Please like my review if helpful 👍 The Russalka Memorial is a beautiful monument erected to those lost when the Russian ship so named sank in a storm and is not really a war memorial as others believe. The monument is really well maintained as are most public erections, parks and open spaces. You can reach the Memorial down the end of a walkway through the adjacent park by the seafront

This is a nice monument erected at the start of the twentieth century, commemorating the sinking of a Russian ship called "Rusalka" [Mermaid] at the end of the nineteenth century. This was the first monument in Estonia to be made by an Estonian sculptor.

This is closer to the beach and would be great spot for resting in the evening. Come with your family and kids and enjoy the stroll around the memorial.

Nice monument, all the explanations are written in Russian, English and Estonian. Of course the monument got the name of all those who died written in Russian. As usual in Estonia, everything around is clean and organised.

Walking along the Pirita Tee in the summer is a must. It's a stunning bit of coast and this monument is easily found along the route. The monument commemorates those lost at see and features an angel as a finial and Christian Orthodox symbolism.

An interesting memorial that varied from the typical types of memorial you’d find in cities, based around a shipwreck. It’s also located along a very nice coastal walk in Tallinn that I’d also recommend

On a beautiful day it's worth it to go on a walk from Kadriorg palace to see this statue of an angel holding an Orthodox cross in memory of those who perished at the end of the 19th century in the shipwreck of Russalka

The final sight of our free Tallinn walking tour is the imposing Russalka Memorial. It was erected in 1902 to commemorate the 177 soldiers who perished when the Russian ship Russalka (or Mermaid) sank en route to Finland in 1893. The memorial features a bronze angel standing on tiptoe, holding aloft an Orthodox cross in the direction of the Gulf of Finland. The rough granite pillar on which the angel stands evokes turbulent conditions at sea. It is often customary for Russian-speaking couples to lay flowers at the foot of the monument on their wedding day.

Very nice view with sea. Very beautiful statue honoring 200 men who died in shipwreck of panzer ship Rusalka. Part of Estonia-Finland history from the end of 19th century. Actual shipwreck happened 25 km south from Helsinki and the wreck was found 2003.

A memorial to the crew of the Russalka battleship that sank in 1893. The monument is located near the beach, from where it can be seen at the end of the park road in Kadriorg park. The monument is a bronze angel on a granite plinth holding an Orthodox cross towards the shipwreck. The base of the statue symbolizes a compass, and the names of the crew members are inscribed on the pillars surrounding the statue. There is no information board, but you can find more detailed information about the statue online. No entrance fee, always open.

On the promenade by the sea, this is a good place to sit and enjoy the sea views, ships going into or leaving the port. Those intersection in running or jogging can also do so. Did not see any toilets nearby

Nice monument, at the sea shore. It looks beautiful from the gardens of the palace, it takes about 10 min to walk from there to here

It's a nice place to reach by any transport. Or simply take a walk from the centre - it's not that far away, in my opinion (if you also enjoy moving by foot). A lovely stroll along the seashore... just hope that there won't be any stinky seaweed - problems 😅🤭 Look around, it's a great view, plenty of benches and happy- looking people. Enjoy your life ☀️

A very nice small park where people can relax and have good time enjoying the view of the sea. I took a break there on a bike ride.

Nice place with the history. So when you visit Kadriorg Palace, it's worth going to the sea and watch the monument.

It’s lovely location near the seaside in Tallinn. After the renovation city opened miles of new walking, running areas near the sea. On the trail or road to be correct you will find multiple kid’s play areas together with leisure areas where you can enjoy the sun in different positions ak sunrises and sunsets or just sunbathing on the sand strip. Also very crowded and popular location.

The area is nice to walk. The promenade leads to this monument and beyond. A small beach is maybe 30 meters away. A great place to be with nice weather. In the end, though, the monument is just a monument.

A stunning statue surrounded by beautiful lanterns that give you a kind of Narnia vibe. I would definitely recommend anyone to visit this memorial.
