The fried rice and fried chicken are amazing. Meal is around 1000¥, with a salad, a pudding and a soup next to the main dishes. The place is held by two kind persons who both speak English to a certain extent. Menus are available in English. Service is fast, and you can even leave a message or a drawing in a Golden Book. The atmosphere is really good, with many photos of previous people on the walls. You can even have your photo taken if you wish. I definitely recommend it if you are staying in Takayama !

Absolute must try! Family owned by a sweet older couple. The hospitality was amazing and we even got really cute origami to take home! The fried chicken was delicious- highly recommend! And the dumplings were so good too! Definitely a great all round experience :)

Went here after seeing the bountiful great reviews of this restaurant ran by a wholesome family of 3. Food was good and fresh. While some may say the food came out slow, I do appreciate them notifying us beforehand via a sign that explains the slight delay. Nevertheless we spent less than an hour to eat here and we ordered 5 dishes in total, given that 3 people run the whole place the cooking time is understandable and the taste makes it all worthwhile. We struggled abit to consume the delicious fried chicken with a pair of chopsticks and a spoon, the staff quickly noticed this and promptly provided a fork and knife for easier eating without us saying a word. All in all a good dining experience that like many say is cozy and warm. We even got sweets and an oragami box as a gift :). A place well deserved of the positive reviews and also had a wide collage of diners of all sorts of backgrounds paste along the interior of the restaurant. I am quite happy to be part of the sea of smiles within this building. Would definitely dine here again if I ever get a chance to! 😍

Delicious food but more importantly, lovely people running the restaurant. It was my first time going to Japan and I was not able to speak any Japanese, but the couple was very accommodating and I appreciate the english menu. I've eaten Chinese food my whole life and I was very impressed by the quality of dishes being served here. Most of all, I was touched by the kindness and enthusiasm of the chef who showed off the pictures of his patrons from all over the world. They even gave me an origami as a keepsake. Thank you for this unforgettable memory!

Excellent Chinese food, reasonably priced, all English menus. Fried chicken is like nothing I've tasted before! Owners very accommodating and friendly. Little hard to find, it's a corner restaurant off the main street. Look for the wall of customer photos inside. They also have takeaway options. Great find!

Having a good experience in the restaurant. The restaurant is not very big, yet they put very few seats in it, which makes me feel cozy. Also, instead of keep packing ppl in the restaurant, they tend to keep limited customers in order to serve better. The food are great, they all cooked right after my ordering, so it is fresh and hot. I like the noodles as it is similar to the Hong Kong style “fried noodles”, crispy noodles with seafood and vegetables toppings. I believe it will surprise many foreigners if they never try before. I can really feel the empathy delivered by the owners (I think the 2 staffs are the owners?). The first time is they offer me to order a half set of fried chicken, it will be too much for one person to have 6 pcs ...The second time is when they delivered the fried chicken, they have given me 4 pcs. They explained it is an “apology” of making me wait too long time... I was surprised and feel grateful that they treat the customer in such manner. Last but not least, it is quite interesting that they will take a photo for their customers after the meal, and some of them are sticked on the wall. You can see many smiley faces. I would highly recommend this restaurant to u. The food and the service are good.

Pretty near to where I stayed. Be early if you don't want to wait for your table. If you have NO patience for GOOD FOOD, dont come here. Every dish is PREPARE ala minute with ❤ My personal favourite is the fried chicken. Tender and juicy.

Simply but delicious I always have problem with Soba and ramen which are always too salty for me. This Chinese restaurant is my good choice. Clean, yummy and very good hospitality.

This place is just great! The couple that run it are so lovely and kind. The menu is fully translated. The food is delicious (best dumplings ever), the portions are generous and the prices are incredible. They accept cards :)

It's a small but cozy restaurant owned by a couple. The atmosphere was relaxing people in the restaurant seemd to enjoy their meal. The owner kindly asked me if I can accept to wait 30 mins for my order. As I waited, one of the owner gave me beautiful origami as presents. Even it was a small gesture but made me feel so warm. I took out the meal and enjoyed it in a hotel room. The food is well cooked. I really recommend this restaurant if anyone want to eat Chinese cuisine.

Run by the most beautiful people, this restaurant serves the best fried chicken we have ever had! We walked in an hour before closing, everything was still made fresh and we were told to make sure we slowed down and enjoyed our meal. This is a 10/10 must try for anyone who likes fried chicken!

I was surprised I was the only and probably first customer during dinner time. I arrived at around 7pm and left at 8pm and there were still only us there. I felt it was kinda of over-rated because the food was ok. The pork dumpling was a bit too oily, and the sweet and sour pork a bit too sweet. The fried rice was good, but not out-of-the-world good. And the price is slightly higher than the value of the dishes. The free dessert kinda breakeven that. Service wise, yes, as per what everyone had described, the couples are very sweet and warm. We were a bit overwhelmed when the lady kept passing us the books of drawings from past customers to us. They were some awesome drawings, but it was one too many. I guess it was because we were the only one there and she felt obliged to try to small talk with us and kept us occupied while the food was getting ready. It was a bit awkward when all we wanted was to have some rest and also keeping to ourselves.

Very expensive. But the food was good. Service was nice. Atmosphere was family setting. Just that the price is really on the very high side. Two fried rice and 3 pieces fried chicken cost around 3000 yen. That's too much.

The Food When you are in Japan, Chinese food is usually not the first choice that comes to mind. But my friends and I found a particular restaurant close by call Chahan Hana. It was highly rated so we decided to give it a try. We ordered a few dishes. - pepper fried rice - mabodoufu - fried egg plant with Chinese chili sauce - fried chicken The pepper fried rice was good, it actually went well with the maboduofu. The fried egg plant with Chinese chili sauce was not bad, a bit too much sauce. The highlight was actually the fried chicken. It was light battered but still have a good crispiness to it. They also gave us complimentary vegetable soup, though the soup was a bit too salty. It was interesting to see that the standard portion size was smaller. But since is Japan I guess it makes sense. All in all, the food was good, though I would not say is as hyped up as some of the other reviews. The Miscellaneous The restaurant is in a typical corner location with some interesting decor. You might not pay too much attention to it or know is highly rated till you look it up. The inside is not super big, but has some compelling decor (photos of all customers visited?) The service and staff were good as you might expect from Japan. Though the wait time for our food was fairly long for a few dishes. Their menu has a good variety of items, but is not so big that is overwhelming. Prices are also not too bad, and with a little extra, you can also get an upsize. It is worth checking out the restaurant if you happen to be in the area.

🫤 Don't bother with this place, it is overrated. Parking outside and toilets inside. Seems very clean and the food was actually really good, but the service was slow and at exactly 3pm we were yelled at (and so we're other people), to get out as they were closing. We arrived at 2:15, took 10 minutes...
