When myself and my friend Rachel arrived as nurses in Australia we felt Richard (manager) was more than helpful letting us check in at 8am as we had a lot of luggage (earlier than scheduled). Offered us loads of advice with things to do and advice on how to set up accounts for our working holiday year in Australia. Printed documents for us which we needed for our new jobs. Loads of advice and leaflets of things to do around Sydney. Hostel is very clean and tidy. Offered to clean our rooms daily if needed. Allowed us to check in earlier than scheduled. Room was big and beds were comfortable. Offered to upgrade to 2 queen size beds on occasions also. We felt so comfortable staying here and really realised how lucky we were when we wanted to try somewhere new (only two minutes up the road) and got a massive shock as it was no where near the standard of this hostel. Excellent service. Would highly recommend to anyone. Definitely a convenient area and reasonably priced rooms. Quiet at night. Will definitely be back!

Quite easily the best hostel I’ve had the pleasure of staying at. It’s run very professionally, Richard and Lilli are friendly, engaging and will spare no expense in making you feel at home. Having stayed here for 3 weeks and had only positive experiences, I feel very sad to leave this place behind. The hostel is a bit smaller than most you’ll come across but it’s perfect for someone travelling and looking to meet new people as unless you’re sitting in your room all day, you’re going to strike up conversations with other guests. The location is perfect. Being located just off the main drag along Bondi beach you don’t really notice the constant traffic. And the best part is you can be on the beach within 2 minutes of leaving the front gate. Overall, it’s a top place and I’ll be sure to make an effort to return next time I find myself in this neck of the woods.

Very happy with my stay here. All the team are lovely and very helpful. Stayed in female 10 bed and it was spacious and clean with decent beds. Lots of information about the area and a social vibe while still quiet in the rooms for an early night. Would recommend.

I stayed over the weekend. Lovely stay. Staff I great. Super organized, rules are very clear and enforced. They make sure they do. Not noisy at all besides people hang out in the kitchen before going to the bars. Location is the best, next to the beach, bars, coffee shops and restaurants. Totally recommend it no matter your age.

Great location! So close to all the services and the beach, with information about the area dotted about the hostel. Rooms are nice, but some are too hot overnight. Comfy beds, but my mattress and pillow were stained. Great outdoor space to chill and kitchen is nice and spacious

Just used the bag storage service whilst awaiting a late flight time. Very easy service. Go to the backpackers directly rather than book through other third party services as it is cheaper (around $8 a bag a day). Reception is open at different times (think it shuts 1-4pm) so if wanting to drop bags off then give the hostel a call. Super easy bag drop would recommend.

Good atmosphere, nice spaces! Just keep the travelers comming and it will be even better. So many facilities and staff can help with heaps of things. The free surfboardrental made it the place for me. Good boards as well!

Nice hostel to stay in Sydney. Good vibes, friendly staff, clean kitchen and bathroom, large outside area with bbq grill. Definitely gonna come back when in Bondi, maybe in the summer to enjoy the beach better. (Beach is not even 5 min walking distance)

Excellent, friendly and very helpful staff! Was just arriving to Sydney late for the first time, they walked me through step by step how to get from airport to hostel. Waited for me to arrive even though I was coming in late. Other guests were wonderful! Facilities and rooms were very clean and comfortable. Great big courtyard which I loved. The only downfall of my stay, was that I didn't have time to stay longer! Highly recommend!

Sweet Accommodation for surfers and travelers! Besides a clean kitchen and a cinemaroom with a huge portfolio of good movies, it got everything around you need. Very friendly staff and great location near the beach. Nearly everything on walking distance and free parking within 15 min walking. A bit quiet but that’s also because of winter and corona. Overall pretty good.

Awesome location in the main street of Bondi across from the beach. Clean, spacious dorm rooms with large kitchen, courtyard and common hang out areas. Surfboards to borrow, board games, laundromat, etc all in a very central hostel.

A bunch of us went back to the Backpacker’s Hostel in Bondi Beach to have some lunch with friends who were staying there. The owner dropped in on us to get our details and was delightfully warm and genuinely interested in the story of our friend’s son, who had just completed a 6 month walk across Australia. This hostel has a lovely relaxed feel to it. The location is brilliant, being so close to the beautiful Bondi Beach. I recommend it.

I have been around the world many times, and every time I come home I always reserve a place here! The service is fantastic and the staff are so professional. Immaculately clean, close to all that Bondi Beach has to offer, and very well priced considering the location. I have never had a bad stay here, and it truly feels like a home away from home! Unreal location, immaculately clean, great vibes and so many free services. Discounts on local food, free skateboards and surfboards, gym equipment and you don't even have to do your own dishes. Loved my stay here and can't recommend enough.

