    Very humble izakaya kind enough to let us in on a rainy night during the spring festival. It was great - the hida beef and tuna sashimi are wonderful. We ate till we were stuffed and the prices were very inexpensive.

    Walking off the cold snowy street into this unassuming warm izakaya with a single man working there to take us on a culinary journey was an experience I won't forget. My partner and I walked in, ordered a choya and soda and beer each and picked a bit of everything off the menu. Everything was delicious! Our favourite place so far, recommend (⁠ ⁠◜⁠‿⁠◝⁠ ⁠)⁠♡

    We are so happy to have stumbled across this place - as others have said, we were the only tourists in there so definitely feels like a hidden gem/authentic experience! Giving it 5 stars because the price of the food is SO reasonable for the quality you get. Our total was around 3200 yen for 2 people with hida beef grill, 4 skewers (shitake and pumpkin were delicious), vegetable tofu salad and the miso aubergine (also amazing). Its just the chef and a lady who run it so they're very busy but were pleasant! Highly recommend.

    The eggplant miso dengaku is superb, as are the dumplings. Nice local bar atmosphere. English menu available. We ended up here on recommendation of another restaurant which was already full. A little difficult to find, the sign only says "brasserie". But very happy we ended up here

    Had the most amazing dinner here. The tuna sashimi melted in my mouth and the hida beef on the leaf with miso sauce is a Takayama must try. It was such an incredible meal and we tried a little bit of everything. Very authentic must try restaurant if you’re in Takayama. Can’t recommend enough everything was so delicious!!!

    Awesome izakaya for sake and "light" dinner. My fave is charcoal grilled hida beef on hoba miso. The place itself has horigotatsu seating arrangement - - where the low-table has a recessed floor beneath it so that people can sit in a western style (stretch out the leg) or sit on tatami mat.
