The tall guy with the broad shoulders is an awesome dude. Came to Takayama when it was a holiday so it was just me and him when the shop opened. Very cool friendly dude who works hard. Food was amazing. I already had a steak dinner like 20 mins before and decided to pop in here for a dish. Well I got carried away and ordered three orders of Gyoza. I shouldn't have eaten it all but it was so tasty that I just did. And I'd do it again. Chicken skin Gyoza was my favourite.

Located at the mouth of Dekonaru Yokocho. Went there at around 19:00 on a weeknight, so we were able to snag the big table outside. 😀 Beef and pork gyozas were great; the veggie one - not so much. The beef tendon was very good. 😋 Both red and white wine tasted okay as well. The master was very kind and gave us 2 fried gyozas for free. 🥟 Touch screen order and cash only!

This is the best gyoza restaurant I've ever been to. The service was amazing, the chef is so friendly and the locals are very cheerful. The experience was amazing. (The gyoza being the best part). The chef also lets you draw something for his welcome board. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Came here and didn't regret it! Ordered the deep-fried Takayama gyoza and Hide beef gyoza (and even received two fried Takayama gyoza as a freebie!) The chef/master was incredibly friendly, kind and conversational, and the restaurant was cute, chill and very cozy. The food itself was wonderfully tasty--I especially enjoyed the fried Takayama gyoza. The bottom of the gyoza was pan-fried to lightly crispy perfection, each gyoza was generously stuffed and the sweet-sour sauce on top was delectable. You can tell that the master loves what he does and enjoys interacting with and serving his customers--definitely one of my most positive experiences in Takayama. If you're in the area, come check out this restaurant--I guarantee that you'll leave with a full stomach, warm cozy feelings, and a smile on your face :)

very delicious gyoza created with locally sourced ingredients. super flavourful and right amount of skin to filling ratio! easy to order with English options on the vending ma hine. try the assortment to get a bunch of everything! (hida beef gyoza, grilled gyoza, vegetable gyoza in the order of the picture!)

A little overrated, in my opinion. It looks good but doesn't taste good. The Takayama gyoza is pretty good, and the beef and vegetables are no good. They are all meshed up. You can't taste the meat or vegetables inside. There is no chewing texture of the meat or vegetables. It is like smash potatoes inside. They are pretty greasy, so you get sick of it real quick, and no water is offered. There is only one guy working and limited seating, so the wait is long. The guy is nice and the presentation is nice. But overrated, not worth the long wait, in my opinion.

The best gyoza we ever ate. The staff was really friendly and helpfull. We were talking a lot together and they recommended us a lot of places to go in Takayama. I highly recommend this place. 😊😍 I really hope we will see each other again.

Amazing Gyoza and great service. Good variety of options. We’ll be back and if you’re in Takayama do your self a favour and come in for a taste.

We loved all the food!! The gyosas were excellent but the highlight was the bamboo noodle soup - fantastic! Service is very friendly. They prefer cash payment only.

This place really lives up to the reviews! Not only is the food great, the owner is a lovely guy and the place has all the charm you can ask for in a place like this. We tried lots of different gyozas and all of them were incredibly full of flavour!

Best gyoza I've had in Japan and the chef is really friendly as well. Highly recommend trying all 3 Gyoza as well as the miso karaage. Will certainly be back if I'm Takayama again.

The best meal we’ve had in Japan! We got the Gyoza platter with Hida beef, pork and veggie gyoza. The we’re amazing. The gyoza were so good we ordered more food. We then got a bamboo noodle soup and miso fried chicken. I couldn’t stop eating eating although I was full. The service was the best also! The owner and his coworker were helpful and friendly despite our lack of Japanese. This place is a must visit!

Wonderful food, drinks, and experience. We had the hida beef gyoza, meat gyoza, and chicken skin gyoza. They’re all delicious and quite gourmet. The house local sake (nihonshu) was also great. The staff are lovely and they make you feel welcome. There’s also a board where they showcase fun artwork made by customers all over the world. Don’t miss it when you’re in Takayama!

We waited two hours for the gyoza (limited seating) but they were indeed some of the best. The atmosphere is fantastic but the duo team behind the counter is outstanding. The food came out right away and it was inspiring to see such passion for food and genuine interest in getting to know the customers. Come early, stand in line for a bit, and walk out satisfied!

Hands down best gyoza I have had. Fun little ordering machine. Cheerful and friendly owner. Watch them get made is great. We had a selection of different type, all delicious. Not too much seating so get in early or you might have to wait if it is a busy night.

All the different gyoza we ate were super delicious. I think those are the most delicious gyoza I ate until now. Plus, the tenant is really nice and adorable! We spent a very nice time dining there. A must-do in Takayama !!

LOVE LOVE the gyoza And probably the most affordable dish in whole Takayama. We ordered the hida beef gyoza, and it was superb !! Very tasty, the meat is juicy, the skin is perfect, taste well balance, portion wise The veggie gyoza is also delicious, no complaint, although not all people could like the taste The place is very small, but cozy. The chef or owner are very friendly!! He gave us complimentary dish, the rose gyoza, and it is delicious, it comes up with this special oil which is tasty Oh, all the gyoza comes up with their own sauce, no need to add other Chef/owner is very kind and humble, he gave us warm pack with cute story panel on the back of it. If I go back to Takayama, will definitely visit this restaurant again !!

Very good, tasty and good quality price restaurant. The food was so delicious. The atmosphere and the chef was really friendly. The restaurant is quite small (max 15 seats) but it worth the wait. There is a large choice of gyozas and we tasted almost everything.

It is located in the alleyways of Takayama street food district. Easily one of the best gyozas I had in Japan. It was open till late at night. However, it might have changed due to the current covid situation.