My boyfriend and I were only supposed to stay for a few weeks but ended up staying for 6 months. It is in the perfect location - close to the sea and right in the heart of the 'Bondi bubble'. Richard and Lily were great hosts, helping us with everything we needed. Wonderful stay.

a fabulous gem of a place. Richard (manager) and Lilli run a great hostel. It has everything you could need and more (fully stocked kitchen, comfy beds and clean linen, laundry machines, outdoor patio, chill out/lounge area, board games, movie room). We stayed in a few places around Bondi and this is by far our favorite. Other places were tired and quite dirty. This spot is lively, has good people and is clean. Highly recommend.

I really love the location of this backpackers, just right in front of the bondi beach. You just swim and walk to your room and take a shower. All the staff was so kind and they explained everything in details. Room was neat and clean. I’ve extended my stay here. If you wanna enjoy the beach during your holiday, I recommend this place for your staying.

Had an absolutely wonderful stay here. Less than 5 minutes from Bondi Beach, plenty of restaurants/cafes etc around, rooms were clean with aircon + fans and beds were super comfy. The owner was so helpful and made check-in/check-out so easy. 5 stars, would definitely stay here again!

As a family of 5 we appreciated having all we needed for a budget price. The location was perfect, we loved being out at the beach, cafes and eateries every day and accessing public transport to the city. Rooms are comfy and clean. Staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Skateboard hire and proximity to to Bondi skate park was a highlight for our 3 boys.

I really enjoyed my stay nice big back yard, very clean. A nice common area to meet people whilst it still being quiet here at night. Very close to Bondi beach surf boards available as well as wetsuits. 10/10 can only recommend!

Both Alex and Rich have been superb hosts! Very welcoming and friendly, happy to help and give tips on things to see and do. The entirety of the hostel is cleaned to a good standard. Also perfectly located a couple minutes from the beach and local restaurants. Despite getting busier and running out of beds they are always keen to keep current guests and were able to shuffle things around to ensure I could stay an additional couple of nights at short notice. Would recommend, and if in the area will surely try stay here again.

Given the price and location, this was too good a deal to pass up for a brief weekend stay in Bondi. Staff were friendly and capable, and the check in process was smooth and well communicated. Noise was minimal and I got a good night's sleep. The room was clean and pleasant, facilities were in good condition, and the place was kept at a nice temperature, not too cold or too hot. Will definitely consider staying again.

Nice, secure hostel with a great location and good recommendations. The staff were all helpful and it was easy to figure things out. Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because the place feels cramped with the rooms and especially the bathroom. Since the bathroom is an open floor it often ends up wet so make sure you have shower shoes. If you want to spend time at the beach this hostel is a great option!

The location cannot be more convenient with a 39 second walk to Bondi beach whilst being surrounded by excellent cafes, restaurants, bars and shops! The staff are incredible. They go above and beyond to ensure your stay is comfortable and smooth. They are available to help with any queries and do all they can to meet your needs. Rich is a star!! The cleanliness is superb! With housekeeping staff ensuring that communal hallway, bathrooms, toilets etc are all spotless! Rooms have plenty of space for everyone, the kitchen is spacious too with plenty of fridge space and the communal areas are great for socialising! It even has an outside area too! I can’t believe what you get here at Bondi Backpackers for such a good price too!

Bondi backpackers was clean, hospitable, educational and cozy. They have a sufficient kitchen and a lovely social space. The staff is unbelievably kind and helpful. All basic needs are met at this charming hostel NEXT TO THE BEACH. Sorry that part just makes the experience for me. You will not be disappointed with a stay at Bondi Beach Backpackers.

I stayed here for 2 nights and it was an excellent stay. After travelling the whole East Coast, this hostel definitely has the most helpful staff. The hostel is in a brilliant location, just a 2 minute walk to the beach with body board and surf board hire. The kitchen is extremely tidy and clean and they even wash some of your dishes for you! Best part is free sun cream at the desk which my ginger genes are grateful for.

Excellent facilities in a very central location to the beach, restaurants and buses into Sydney. All Staff extremely friendly and helpful wherever required. Lots of information about discounts on activities, restaurants and other things that are included with your stay. Also many jobs advertised throughout the hostel. Had a great stay at this hostel, Lucie was so welcoming and helpful at the check-in and always made herself available to help with anything. The hostel is in the perfect location and has lots of facilities to use for the beach. Loved how the World Cup matches were being shown here too! Overall a really comfortable stay, the rest of hostel occupants were all very respectful and friendly.

