Great family ran ramen restaurant. Very popular with locals and traveller waiting their train. Don't expect it to be a fashionable place, it is a typical popular Japanese restaurant where you are expected to speak Japanese

Great soba noodles(100% buckwheat supposedly). Had one with chicken bits in it and it tasted great for 1100 yen but it was a big bowl so pretty good for the price.

The store is just besides the east exit of Takayama station, very convenient. Ordered an ebiten udon and a Hida beef curry udon. The noodles are all called udon yet they’re in different type and texture, the curry udon is soft and the shrimp udon is chewy, both tastes really nice. The flavor of the soup is rich and spectacular. Really a good option for cold days.

Bad service.Wait for food 1 hour on the table and they passed our queue to other table for two time.

We visited right before they were about to close during the afternoon shortly after arriving in Takayama. The Udon was delicious, service was great. also to mention is the unique decorations in the restaurant. Have to visit while in Takayma.

Ten-zaru soba was the best soba I’ve ever had, amazing texture, had a great amount of bite. The dashi was very flavorful and all the tempura pieces were delicate and well-done. We were in a bit of a rush to catch the train and they totally accommodated our tight schedule - service was so great!

Wow. We visited this restaurant by chance and their noodles were amazing. We had Zarusoba and cold Udon. Udon noodle was chewy and soft. I strongly recommend this restaurant.

Good service and wonderful atmosphere. Notably, this restaurant serves "juwari soba," which is made only with buckwheat and without wheat. While it is prepared in the same water as other noodles, it is a good choice for those that avoid wheat noodles.
