Fantastic intimate little bar he had a local Takayama pale ale and Japanese microbrewery IPA on tap when I was there, wide selection of Sake and good selection of Japanese whiskey. He's also a got sports on the TV and offers bar snacks like popcorn etc. Very friendly, loves a chat and spoke very good English. He was a very good host =)

Rising star in the Takayama area, amazing collection of local and domestic sake, and very knowledgeable as well. Atsushi is a fantastic host, very warm and welcoming, and his English is fairly good. Please give Kaza Craft Pub a visit, drinks are great and very good price!

I love this bar. The owner is very friendly plus ambiance is great to just relax and chill. I would recommend for you to try the hot home made plum sake! It is one of the best sake I've tried and drinking it warm during the winter season was really a good decision. If youre in Takayama, make sure to drop by Kaza!

The bartender was so friendly and walked us through different types of sake, Japanese whisky, and Japanese gin with samples. The draft beer was some of the best we've had on our trip. It's a relatively roomy bar. Highly recommend for a drink!

➕ points Good range of sake Chilled, vibe. Like a Melbourne hipster bar. Given a lot of choices before we chose our sake. Best sake is their limoncello. ➖ points Don't accept cards. This is 2018! Want payment with every drink. Would be good to have a tab. Lots of international people drinking in the bar.

Fantastic find! Besides having a deep knowledge of Japanese sake and whisky cultures, the owner is also warm and generous with local knowledge. Beautiful interior and amazing sound system and musical selection that won’t bleed eardrums or necessitate shouting over the music to talk. Be warned: this is foremost a sake bar although there is a tap of very fine local craft beer, and Japanese bottled (Heartland) Ale, as well as a finely curated selection of Japanese whisky and sake cocktails. But, what a perfect way to discover contemporary Japanese sake culture in Very traditionally-minded Takayama!

Very stylish and cozy craft sake place. We first had the local beer (as we are not so used to sake), but the bar tender was very nice and told as that we can try different kind of sake before we chose one. We had a pretty good evening here, trying local sake and having good conversations with the bar tender- his English is very good- we even got some recommendations for the next day(s) in Takayama. Definitely a recommendation to visit, even if you are unsure about trying sake!