I'm not a fan of dorms room as I have quite sensitive sleeping but that's nothing you can do about. I really liked the job opportunities you've been offering and rental prices are just amazing so it makes the price for night way more acceptable. All after all everything was really good. System of washing dishes was quite interesting as well, I've never seen something like that 😁 can say it was best hostel I've stayed so far 🙂

Great place with good facilities in the perfect location (literally a minute's walk from the beach). The place is well kept and the staff are super helpful and accommodating. My first night they put a bed for me in the TV room as I had come without a reservation and they were already fully booked but didn't want me sleeping out in the streets. Free surfboard/bodyboard/skateboard rentals are included as well. Will definitely be back!

Great hostel with so much to offer. Secure with locked gate and in a great location! Rich was very welcoming and offered some great advice for what to see and do. Also a British girl (I think) with blonde hair working on reception was also very helpful and used her own phone to call and find out details of an appointment I had that morning so she was fab too. Room was good with big trays for belongings and lockers available to use. Great advice about parking too!!! Thanks guys

BBB is a great hostel that offers much more than the others nearby. Unlimited access to boards, wetsuits, fins etc means you can really enjoy the whole Bondi experience without being fleeced by some of the surf rentals. Rich and his team (Lucie, John x2 and the housekeepers) keep the place in good order and run it with consideration for all the guests. Their local knowledge is really useful so make sure you chat to them and get the most out of your stay. I see some comments that are less favourable about the place below; if you think the standards set by their team aren’t for you (cleanliness, punctuality, general hygiene and a sense of order) then perhaps leaving your mum’s home cooking and bedtime story isn’t for you. Definitely worth staying here.

Me and my sister stayed here for 2 nights and had a very pleasant experience. The staff were so friendly and very helpful - we even got a lift to the airport & the money was just taken from our bond. This was above and beyond the expected service. Rooms were so clean & the beds extremely comfortable! We would definitely recommend staying here :)

Such a nice place for backpackers and solo travellers. The hostel is only a minutes walk away from the beach it’s amazing! The staff are so friendly and accommodating and they often make dinner for everyone. They have everything you could possibly need to have a great time in Bondi included in your stay such as snorkel gear, wetsuits, surfboards and more!! My friend and I have had the best and most fun time ever here!

On arrival greeted with a friendly welcome. Richard, Lucy and Jonathon are all very easy going and accommodating. Rooms were comfortable and bathroom was clean. I appreciated the effort the staff put into creating a Christmas itinerary for everybody to feel some home comforts and enjoy the celebrations. Would recommend to a friend.

The most lovely people and fab hostel for travellers in groups or solo ! The bathroom was cleaned regularly (even in our one night stay!) and it was spacious. The rooms were very large and the bed were super comfy. They also put on group dinners to meet other people and have some food in the evenings which was such a nice idea. Carla checked us in and was so lovely and helpful and we had a great experience with all the staff we met !! Would definitely recommend this backpackers for anyone coming to Bondi

Excellent location, and super easy to find! The check-in process was easy and the room was comfortable, only stayed here for one night but would definitely stay here again! As I now only live down the road from this hostel, I revisited to see if there would be any chance I’d be able to print out some CVS. Richard was super helpful and accommodating. He offered me advice on how to improve my CV making me more appealing to employers. Thank you Richard! :)

The accommodation is really good and Rich is absolutely friendly. We preferred stay away from the busiest part of the city so the location was perfect to enjoy, Bondi is beautiful. The kitchen and bathrooms were large and very clean. We would definitely stay again there!

We stored our luggage for the day and this was a perfect spot for us. Richard was so kind and helped us get settled in. He even printed out a guide packet with recommendations of places to stop on our journey south to Adelaide. Super friendly, and convenient! I would definitely stay here, and I absolutely recommend to my friends!

I went to Bondi Beach for the day before a flight out and they offer a bag storage that was perfect. Rich at the front desk was super helpful and got me squared away quickly. He was also able to help me figure out the best way to the airport, even offered to organize a shuttle for me.

Amazing location, great people, incredibly helpful staff, comfortable accommodations, good WiFi everywhere and just a general good vibe that permeates throughout the whole place. They have everything you would need, laundry and dryer machines, free surfboards and wet suits to rent, a couple of refrigerators, and a chill side room full of books a nice tv and a guitar. Great prices and clean bathrooms and showers. 10/10 loved it can’t wait to stay there whenever I’m in Sydney.

