The ugliest (or weirdest) situation that can happen when you enter a restaurant is that none of the staff will even look at you. Entering the Naitulus, that's exactly what happened: 4 staff members between the bar, the entrance and the cashier, a waiter passed by twice, but as I said no nod, no words, no look, nothing. Fortunately it lasted only a couple of minutes because we were leaving. One of the staff made us sit at the bar, which was fine with us because we wanted to eat light and fast. At the bar what was probably the manager (or even the owner?) took our order, and was professional and very polite despite the fact that the restaurant was full. The wine (a rose primitivo) very good and perfect temperature . My gin and tonic (ca va sans dir Hendrik) also made very well. We ordered an octopus and a grilled sea bream. My octopus as a taste not bad even if the side dish (apart from the potatoes the rest unrecognizable) was full of red dust that scared for the amount, as if it had fallen on the plate. The very small portion, despite having the price as a main course had the characteristics of a starter (photo). The sea bream was nice and crispy in the crust, good taste but dry in the flesh. The sea bream has not been cleaned, something unacceptable for the local type and for the level they want to have. And we were not even brought water with lemon to wash our hands, or at least wipes with lemon (as the table next to us). The place is very nice good selection of wines and cocktails, but the experience tonight is at best 3 stars, especially for the manager / owner who cared throughout our dinner to make us feel good. The wait at the beginning and the not cleaning the fish are worth at least 2 stars less.

I was really disappointed. The seafood was mostly awful. The French oysters were good and the lobster was well prepared (bought live, killed instantly and snap frozen - well cooked once thawed) but the seafood platter was BAD. Obviously all from the ☠️DEEP FREEZE☠️ - tasteless, gritty and badly flavoured (putting dried origano on shellfish is a crime). The green lipped muscles were especially sad - I couldn't eat them. The crab and crayfish were just for show - tasteless, dry flesh. It was just so overpriced. I really thought some effort would have been made to get seafood from Norway or Sweden but no - the freshest thing was from France. Having said that the wait staff are incredible - knowledgeable, warm yet professional and charming. The one gold star is for them. The decor and vibe are nice enough also but the expectation only adds to the disappointment of deep freeze, long dead seafood.

Seafood and grill restaurant at the heart of Old Tallinn. Well thought interior with rooms each having its own look and feel can accommodate company of any size big or small and let them have their private area. One can observe the kitchen through a glass wall. The service is outstanding. Staff are friendly, attentive to minor details and provide great hospitality. The menu is well balanced. All dishes are of a high quality and won't disappoint. We had many dishes and enjoyed all of them. Cream fish soup was delicious. It has two types of fish: salmon and sturgeon. Soft creamy texture nuanced with capers. Homemade pasta with seafood was rich in flavours. Pumpkin sauce, squids, green mussels and shrimps decorated with red caviar and spiced with chili peppers. Fish and chips were really good. Crispy crust and tender fish fillet. We also liked burger. The meat was good, brioche puffy buns, and tasty sause. Tuna fish tataki and tartare were both delicious. Next time I will order the signature Nautilus seafood platter which boasts amazingly fresh delicacies served on crushed ice, including snow crab, oysters, northern prawns, different kinds of mussels and raw fish. Definitely a worthy place.

Food was delicious and service amazing. Too bad that they had finished a lot of things in the kitchen and the prices were higher than the ones we found online (and we paid 9€ for 2 bottles of water). We'll definitely go there again anyway, probably asking for tap water.

We walked past this place and I’m so happy we went in! We got one of the best seafood platters we’ve ever gotten in here! It was extremely quiet but I think we went in at an odd time of the day, around 3/4? Staff we’re friendly and service was fast and efficient! Location is easily accessible from the main square, an easy stroll. Lovely interior also!

We went there to celebrate my birthday and it was the most uncomfortable exprience ever. From the moment we walked in the door and from the moment we left. Our waiter was very arrogant and rude from the start, made us feel unwelcome and awkward the whole time. They were out of all of the meat options on the list (pretty weird on saturday night), but overall the food was really good! Seafood was fresh. Such a shame :(

We had a work event here and the food here is definitely worth a try. We ordered 2 seafood platters, scallop ceviche, burger, steak, fish and chips, risotto, octopus and I can't remember what else and they were all pretty good dishes. Only thing for me was some of the mussels served weren't fresh and tasted bad. Apart from that everything else was good.

We ordered the seafood platter but the quality is not good. Crabs and prawns are not fresh, a bit too salty. In overall quite disappointing based on past reviews.

A very thought through interior and excellent staff. And that’s about that. Food is not bad in general. But it is certainly not worth the very high price. The octopus dish was very poorly executed. The octopus itself was good, but there was only one tentacle. The vegetable side that was served with was neither good neither it went well with the octopus.

Great food and very nice Interieur. We had the local fish plate and fish & chips. Everything was fresh and delicious. The waiter was great and explained everything. The interior looks great, very modern and classic at the same time. At lunchtime it was very empty, in the evening there are probably more people. All in all a good experience, except for the mussels that have got delivered late that day so we couldn’t try them.

Solo diner for lunch. Limited menu at lunch. I had my heart set on Lobster Bisque, which I had seen on the menu outside and the traditional black bread. They were able to accommodate my request. It was very good. The bar tender and only server took my order. He was very accommodating. The menu was available in English.

Really delicious fresh seafood in a casual yet upscale environment. The service was great and I can understand why this is one of the highest rated seafood restaurants in the area. We had the lobster bisque and the scallop ceviche to start and both dishes had really good flavor. For the mains we had the seafood platter and the blue mussels; you can just tell when things are fresh and we were really happy with the entire dining experience

Absolutely loved the place: interior, atmosphere, staff and, of course, delicious food. Fusion dishes & combinations of flavours are making it unique. Oh, toilet is a piece of art with cute details :)))) Will definitely come back once in Tallinn again.

Every kind of seafood had their own special taste and been cooked separately 😍 so amazing, even yhe oister was good i i dont really like those 😂 The service was just flawless and very nice. Fresh seafood, definitely recommendable. It is located in the old historic part of the city center. To walk there is already worthwhile enjoying the most famous parts of Estonias capital. The seafood platter and the fresh oysters were really tasty and delicious.

Every thing about my visit to The Nautilus was fantastic. My girlfriend and I went for date night and ordered 2 of each oyster, scallop ravioli and for main courses tuna and Octopus. Every dish was delicious. The staff was very friendly, attentive and spoke excellent English. As we were leaving one owner said “wait you can’t leave yet” and got a white rose for my girlfriend. The Nautilus is my favorite restaurant in Estonia (my girlfriend is Estonian so we have a large sample) and I will definitely go again the time I’m in Estonia.

Very fresh seafood and kind staffs accompanied with amazingly beautiful interior design.

A decent cuisine, I enjoyed it, yet nothing out of extraordinary. The interior is pretty cozy. Yet, the pearl of the place is one specific waiter. He's like from cabaret or something, it seems. If you're into something extraordinary, you could be receiving laughter in your face with funny comments after a question about drinks or other specifics. This kind of service was a total surprise.
