Great place to eat vegetarian food! First you find a seat, then grab a plate/bowl and choose whatever food you like (Buffet style). Proceed to the cashier and the food will be charged based on weight (4.80 CHF for 100g). Ambience was great too. The outdoor seating was comfortable and there were several fans around to keep the place cool. Do take note that both water and papadam are free. The place gets crowded at about 12pm, so do come early!

One of my top five places I visited in Zurich. I'm not a fan and I do not prefer vegan food, but here it is amazing. The location and ambiance are pleasant and relaxing. The staff is friendly. It may seem a bit expensive to those of us who do not live in Switzerland, but I think the standard there is ok. My overall rating is 8/10. ✌🏻🇲🇰🇩🇪🇨🇭 PS: I ate twice during my four-day stay in Zurich. 😄😃😀

A perfect place for (not only) vegetarian/vegan. Very nice space, not so expensive and very good food, super cute lavatories (I loved the tiles!), cool seating, two terraces. It's self-service and may get full during lunch time but people don't sit here for a long time. Try the pineapple&basil lemonade!

The ambiance in this place is fantastic. While the food was decent, the service was somewhat mixed, with some enthusiastic staff and one who seemed less so. I would really appreciate a few recommendations on the menu, along with some background information on the ingredients. For instance, knowing that the honey comes from a farm just 10 minutes away, where bees help pollinate xxx, or that the Kombucha we're served is from a local brewery named xxx, would be wonderful additions to the experience.

Trendy rooftop bar/self service restaurant very close to the hauptbahnhof. It's an offshoot of the nearby Haus Hiltl (oldest vegetarian restaurant in the world). As such, all food is vegan/vegetarian and the selection is a fair bit thinner than at the main hub. That being said you'll probably find something tasty you like. Where this place truly shines is the great decor and vibe which on a sunny day is perfect for relaxing and having a nice meal or drink outdoors. Turns into a bar after 5pm and only adults are allowed thereafter.

Seriously delicious and amazing vegetarian buffet. So much variety in the food! Really recommend this place! Fairly average Swiss restaurant prices. Definitely treat yourself to food here, great for a solo meal, a date or a friend outing. The cocktails are also delicious! And the service from the staff is also lovely! Enjoyed my visit 100%

One of the tastiest dish I’ve ever had in my Europe trip! They had a huge variants of foods, and each one of them was delicious. They will also inform you if you need halal food, since some contains alcohol, like the tiramisu cake. I wish they can make an alcohol-free tiramisu cake because it’s my favorite cake and I would love to try it here. The spot is very nice as well. Clean, open, and good lighting, especially outdoors. They have a glass to cover the outdoor area and they also provide blankets, so you wouldn’t need to worry about feeling cold. They also have an excellent service. Everyone was so kind and accomodating. Would recommend and I would definitely visit again one day.

I am not a vegetarian but dined here due to the good reviews and history. There is a main dining area where the buffet is situated and two glassed-in terrace rooms (smoking and non-smoking). Overall the food is good but probably more popular with vegetarians. Most restaurants in Zurich have vegetarian options.

Hiltl is a delightful dining experience for veggie enthusiasts and omnivores alike! With a wide array of scrumptious plant-based dishes, there's sure to be something for everyone. The charming ambiance offers a lovely retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city, while the welcoming staff ensures top-notch service. Sustainable practices and a commitment to quality ingredients make Hiltl stand out among restaurants. Highly recommended for foodies and eco-conscious diners! 🌱🍽👍

Hiltl Is not just the oldest, but probably the very best vegetarian - vegan restaurant around the globe. Extremely consistent high quality food, friendliest staff and the dachterasse has a lovely atmosphere. Prices are for downtown Zürich completely reasonable. Have probably been here at least 100 times and I am looking forward to the next 100 dining experiences.

Its alright.. Food is ok, wouldn't say wow but good.. vegetarian options only. Good selection thought.. I think its quite expensive.. Terrace and seating area outside is nice and refreshing.. No view still good..

