Cool small hotel, breakfast and the parking for free. The onsen was also OK. The hotel offers a shuttle bus for free to go to city center. There is a kombini in front of the hotel.

I've stayed at this hotel several times and I'm sure I'll stay at this hotel every time I visit Takayama. The only downside is the distance to the city center but they do have a shuttle bus service.

Nice and helpful staff. Hotel is quite far from city but that was no problem because they have shuttle service which operates few times per day. Furthermore, they also have satellite office close to Takayama station where you can leave your luggage. Onsen was very nice and I didn’t feel discriminated due to my tattoos like in some other Japanese hotels. Only flaw was the breakfast. Breakfast is very Japanese there’s no musli, beans, bacon or butter. Also selection of bread is very limited there was only croissants and no sandwiches or toast bread. Otherwise I would give 5s.

Very good accommodation for that price. Location little bit far from old town, about 3 km but they’re providing shuttle bus service. Personally I’ve used car to get there so there was no problem at all. Have 24 hours store across. Breakfast was good. So again maybe my best accommodation for that price.

Pros: Friendly &helpful staff. Shuttle bus to town. Clean rooms. Decent breakfast buffet. Relaxing onsen. Parking spaces available. Opposite family mart convenient shop. Bathroom has a line to pull and hang clothes to dry. Cons: walls quite thin as can hear walking steps from the corridor. A distance from town. Overall: awesome stay!

A very modern looking place in Central Takayama. The rooms are small but very comfortable and adequately furnished. The best thing about the hotel is their in-house onsen with a really nice rotenburo. Everything is sparkling clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. An ideal base if you are holidaying in this region.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during a round trip and quite enjoyed our stay there. The rooms are clean and the beds were quite comfortable. The hotel staff was very friendly and speaks english well. They were also very helpful regarding recommendations of where to eat and making reservertions. I have to give a special credit to receptionist Yukari-san and shuttle bus driver Mikado-san for their amiable service, helpfulness and the good conversations we had. As the hotel is a bit outside of Takayama you will have to rely on the shuttle bus service to get to town and back. Another big plus of the Tabino is the onsen inside the hotel, which is available in the afternoon up until midnight. If there is something to criticize, it would be the breakfast, which is not exceptional, but a rather 3-star hotel breakfast. Also, the rooms are a bit small, but this was case with almost all 3-star hotels we vacated in Japan. I would definitely stay there again, should I come back to Takayama.

Small but very nice hotel. Room was clean but very small. The best was the onsen (public bath), they have the indoor and outdoor hot pool which open until 1am everyday and in the morning started at 5am. Very good japanese breakfast.

I would recommend this hotel for every visitors! Their service is fabulous! They provide shuttle bus from hotel to station for pickup guest, they have free onsen and you can wear yukata for free.. Hotel staff very welcome and helpful.. My suica card was left in the room when i've already check out.. But staff help me to deliver my card to the shuttle bus.. It was free no charge even it was my mistake.. Breakfast is very good! I hope i could come back someday! Thank you

Best place, very convenient with the bicycle service you can visit all Takayama at ease. Also very cheap price with high quality service

Great location near the takayama old town. They provide free shuttle services to train station if you need one. Public onsen available at the hotel and Great buffet breakfast 👌

Hotel is close to Kamikochi. There is a shuttle bus that can bring you to Takayama station which is nice. Room was decent with everything we needed. Bathroom was a little small but big enough.

Excellent choice of hotel. Easy access to all the good stuff.

a very serene place … I like it for its serenity but not proximity to places. But there is a shuttle bus to make up for this.
