It's a must try if you can.. Don't miss this friendly chef and good ramen

Jingoro ramen was recommended to us by our hostel owner. We really wanted to eat ramen for dinner. We went there at 9:00 PM and we didn’t have to stand in line. All the people eating were locals. Takayama is a small town and most of the restaurants are closed at night. It was my first time to see a ramen shop that is being run by ladies. We got the big bowl for ¥900. Service was very fast and the ramen was yummy that had a light taste to it. You can also adjust the taste by grating some garlic, which we did. They also served some fried skewered pork which was their specialty. I recommend this restaurant if you really want to try the real Takayama ramen.

Good local shoyu ramen shop. The pork cultet is the must try and the cabbage that comes with it is crisp and sweet! Ask the friendly lady boss for the English menu. Takayama’s shop close pretty early and they open from 7pm. Don’t forget to check their opening schedule from their door to make sure you don’t miss trying this!

Best ramen I had in Takayama. A very local joint. Sees only locals coming in except me. Run by 2 women at any shifts. The night shift pairs are always very friendly, very pleasant and always, always come with a big smile. Went there 3 times, during my 4D3N stay, with the last time being 1.5 hrs just before I leave Takayama. Soup is light type, yet very flavourful. The pork slices comes with a layer of thick fats. Straight, thin noodles this well with the soup. Tried with local beer and it works so heavenly. Too bad, they don't have onsen (seasoned) eggs. Only hard boiled eggs.

The food is good. You can adjust the flavor to your liking with sauces and even fresh garlic with a mini grater that you can find on the side of the table ... but if you go at night you’d have to deal with the smoke from other customers but it isn’t so bad because they have good ventilation... another good thing is that it’s open till late in a town that goes to bed so early...

Their ramen, the texture of noodles are firm and the soup are rich flavour with pork. However be early if you want to give a taste as they only operate for 2 hours in afternoon and start selling noodles start from 9pm until sold out which normally can be sold out within 1 hour. You can give a try the noodles with local beer as well.

Yum A great Ramen restaurant in Takayama. It serves a variety with a clear broth but with a great taste. Lighter than other ramen I have had. The pork was great and the prices were reasonable. Service was great!

Good service and English menu available. They have two choices of ramen with different stock. Be prepared to wait for a while during lunch hour.

Delicious Ramen recommended to us by hotel owner. Ladies who ran the restaurant were very kind and helpful despite us only speaking limited Japanese. Menu was available in English too. Good price and tasty dinner. Pork in the Ramen was the best I've ever tasted, very flavourful and slow cooked.

Delicious and hearty ramen prepared and served by two lovely, kind ladies. The broth was light yet flavourful and the pork incredibly tender. The pork kushikatsu we ordered as a side was especially good. The restaurant became very busy during our visit with many non-Japanese speaking tourists; both ladies worked very hard to serve everyone on time and were very apologetic and sincere regarding delays. Was a lovely experience overall for our first meal in Takayama.

Delicious ramen at a great price. The two ladies that served us were lovely and understanding when we couldn't speak any Japanese.

The noodle is delicious and pork is tender Service is friendly The local beer is highly recommended too

flavourful ramen and excellent pork skewer. each was seasoned perfectly with the right amount of crunch and juiciness. Place was clean and bright and the ladies serving me were very sweet. noodles are on the lighter side compared to the usual tonkotsu or shio or shoyu ramen you get in big cities. noodles are thinner and more reminiscent of chinese egg noodles. still v satisfying and value for money.

Best chāshū I've ever had in my life. The Chāshū-men is my recommendation 🤤❤️ The Gyoza are good too, deep fried and very crispy. The business hours are not thaz great, compared to chain restaurants in big cities, but here you can taste the true passion and experience of the chefs

Great ramen place. English menu is available and the ladies running it knew English as well. The ramen was nice with super tender pork, and soy and broth based soup. Recommended!
