This is an underground restaurant located in the old town. Look for a fried egg in a frying pan near the well. I went without a reservation early on a Sunday at 6pm. We had fish soup, roast pork, pumpkin salad, and house wine. It was delicious. And the homemade dark bread was especially delicious! Apparently you can also take it home. The staff at the store were kind and the calm atmosphere in the basement was nice.

The name of this place translated as "Grandma's house" and that's exactly how I felt. The place is cozy, waitresses are great and the food tastes homemade. I had the grandma's Sunday roast, which was absolutely delicious. The black bread and butter they brought tasted so fresh it was unbelievable. Definitely a great place to try the local cuisine.

The restaurant was recommended by a local Estonian, it offers local grandma-made Estonian food. Most of the dishes are made from the simple ingredients but well done. Ordered a main and a soup which costs 19.5 euros. It’s a comfy restaurant. :)

Typical Estonian cuisine with excellent dishes and friendly service. Small but nice - very good wines!

Very tasty traditional Estonian food in a very special and cozy place. The location is great, very central. It is inside a cave, which creates a wonderful atmosphere. We went in summer and it was pretty warm inside. It is recommended to book a table well in advance because it gets very busy.

Very corteus place and nice atmosphere. We get there for dinner without being hungry but it was our last night in Tallinn and didn't want to miss this place. It was a bit late but they accommodated us with a smile and were served and apetizer while the main dishes were prepared. The food was only three stars because despite the nice appearance it was not special (or at least as special as it was rated). We tried the Chicken supreme and Grandma's pate. Anyway it was a nice experience to try the place.

Little Estonian restaurant with a vintage decoration which remains an old Estonian cottage. The menu is strictly Estonian typical soaps, stews and roasts. It was like travelling back on time. Definitely need to taste!

Good simple food, well prepared. Nice authentic servers, too. Only downside: portions could be bigger and for people from Germany or similar countries it's a bit boring, since it's something you would eat at home: potatoes, sausages, eggs etc. But it's well prepared, so if you like this, definitely go here.

Down below Street level you'll find this gem of a restaurant. A small menu that allows the hosts to provide excellent local Estonian food. Try the Elk stew as a main course washed down with a bottle of FEST Estonian sparkling wine. Friendly service and great value too.

We left this place until last to eat on our Tallinn break. I was amazed by the food a real taste sensation looks very simple but tastes so great (Sunday roast beef main is in the picture) very homely setting and very lovely friendly staff. We did not make a reservation but we were not turned away and they managed to squeeze us in many thanks for sending us home with a big smile!

Warm, inviting, and ring your soul delicious. Whether solo or in a small group, this restaurant will deliver. Appreciate the ambiance, the humble, yet satisfying service and of course- traditional Estonian foods that seem to transport you. I think of the scene in Ratatouille when the critic tastes his food and the transcendent flavors bring him back to a memory of home. I had the pork roast with fried potatoes, sauerkraut, mustard sauce and blood sausage. The meat was perfectly "melt in your mouth" tender and all things were a harmonious blend. I also had dessert to go - and yes- also worth it. Finding a table around 2pm for lunch was easier than dinner time, though any time would be ideal here if you can get a seat. Highly recommended.
