My absolute favorite experience in all of Hyogo! I enjoy Astro Boy so much and admire Osamu Tezuka, so it was perfect. I made a little animation, and spent hours just reading about his life. The staff were very friendly. The museum is also in the cutest little town! Definitely worth the trip from Osaka for me, but only because I love the history of Japanese animation. The place is small, but three floors of interesting facts. Took me 3 hours to do, but I read everything.

This was my first time in Osaka and there was no way I was gonna miss this. Osaka Castle? NOPE. Umeda Skytree? NOPE. But a 40th anniversary Macross event at the Osamu Tezuka Manga Museum COUNT ME IN. It took about 45 minutes from the Shin Osaka station, and another 15-20 minute walk from Takarazuka station. But this was well worth it. Now I’ll be the first to tell you I didn’t grow up on Osamu Tezuka’s manga’s or anime’s. But I sure as hell know of his importance to the industry. This place is all sorts of awesome, the bottom floor goes through all of his works. I loved the interactive displays that just brought his world to life (all those dials). When I grew up Robotech was one of THE cartoons to watch, as I got older I found out about the 1984 Macross: Do You Remember Love movie. I’ve been an fan ever since, so seeing all of the Macross art work on display was amazing. I had an absolute blast and will hopefully back for the Capcom exhibit later this year.

Not to be confused with a more generic manga museum. This is all the comics made by Osamu Tezuka. I personally didnt have a lot of experience with his work but did still enjoy everything here. However even if I was a big fan I dont feel there was a ton here. Lots of nice photo opportunities and cells that tell history, a few activities including making your own 2 frame animation, but that's it. You'll struggle to find more than an hour of content here. However, at 700 yen I say it's worth it, it gets you to a cool part of the city, and there is a lot if cool art to appreciate here.

Super amazing Macross exhibit, I drove down from Yokosuka and it was well worth the trip! Excellent staff and the facilities were immaculate. With the other exhibits I spent about 90 minutes in here total.

Cool places to have knowledge or story about Osamu Tezuka, master of Anime who inspired many artist. The building itself quite interesting with artdeco style. I think there are park that is a part of the museum, but sadly it was closed when i visited. I suggest to spend more than 45 minutes because there were plenty exhibit and interesting info on Osamu Tezuka and his many works. There also short movie studio which show regularly. Overall, nice museum with original merchandise store also. Although rather bit far from station.

if you're going during the corona period, be careful as there are time slots and you can't remain inside after the time is up. We came later and only had 40+ minutes inside and it wasn't enough to see everything even though some areas were closed. the museum itself is very informative and has English translations.

Twenty minutes by train from central Osaka station this cute little museum is a must see for every manga fan. The main exhibition is bilingual and contains lots of informations, personal items and old drawings. This will definitely bring you joy if you loved any of those cartoons/ mangas as a kid :)

Museum was compact but dense with history of Tezuka sensei. I learned some stuff, there is English translations for all of the placards which was nice. It's only about an hour worth of stuff to look at there so if you go out here just for the museum you might be disappointed.

Worth the train trip from Osaka if you're and Astro Boy fan or just a fan of animation and illustration. Was ¥700 entry fee for adults. The museum was small but packed with lots of things to look at. There is even a small theater that shows animated shorts.

I have visited this museum two times already. Even though it is small I enjoy the ambiance and the staffs are all friendly. I recommend you to bring your children here so they can experience how to draw with ‘Tezuka-sensei by their side as a teacher.’

Special event Capcom characters Tezuka style. COVID 19 precautions wear a mask, take your temperature, wash your hands and maintain social distance. From Hankyu Takarazuka or JR line arrive on foot in less than 10 minutes, or park your car nearby. It takes about 1-3 hours to completely see gallery. Currently comic books aren't available to read on site. Wheelchair access and elevators available.

I visited Tezuka Manga Museum and had great experience including draw cartoons, take picture with interesting statues, etc. However, the museum closes 17:00, so visitors should hurry up and go to cartoon library on 3rd floor. It provides almost every comic books of Osamu Tezuka.
