks a beautiful lake with lots of outside seating. The food was superb, a small menu but everything looked great and what we had tasted great too. I had the chorizo starter, my brother had the duck rolls. Our mains were the beef shin and ale pie and the roast cod. Everything was perfect, served by friendly and efficient staff.

Realllllllly enjoyed The Kingfisher! It totally sneaks up on you. After searching for 'best roast dinner near me', I can confirm it's top notch. The service is excellent. Everyone is so happy to help and the turnaround time is incredible. I was worried I wouldn't get a roast as it was late in the day plus I hadn't booked. Not only did I get one, it came like lightning and was very very tasty (just like your mums they won't tell her so it's cool). I highly recommend. The decor is fantastic and the view over the lake is amazing...I can't wait to come and watch people fall over on the water when it's warmer that's for sure!

Omg I absolutely love this place, it's fun, its quirky and it's the place to be! The decor is fab, great look, wish more restaurants were like this. The staff were all brilliant, all so friendly, chatty and fun. Great team work at the restaurant, it's the kinda place I'd love to work at. The food was delicious and generous portion size too. I'll definitely be coming back here!

10 stars for the views, the staffs and the comfortable seats. 4 stars only for the food, chorizo dish would be better with less corn starch, chips in fish and chips is just ok with a bit dry taste. overall experience is excellent for family weekends.

Eaten here a number of times and the food has always been good. Service has been quite fast even when it's been full. The restaurant is very quirky, especially the toilets! It has always had a nice atmosphere with often some quite large groups celebrating something or other. My only complaint came from my last visit when we were told there wasn't an allergen menu. One member of the team said they could check individual items but then couldn't explain whether dishes did or may contain the ingredients we were questioning. And that does make a big difference. Seems very unusual in this day and age not to have an allergen menu. Aside from that, it's worth a visit. Plenty of parking too.

Massive shout out to Callie who sorted our table with very short notice! We were welcomed by Ed who said he would look after us during our meal, safe to say he went over and above to make us laugh all evening and provide an excellent service. Everyone around our table were saying how lovely Ed was and he really made the evening for everyone he served. Thank you Ed, we will be back - solely from the service you provided😄

Really enjoyed our dinner here, the setting is lovely, really well laid out and feels really cozy and such an interesting decoration. The waitstaff were fabulous and really nice and the restaurant was super busy yet you didn't feel ignored at all, the food was great,generous portions and tasty! Loved the roast and such a wise range of choice on the menus too! Highly recommend to visit.

Came here for a meal. Booked a table - turned up early and had drink whilst waiting. Staff very helpful and friendly - had nice meal. Nice location. One thing I don’t agree with is service charge on bill. Tips should be voluntary and not put on bills. Should be up to customers to tip not to be forced.

Absolutely stunning location with a view on the lake. Rustic decor, very interesting usage of recycled materials, really nice to look at. Lovely menu, for children too.

Very nice bar and restaurant with a great view right near the water. Food was great, had the pork pie and the chicken burger. The selection of ales was okay. Riverside IPA was tasty. Staff were very quick to serve you and Friendly. Would recommend and will come back.

An amazing location right on the lake with beautiful views. There's a feel-good atmosphere with coastal themed decor inside plus lovely outdoor seating on the large deck at the water's edge. Fantastic food reasonably priced, fast and friendly service and lots of parking make this a hidden gem we will visit again very soon!

We ate inside overlooking the lake. The place has a nice feel, and if you are going on the water or want a nice evening out then this might be a good choice. Food is subjective, so take what's coming with a pinch of salt; I found the food unexciting, and mediocre in terms of flavour, personally I would not come here to eat again. Price is reasonable though.

Found this place Randomly lastnight. Must say amazing service,everyone is so cheerful and helpfull especially wendy. Great drinks and food choices. Will definitely be coming back. Was a Great evening, thank-you 💯

Lovely place. Quite a unique ambiance and the food was excellent. Staff were attentive and courteous without being intrusive. Covid safe and easy to access and pay etc. Looking forward to going again 😀

Really great place to eat at. This is now one of my local restaurants and I will definitely love to come here again. Maybe in the spring summer as I've only visited in winter. Roast was delicious, it was a proper roast dinner. I had the nut roast (if your not vegan you can ask for a Yorkshire pud too) and my other half had the lamb (sorry I couldn't get a photo of that) which looked amazing! Good roast potatoes but to make it perfect I would love fluffy roast potatoes, not so perfect looking. More gravy is always a good thing too. Unfortunately I didn't get to try deserts but I will next time! I love the decorations and the fire pit in the center. It was busy at 3pm but not too loud, just a nice atmosphere

Chicken,leak and ham pie was delicious. Nice portion size and plenty of gravy. Good selection of drinks. Warm atmosphere with plenty of decking space to look over the lake in the summer. Given we had a party of 20+ people the service was very good and efficient. Would recommend this pub. Prices were reasonable too.

Food was lovely but unfortunately, the service was VERY slow for a Wednesday evening. I've been here many times and never had any problems but today was very disappointing. Especially, as it was for a special occasion. Each of us felt like the waitress was pushing us to tip and hovering over us whilst we used the card machine. We did not tip due to being unhappy with the slow service. Once we paid she said "shame you didn't like the service", pulled a face then walked off. The attitude and pushing for a tip was totally unacceptable. I doubt we will come back or recommend to anyone now. The staff seemed stressed & under pressure. It made us question what if we booked on a weekend...

Great spot for meal all year long. Great atmosphere with a lovely view of the lake. This place is quite popular so I would recommend to make reservation before you visit.

UPDATE: went back yesterday for Sunday lunch and we very disappointed. Food was less than average. Lamb, veggies overcooked, roasties hardly done, Yorkies tasteless. Again great service tho. This time from the very helpful Ella. Wouldn’t go back for food I’m afraid.

Took my date here for our first date last Wednesday and came back today. Although that says a lot on its own... The location by the lake is lovely, the interior decor is awesome and the staff are lovely... Especially Audrey our waitress who even wrote a goodbye message on the receipt and was extremely spooked when I said her name 😂 anyway on top of this the food was excellent and the apple crumble tart was 👌 I highly recommend this place and it's easily the best place I've eaten in the local area.

Really lovely meal visiting for the first time. Great location and the interior decoration was so unique and individual. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend and visit again.

We've lived nearby for 40 yrs and not known about this place. It is a gem with a cosy beautifully decorated interior. No doubt lovely to sit outside during the warmer months. Food was tasty although several items were unavailable when we visited.

Not so much a pub as a restaurant. Very nice food and great relaxed atmosphere. If you get on their mailing list they do a really generous birthday offer!
