The grill beef is totally cold!!!! And it seemed to be left there for a long while before it was served to us. And we told the owner they just RECOOKED it till it was almost BURNT!! And the price is very high compare to the taste and SERVICE. The host seems very very AGGRESSIVE to the customers.....

Excellent meal. English menus available. Not as busy as restaurants on the Main Street but it’s not due to quality. Very satisfied with the Hida Beef.

We ordered two different Hidan Beef set, one steak and one steam. If you like Kobe beef, then Hidan beef steak is very similar. I’d like the steam one better though. Also you can try the local crafted beer too. Good service!

The owner is very nice and talkative! However, there are not many tables and they will turn you down with “No table” when they know you have to wait for long(As I saw this situation for few times). The dishes are great and the price is reasonable. There is a “Recommendation for 3 brands of Hida sake” on the menu which is worth to try!

The food here is really good, maybe the best I've had in Takayama. Came twice to dry both the hoba miso and the sukiyaki here. The waiting staff is doing their best to serve Japanese and foreigners alike, even though some foreigners are really challenging. The biggest challenge to the waiting staff (and sometimes making guests uncomfortable as well) however is the boss who's sitting rather useless behind the counter all the time. Food 5 stars, waiting staff 4 stars, boss 3 stars - I'll give the average here.

High quality Hida beef and good taste, nice owner, nice staff, very appreciate and highly recommened when you have visited Takayama.

Good quality of beef but a bit pricy. Very small plate. Owner is nice and can speak English ,but service is not thorough.

Wonderful shabu shabu. High quality hida beef. One of the best that I had so far.

Overall the hida meat taste goods. Try to go early to avoid disappoint the shop have limited seat. The owner are very friendly.

Wow! We wandered in here after a long, hot day on a Wednesday when lots of other restaurants were closed and had an amazing meal! What sweet, gracious service, too! Oishii!

I did really enjoy one of the side dish O ordered but their main dish was just so so for me.
