Great beach access along the Ruston Way/Tacoma waterfront. Good for throwing rocks and taking in views of Brown's Point, the Port of Tacoma and passing cargo ships. You can see Rainier and the Olympics as well.

I've driven over the pass a million times but never stopped here. So glad I did thus time its spectacular. The park is very clean, well taken care of and clean restrooms. Its appears to have alot camping. There are picnic spots turnouts with tables and fire pits along the lake for day use.

Cool place for a walk and to view Mt. Rainier on a sunny clear day.

A nice place to take a walk, or sit & spend some time near the water. We went for a backdrop for photos.

Beautiful park along side the waterfront where you can get a view of Mount Rainier. The park has a long wide sidewalk along the water with multiple piers to get close to the water and see Rainier. You can also see the port, boats and many views of the water and mountains.

This is a great spot to get sunset views of Rainier! The sunset reflection on the mountain is gorgeous during the golden hour of sunset. Parking is a hit or miss. So finding a spot may not be easy. There is a long walkway along the water and a lot of benches to relax on. The geese here are tamer than the mean ones in Lake Union, Seattle. 😛

Well kept but not dog friendly because there are no poop bags available. Otherwise it's a nice Scenic walk along Puget Sound with some really good views.

Great place to walk the dogs. Several miles of paved pathways. Interesting wildlife including diving ducks answer seals.

I went there on a Thursday afternoon hoping for a nice picnic by the water, when I got there I quickly realized that couldn’t happen because all the grassy area was beyond littered with dog poop. The view of mt Rainer was beautiful however, and you could even see the city of Tacoma, as the sun came down (not over the water) the sunlight sparkled the houses on the other side of the water. Nice piers and good area for rollerblading or bike riding. Not a bad park, just a lot of dog poop.

Lovely views of Rainier, operational train tracks behind add character. They closed the road next to it for 4th of July and that was awesome to be able to just walk around care free. Food trucks for the festival were very good.
