A mausoleum where you can see valuable records of the Japanese military during World War II. It seems that it wasn't originally here, but it was changed to this shape to make it easier for many people to visit. There's something very appealing about the Japanese that pops up in front of the temple. Even if you come without knowing anything, there is no problem as there will be thorough explanations in Japanese. I don't think it's necessary to explain it here, so please go there and check it out. Why is there so much Japanese language and culture in Tainan? I feel deeply that this may be part of the reason.

(Translated by Google) A mausoleum that enshrines Sergei Shigemine Sergei, a naval officer who was killed in the midst of an aerial battle with a U.S. aircraft over Tainan at the end of the Daito Ao War and was killed in the air. Flying Tiger Mausoleum is a common name, the official name is Zhen'an. When the U.S. military aircraft shot him, he could save himself if he escaped immediately, but he was afraid that his own plane would crash into the village and cause serious damage, so Sergei Sugiura turned his nose. He raised it, flew to the suburbs, and then tried to escape, but there he became a person who was never returned to the pursuit of US military aircraft. Then, after the war, the epidemic here in Kaio dormitory became epidemic and plagued the villagers. One day, in the dream of a villager, a Japanese soldier reminiscent of Sergei Sugiura appeared and gave instructions on how to deal with the plague. Later, when the villagers carried out epidemic prevention activities as instructed, the plague disappeared from the village. As a result of this event, there was a movement in Kaio Dormitory to create a mausoleum to serve Sergei Sugiura, and this temple was built near the place where Sergei Sugiura's Zero Fighter crashed. There are several other mausoleums in Taiwan that enshrine the Japanese as a deity. Here, instead of incense sticks, we will offer three cigarettes. When worshipers come to the mausoleum, the service staff will call you "Kimigayo" or "Kaikou Kaba". This is the place where Petty Officer Sugiura, a former Japanese Navy Zero fighter pilot, is enshrined. I am grateful to the local people for honoring the Japanese pilot. Be sure to visit this shrine when you go to Tainan.

There are a few temples in Taiwan dedicated to Japanese gods, and there are many items and materials used by General Flying Tiger during his lifetime. The main group of believers may tend to be Japanese. Most of the materials (magazines, newspapers, etc.) in Miaoli are in Japanese, and the temple staff can understand A warm greeting would be better (stay for about 15 minutes)

I visited on April 30th. I was embarrassed to learn a few years ago that Taiwan has a more generous shrine for Japanese youth, and I was finally able to visit. I brought some dried sweet potatoes from his hometown and greeted the spirit. Although we couldn't communicate, I thanked the manager for coming and left. This is a place that I would like Japanese people to visit.

When I passed by the temple before, I was attracted by the welcome banner printed in Japanese hanging in front of the temple. I didn't think much about it... When I entered the temple today, I discovered: It turns out that General Flying Tiger is a Japanese flying officer. This is one of the very few Taiwanese temples dedicated to Japanese gods. After reading the relevant introduction in the temple, I found out that the flying tiger general's name was Shigeho Sugiura. During World War II in 1944, he fought with the U.S. military in the air. The tail of his plane was hit by a bullet and fell. In order to prevent the plane from falling to the ground, Haiwei A fire broke out in the dormitory, so it took some extra time to drive away. When he was parachuting to escape, his parachute was broken and he fell to the ground and died. Afterwards, local residents built a temple to worship in gratitude. The temple has a very special worship service on weekdays. Seven cigarettes are served every morning and the Japanese national anthem and the naval military anthem are played. The temple also has information on exchanges between Taiwan and Japan and records of General Flying Tiger's return to Japan. It’s a very special temple 😊

(Translated by Google) (2020.8. 17) Take the bus from the train station and walk a short distance to arrive. It is a temple in Taiwan that worships Japanese flying officers from World War II. The overall scale of the temple is small, but the historical stories are impressive. The stay will not be long, and those who are interested in World War II or folk belief stories are recommended to go. (Translated by Google) It makes me think a lot... The mausoleum is managed very neatly, and I felt that the local people valued it because of the smiles of the guides and the fact that they responded with gestures even if they could not understand the language. One of the rare Taiwanese temples to enshrine a Japanese person is Second Lieutenant Sugiura, whose jade was shattered during World War II. The statue wears a Japanese military uniform, unlike other Taiwanese gods who wear princely hats and princely shirts. There are cigarettes offered in front of the statue.

I've been wanting to visit for a long time, and I was finally able to visit. If you take the bus from Tainan Station, take bus number 3 or number 11, which takes about 30 minutes. I'm glad to see the welcome message in Japanese.