There is a really good atmosphere at this hostel! Common areas allow you to meet new people everyday! They also offer some equipment that let you go surfing... that's amazing. I would definitely recommend!

Could not have been more pleased with my stay at BBB. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location just steps away from the beach was incredible. The kitchen area and back porch really make it a unique hostel experience. Whether you’re staying for a few days or a few weeks I’m sure you’ll love it. Also if you have a few days stay I’d recommend using BBB as your base to do a Bondi to Manley walk. It’s a 80km series of walking trails that takes you all the way around Sydney’s harbor, great way to see the city.

We were very lucky to have found this awesome backpackers to use their bag storage service to enjoy the beach before our departure. The location is great as it is only a few steps away from the beach. Rich was very kind and helpful and great to have a yarn with. Visiting Sydney for a few nights for the city to surf fun run, staying here was perfect. Old school style of hostel, everyone was very happy and keen to chat, but quiet at night. Fantastic location for the fun run, being only 100m from the beach, to have a shower right after the finish line.

We honestly loved our stay at BBB, best hostel we’ve stayed at in Aus so far. Rich was like family from the moment we arrived, he set us up and gave us lots of insider info to help with our travels around Aus. He was extremely attentive and nothing was a bother. We booked a private room for 2 which was spacious and clean. All other travellers and guests at the hostel were welcoming and kind and helped us plan our trip up the East Coast. We felt safe and secure at BBB, toilets were spick and span and the kitchen was spacious and clean. The location couldn’t be better, quiet but right in the middle of town, a hop skip and a jump away from the beach. Again, we were so grateful for all of the knowledge and advice Rich shared with us. THANK YOU! All in all, 10/10 - we will be back!

I had an amazing stay, it was very affordable, the staff and the other residents were very friendly, I met some amazing people from all over the world, I heard some wonderful stories and made some of the greatest moments of my life. I even made some new friends, because everyone here is amazing and super nice. I'm so grateful I chose to stay here and I'm really excited to come back

My daughter stayed here on the first leg of her travels, a solo 19 year traveller. Richard was so helpful right from the start and put me at ease before she had even got there. Betty got a lift from the airport and was there for two weeks, her whole experience there was brilliant, all the staff exceedingly helpful and kept checking in on her as she is by herself. She is definitely returning and wants to be there over Christmas. Lots of activities and fun things to do and facilities great with lockers and storage. Highly recommend! :)

The worst hostel I stayed on in Sydney with the same price of a nice one 😅 began with rude staff not a great welcoming that set off the mood of the hostel. It was overall a bad experience, dirty rooms, with windows u could not close! loud, hot and smelly rooms. You could not lock in ur bags or anything either. *update* The owner calls up my number and is a bit upset about the rating. Begs me to take down the review. That’s a first timer but it explains the good rating on google! Red flag! 🚩🚩Complains that I didn’t say anything when I checked out. Who would really start to argue the first thing in the morning about a hostel u stayed at for a night?

I’d call it a 4.5! I’ve stayed in hostels all over Europe and New Zealand for the past few months, and Bondi Beach Backpackers is among my favorites. They really run this place like a shared home, which is great for me having just moved to Bondi for a couple of months. Staff: the staff are kind and helpful. One night when our room was super loud, the front desk guy came and fixed our window and passed out earplugs even though it was super late at night. They also filed for my new tax number and helped with my resume free of charge! It’s nice to have guidance in such a new place. Rooms: the rooms are fine. My friend and I were moved from our original booking into a new room because they knew it would be less crowded which was thoughtful, but overall the rooms are pretty standard. Beds don’t have curtains and there’s no secure storage underneath, but it’s not a very big deal. Biggest complaint is that it’s pretty loud. The room looks out over the backyard and by 7am there’s tons of noise coming from construction nearby. Fine if you have earplugs/AirPods. Location: really great. Couldn’t be better. Amenities: big, nice kitchen and lots of storage space for food - essential as a long term “resident.” The bathroom (1) isn’t outstanding but it’s not bad. They keep it pretty clean. There are great common spaces where everyone likes to hang out which creates a really fun and lively atmosphere, and sometimes they give out free wine at night! Great touch. They also have free pasta and rice which I’ve never seen before. Surfboards/wetsuits available to rent as well. One final note is that it’s pretty expensive, but I guess that’s the standard over here in Bondi. The management is responsive, helpful, and super nice, as are the other guests. This place is easy to call a temporary home while here on a work visa and I’ll be extending my stay!

