This place is so great, views of the snow capped mountains are spectacular. It took me about 25 minutes to walk up here from the town, but the views certainly made it worthwhile. Definitely recommended this when in Takayama!

A very nice place. You may choose to walk or drive to here. Be aware that the road was very dark at night. A very great view of the Takayama City.

View is nice. Otherwise perhaps it's only worth going when local trees start blooming. The park is this american style grass patch of nothing but grass. The few trees may give this park new life once they bloom but it will be later than March.

Lovely walk up to the SkyPark…and what a superb view of Takayama town. It’s not a very big park and there’s just a walking track but the view OFSS with the trek. You can see the 3500 mountains on a clear day!

Short walk from the train station, bonus: Starbucks along the way?

A small park with good observation deck for seeing the Japanese alps. About 20-25 mins walk from the takayama station in the direction opposite to most of the tourist spots in takayama (hence much less crowd). In fact when I visited on a Saturday afternoon I was the only one present in the entire park. Apparently a bear was spotted here 2 months ago but since it's now peak winter and they may be hibernating so I felt safe. The walk up the small hill is easy only about 60m elevation gain. It had snowed recently so there was fresh snow and therefore I didn't slip. Otherwise be careful of walking up and down the icy road.

We went up to the park in the evening hoping to catch the sun set. However the west side of the park was covered by buildings and trees. The east side reveals as much of the range of mountains from the north to the south as it could show. This is a nice quiet park. Besides us, there were four students training and a lady walking her poodles at the park. An excellent place to retreat from the touristy town below.