As all of the Hiltl restaurants, this one too is not disappointing. The food (vegetarian only) is generally great, and there is a wide selection of drinks. This Hiltl, moreover, has a specially cosy atmosphere as it is located in a small space near the rooftop. It is possible to sit outside on a terrace, but I haven't tried it as it was quite cold.

A great vegetarian restaurant, with the best variety in all of the city served in a buffet. The food is charged by weight so you only pay for what you eat from the buffet, unless you have the appetite, then you can take an unlimited meal for 63 CHF. Absolutely worth it if you are in the mood for a heavy meal. P.S. they had some great Indian food options too

Dachterrasse HILTL:Didn’t meet the Expectations set by Family and Friends I had high hopes for Dachterrasse HILTL, a vegetarian restaurant in Zurich that was recommended to me by my family and friends. They told me that it was the best place to enjoy authentic Indian cuisine in the city. However, I was very dissatisfied with my visit and I felt that the restaurant did not live up to its reputation. The first thing that bothered me was the service. The staff was not very attentive. They did not explain the menu or the concept of the restaurant, and they did not check on us during our meal. The second thing that disappointed me was the food. The restaurant claims to offer authentic Indian cuisine, but I found it to be far from the real thing. The dishes lacked the flavor and spice that I expected from Indian food. They were bland and overcooked. The only good thing was that they had a lot of variety and you could choose anything to eat as everything was sold by weight. They also offered free bread, papad, and water. But this did not make up for the poor taste of the food. The third thing that annoyed me was the price. The restaurant was very expensive for the quality and quantity of food they provided. We paid almost 40 CHF per person for a mediocre meal that left me unsatisfied and unhappy. I felt that we wasted our money and our time at this place. I would not recommend this place to anyone who is looking for authentic Indian food in Zurich. It is overhyped and not worth the money. There are much better options in the city for vegetarian food that are cheaper and tastier. Dachterrasse HILTL is a disappointing experience that I would not like to repeat.

Visited with my sister and friends who live in Zurich. I was in the mood for eggs but by the time we arrived, the breakfast menu had finished. However, I gave the vegan eggs a try and was not disappointed. Yummmmy! Nice food, nice atmosphere and helpful friendly staff. Can't wait to go back next time I visit Zurich ☺️

This was a restaurant or rather, eatery, which we returned to twice in a row, because first, while dining out in Zurich (or anyway in Switzerland for that matter) really burns a hole in the pocket, we found the pricing quite reasonable by Swiss standards as they charge based on the weight of the food. The average price of a plate we got per pax was around 15 CHF. Although this was buffet-style and we are not vegetarians, we found the food really very yummy, so much so that we didn't really miss meat much.

Great concept for a healthy vegetarian place. Multiple dishes of all types of cuisine which is served buffet style and pay by weight. Lovely ambience and value for money.

Nice ambiance. They are claiming to be first vegetarian restaurant in the world. It is on a rooftop with the view of Bahnhofstrasse. Food is okay but it is waiting in the buffet already prepared. There are enough options to chose.

Good selection of veggie food but nothing mind-blowing (for the age and price of the establishment!). Enjoyed the buffet aspect but staff taking payment did not give the best service. However it is a great location with a rooftop terrace next to Bahnhofstrasse.

Its not a roof terrace, just 2 terraces on the 3rd floor of a 6 floor building, so no views of anything - except concrete. Food is lovely, vegan and organic

What a cute find! It’s a pay-per-plate vegetarian restaurant. It’s up-top on a building and literally has any food choice you can think of. It’s clean, people are nice, and the vibe is chill. Only four stars because food adds up in price quicker than you think (we spent 30/plate), plus it’s a bit confusing if you’ve never been to a hiltl before. We found ourselves just guessing and going with it. Overall I would recommend.

World‘s oldest vegetarian buffet. Tasty food. Good variety. Good way to try many things at once. Not really cheaper than an average classic cafe in Zurich. Around 20-30 CHF per plate.

Simply amazing. There are tens of dishes, at least half of them vegan, which taste great. I recommend the thai red curry, but be sure to taste as much as you can! I paid 23.35 for the meal in the picture.