Had a great stay at bondi backpackers, felt welcomed instantly, such a lovely community. The staff were super accommodating, and will do what they can to help you in any way. All the other backpackers were really friendly, and the rooms were spacious. A homely place to stay!

Good location only a quick 2 minute walk from Bondi Beach. There was an option for cheap meals at the hostel which was useful for those who arrive and haven't had a chance to do any food shopping yet, and a much cheaper alternative to eating out anywhere. The hostel also had a lot of deals and vouchers for food/drink and activities in Sydney which was a great perk. All staff were really helpful too, would definitely recommend Bondi Beach Backpackers.

First off I want to clarify, I did not stay at this hostel. I had an opportunity to use their bag service which was amazing. I called early in the morning Sunday and received an immediate response from Rich. I had a late night flight back to Maui and needed spot to store my luggage after checking out of my airbnb. However from what I can tell it was a very joyful, hip and friendly atmosphere. The front desk stag was so helpful and courteous. The reception area was very clean and inviting. I also used the restrooms upstairs and they were pleasantly clean. The front desk was genuinely welcoming and even asked what I was up to today and asked me how my day was when I came back for my bags. Really amazing service, location and vibe. HUGE THUMBS UP! Would recommend if storing bags or if looking for hip, casual accommodations. Mahalo from Maui🌺

We had a checkout from our air b n b in Bondi and didn't know what to do with our luggage as we had five hours really before we needed to head to our next destination. Bondi Backpackers were INCREDIBLE swift with supporting us to have our luggage. We payed per bag and had them there for many hours while we went to enjoy food and massages. The owner at Bondi was accommodating so many people and helping so many people and can really feel he holds down a huge pillar and being guardian in Bondi for many that pass through. This is truly an ABSOLUTE GEM Of a place. The people circulating the area were from all over the world! Restrooms to use and showers etc. Clean and great! So grateful! Thanks for your kindness ✨🙏🏼🤍

We had a great time! First time here at Bondi and we found it very helpful staying at this hostel regarding all the information and help everyone here provided. I highly recommend it. The service was excelent and everyone very kind

The Bondi Beach Backpackers is nice hostel to stay in for a little while. Mattresses aren‘t the best and also power plugs are missing next to every bed for charging your stuff. Also bathroom’s aren’t the biggest. But to be fair all the people I met here were super cool and chill, it was cleaned regularly and Richard let’s forget that all with offering help and information in any situation if you just ask. The rooms doesn‘t have lockers, but you can ask at the reception for keys for lockers which are placed in the corridor. They fit for a small backpack. The location is amazing for having fun nights at bars nearby as well as just relaxing at the beach or catching some waves. The boards offered for free as well as the wetsuits are used but the condition is okay to have some fun. Also lot of free board or card games for fun nights are offered as well as ping pong or beer pong if you want to. So you get what you pay for and as long as you don‘t need it to be super comfy, you‘re doing good booking a room at BBB.

Great location, very friendly staff. Bunk beds are comfortable but there aren’t any lockers in the bedroom is the only negative. Very much a party hostel, so good if that’s what you are looking for

Stellar location, centrally located to shops, bars, beach and GOOD TIMES! Rich and Candice were so accommodating for bookings etc. Fieta and all the cleaning crew do a great job at keeping the house tidy! 10/10 recommend Will definitely be back!

Location was incredible and so central. Facilities were clean. Thoroughly enjoyed meeting new people and everyone was so welcoming! Had the best time. 10/10 would stay again!

This is a unique experience for me. I'm a male of 62 years of experience. This place was a gem discovery. The people who service this place are hard working, no nonsense, down to earth working under the pump with visitors from all over the world like myself from the Cook Islands. The visitors here likewise make up the ambience of any visitors stay at this abode. The office management truly tries to save visitors' monies and try to inform visitors of opportunities and value additions and opportunities for travellers. I maybe banging on here but I highly recommend you try it. Ty. 😊

First time staying at a hostel ever! Very positively surprised and happy about my choice of stay! The people are all backpackers, young, outgoing and overall contributes to a very good vibe at the hostel! The hostel is a rather small hostel, however that makes it more comfy to be there! As everyone knows each other. Staff are also very nice and there’s a great vibe between staff and guests!

Great location! Very social hostel and it was quite easy to meet people here because it's a small hostel and everyone knows each other. Even though the hostel was full on the 24th (during Taylor Swift's concert) they found space for me. The hostel dog Zeus is absolutely adorable!

Fantastic hostel. Met the best people here. Friendly atmosphere, clean rooms, great staff loads of extra stuff which is great! Free surf boards, pasta and rice and you don’t have to wash up !
