I came to this Family Mart to buy some beverages and snacks before going to Shirokawago. Then, I wanted to try the newest Fried Chicken Pringles flavor, and at the moment of ordering at the food stand. The cashier instead of asking me respectfully or formally as ordinary people do, the cashier screamed at me, “Which one do you one!” in English for two times. Honestly, this is the first time I have experienced this aggressive behavior in Japan. I think Family Mart should recruit people who can handle real pressure and be able to deal with foreigners in that particular branch, not with this bad service and attitude.

We wanted to get something at night to munch. We went there out of the curiosity due to the bad review. When we pay our items, the lady cashier with short hair wearing mask was rude. She does not only drop but throw the coins in my hands, the coins deflected and dropped one yen in the gap between the counter and bun steamer. We asked her to pick the one yen for us. She used a chopstick and swiped the yen under the bun steamer instead. We went off laughing for trying out the worst customer service ever.

How is this store in Japan?! The rudest staff ever (not just for Japan standard!) 1.pushed the paid items to guests (i brought my own shopping bag) 2. Threw the plastic spoon to guest after asked for a spoon for the yogurt. 😱😱😱

The staff here is super rude especially by Japanese standards and it is absolutely hilarious. The poor American lady in front of us was trying to buy alcohol, and in Japan they verify your age by making you tap "yes" to a thing on the screen that asks if you're of legal age (it's basically an honor system). The cashier kid kept yelling at her to "SAY YES" and of course the lady had no idea what was going on, until she said "YES" in an absolutely terrified voice like she was admitting guilt to some horrible crime. Then the cashier told her "no, press yes on the screen in front of you." One of the funniest things I've ever seen, 5 stars.

The staff young fat guy wearing glasses was really rude. We were waiting in the line and he yelled many times and chased my wife and son to pay other cashier in spite of we were the next que. . All customers in the store was confused and frighten with his manner. This guy make me thought that he discriminate ASEAN tourist, so disappointed with familymart brand. By the way, the rest of staff were ok. They were try to help us with calm. For other travelers, I would like to recommend you to go to 7-11 instead if you don't want to face terrible situation same as me. Furthermore, I need explanation from Familymart why you let's staff like this work with you. There were other negative comments about this guy but nothing improve. Shame on you FAMILYMART..!

The saleswoman is so rude that you cannot believe you’re in Japan. She gushed us away with inappropriate hand gesture just bc we stayed a bit at the counter collecting our changes.

There is a very rude and impatient lady that works at this place. I've gone into family marts in the bigger cities like Tokyo and Osaka and they have had a lot more patience.

I came here out of curiosity because never before had I seen a supermarket with such adverse feedbacks. To be fair there was a good selection of stuff, the staff did say thank you when we left, and the guy wasn’t that fat. The staff overall attitude was rude, but we got shouted at twice only.

The staff was very rude, we was queuing for make payment. But when is our turn, she call the people that stand behind of us. She though we are not queuing then we try to explain to her, she totally ignore us. The we queue again. Again is our turn, we try to give small charge, but she push back the money for us and ask us go go go. Really spoiled our mood at takayama 😠😠😠

Great selection of takeaway food especially as it’s located across the street from the bus terminal and train station. They accept credit card which isn’t common for Japan. There’s a washroom available for customers.

Atms dont work for international passes! Go to postoffice or seven 11 bank instead!
