I’m not sure what’s up with the raving reviews. If you like soggy pizza with a soupy tart tomato sauce then yea? We ordered pizza margherita, and the anchovies one and the doughs were completely flat and wet even though it was baked in the brick oven. It couldn’t handle the soppy mess. If they thicken the sauce a bit maybe the dough wouldn’t be like that?! Or try a sourdough crust to get it to rise. The sauce literally taste like blended tomatoes that wasn’t cooked down. It was very disappointing with the little amount of cheese too.

Lovely delicious and fresh tasting Italian food. Nice to see the photos of the chef on the wall whilst he was in Italy. Very nice waiting staff and good atmosphere. The pizza was very nice!

My first time here was holiday lunchtime and it was packed already. So I ordered to go but it was hard for me to wait to open the good smelly pizza box until I got to Kamo Riverbank to enjoy it. It's so yummy, I have been back since then, in and out.

Amazing little pizzeria in Kyoto. Matches some of the finest pizza in the US. Owners trained in Napoli and have the official Napoli pizza oven!!! I highly recommend!

As an Italian in Kyoto, I couldn't stay away from a pizza restaurant. The chef trained in Italy and we had a nice chat in Italian, which he spoke perfectly! We ordered chips, onion rings and the special pizzas of the day (with a sausage topping). Everything was good and came in big portions. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the pizza base was a bit too soft for my taste, I prefer it crispier as it's easier to eat with your hands!

Unassuming pizza place with the best tomato sauce I've ever had. Order the Margherita and call it a night. Get take-out if you can't get a seat. ... (Tiramisu and affogato were great as well, and the fried gnocchi in the frito misto was memorably tasty)

We had 2 great pizzas here for dinner. We got there at 8.30pm and even though they were closing at 9pm the service, pizza and atmosphere was still great. The pizza was really tasty, best we have had in our 2 week trip in Japan. We had diavola and capricossa pizza.

I absolutely loved the food here. When in Japan of course you have to try the local cuisine, but it’s also extremely worthwhile giving pizza a go because it is done to perfection here. This pizza was better than any pizza I’ve had anywhere else in the world. Authentic Neapolitan style with an incredible base and sauce. Very prompt and professional service as well with minimal wait time between ordering and receiving our food. I highly recommend this place, I’d give more stars if I could.

great pizza place in Kyoto, very small restaurant but as everything else around. Michelin starred. Definitely go if you want to take a nice break from Asian food.

The pizza is very delicious! We are thankful for giving us a seat even though the sign said full due to reservations. The knife could be a littler sharper, i had a few problems cutting through the soft and tasty pizza. And i felt being watched like a hawk by the waiters so overall i have to give a 4 out of 5.

Stayed at a hotel near this place and we were looking for something other than sushi. This pizzeria did not disappoint! The pizza is delicious and the service is kind and attentive. The crust is light and crispy and the ingredients are fresh and very tasty. I highly recommend this place in Kyoto for lunch.

Delicious little pizza joint. We needed a break from fish and steak, and this was the perfect solution. Chef was trained in Naples and it shows. Staff are very welcoming and speak excellent English.

Tried this place on a whim after a long morning of sightseeing and was not disappointed. Pizza was delicious and the staff were lovely. Tried the Margarita and Four Cheese and both were large Neapolitan style pies. Would definitely recommend for anyone craving some pizza or wanting a change from Japanese cuisine!

The pizza was delicious. It’s hard to come by quality pizza in Japan, but this definitely hit the spot. The service was quick and the staff was super friendly. One of them even spoke English. 10/10 would recommend

Delicious pizza, as good as in Napoli. Glad I decided to give this pizzeria a try after 2 weeks of sushi, ramen, and curry. The pizzas are thin and light; the sauce is made with crushed tomatoes.

The best Pizza Margherita I’ve had in my life! Tomatoes tasted fresh and cheese was divine. My husband and I loved it so much we went a second time and got a box for takeout. 🍕

Authentic Italian oven style pizzas with Italian flavours. The chef trained in Italy! We really enjoyed eating here. Staff were attentive, fast service and they were serving several customers.

Food was very very good. The service was notably slow though as it took forever for us to get their attention for the check. Very worth a visit though if you like neopolitan pizza.

Excellent pizza and not just for Japan, but period. Family really enjoyed some more familiar food after a week of eating Japanese food.

We had been traveling for days and we were craving some home food. We spotted the pizzeria across the street ,the entrance was inviting by having bags of authentic italian flour. We walked in and ordered 1 calabrese and 1 margherita. The pizze were incredible and Nago made us feel at home. He lived in Naples for 3 years so he learned everything about how to make a good pizza. Crust, ingredients, quality of the products were perfect. A very welcoming dining room , and very good value for money. Very recommended . grazie Nago!

Very good pizza with nice italian crust, and the size is also good (not to small like many restorant). Tumbs up Pizzeria Da Naghino!

The BEST pizza my husband and I had so far. It is real italian pizza, the owner is from Napoli. Suited for vegetarians, as you can order all pizzas without ham etc. The staff is really nice too. You should plan to reservate though, as it is always full!

Staff is super friendly. Had my daughter in a baby carriage and the staff accomodated us with giving us some space and baby utensils. The food was good too, especially the fried pizza. Overall a very satisfying dining experience.

Oh yeah, this pizza is good as hell. Can recommend the Bismarck and the Margherita, but I'll be back to try more. Nice cozy atmosphere. Big pizza oven in the centre of the restaurant.

I’m just writing a review to cancel out Lily’s one-star review, who clearly didn’t appreciate the difference between standard pizza and Neopolitan pizza. This pizza was even better than the pizza I had in Naples. Super fresh and tasty. I even finished my crust which I usually hand off to my partner. Highly recommended!!
