Two stars. Yes. Do not get me wrong their beer is 4+ for sure. But. Advertising as Texas BBQ and being out of brisket AND ribs just isnt right. Went there for good dinner and beer. So just beer and a sausage. The waitresses where good and helpfull. The waiter just arrogant and annoying. If you go for dinner call them before if they have food!

They have various interesting beer flavors that I've never tasted before. The guide who gave us the tour through the brewery was very friendly and answered every question we've had. I definetly recommend a visit if you're interested!

We had an awesome experience here. Whilst most breweries are located in an old dodgy warehouse, the facility at Pohjala is 1st class. Furthermore, the waitstaff is friendly and happy to provide samples of their beers on draft before ordering, and the BBQ is 100% legit! If you're a craft beer geek, like me, or just like good BBQ, Pohjala Brewery & Tap Room is a must on a trip to Estonia. TOP TIP: Don't bother walking in the cold (we visited in November) or waiting around for the bus (1.50 EUR per person each way) as it's only 4 EUR each way from the center of Tallinn's Old Town via the rideshare app, Bolt. I hope readers will find my review and photos helpful. Follow @tabestravels for more travel tips.

Best BBQ in the world! Puts what I’ve had in Texas and North Carolina to shame. Craft beer selection is awesome. Highly recommend you try the flights. Staff was great!!

On top of the fantastic environment and craft beer selection (already worth the trip for it) is the food menu! Outstanding flavours made on an open kitchen. I could just point at only one dish between the options. All of them have something unique and you can be sure it won’t disappoint. I personally would highlight the Brisket Chilli Cheese Fries. It’s great for sharing too, we ate it between 2 and it was great size! The atmosphere of the place just adds to it. One of my favourite bars in Tallinn!

I am so glad I was introduced to this awesome place. A bit away from Tallin’s beautiful city centre, but still accessible by public transportation or a 30 minute walk, you can find Põhjala brewery. A beautiful industrial building, but the magic is inside. That brew excellent beer you can try, and also they have a great restaurant with delicious food. The staff is very welcoming. I recommend you reserve a table in advance. You can also enjoy their terrace.

A very good brewery! You can try different tap beers and choose your taste accordingly. I had number 8 which was really satisfying. They also organise brewery tours but you need to book in advance.

We visited a couple breweries in Tallinn and this was our favorite. They have a huge selection of their beers on tap, choosing 5 of them for the beer flight was not easy. The interior is great, lots of light and plants. They have a shop downstairs. Breakfast sandwich was amazing, they also have great sauces. The food was served very quickly. You order at the bar, wait for the drinks and they bring you food to the table. On Sundays, they do all day breakfast and do not serve their regular food.

I do recommend a visit here if you would like to have something else then a standard beer. This is the place to go to if you want to enjoy a beer out of the ordinary. I had stouts and porters tonight, but be care, they are strong, over 10% alcohol 😊

Decent place, to avoid queue they should take orders on seat. In food they should add more Asian experiences.

The music selection goes with the ambiance. The burger and homemade fries were incredible and an amazing portion size. You have a selection of 6 sauces on the table to choose from. Tip: don’t try the rose cider if you don’t like extremely sour beverages but if you do enjoy ciders, I recommend the raspberry beer

The best beers in the city can be found here, such a vast selection of lagers, IPAs and so on. Their snacks and meals are also very well thought and fit the vibe of the drinks. My favourite place in Tallinn and definitely worth visiting.

A famouse Estonian private brewery which created an awesome taproom in the Noblessner district. There are more than 20 beers on tap, all of them high quality, brewed locally from local ingredients. The atmosphere is also unique especially if you know that they have the rebuilt a ruin. If you like beer, this place is a must for you.

Great gastropub located inside the brewery. Had a tasting meny that the bartender recommended based on my preferences and had a really tasty sausage next to it. It was really busy that day and I understand why, since it was a great tasting experience. They do specialize in BBQ foods so want to come back to try more of that + enjoy more of the 2 million types of beer they have on tap :-)

Põhjala Brewery & Tap Room on tunnelmallinen ja hieno ravintola. Panimossa valmistetaan yhdet Viron parhaista oluista. Etikka hallitsi mietoa makumaailmaa. Lohi osui nappiin. Kimchi Burrata oli outo kokemus. Tulisen annoksen rapeaksi paistettu merilevä meinasi pilata koko makumaailman, mutta savustettu porsaankylki oli parasta mitä pöytään tuotiin. Kaikki tilaukset tehdään tiskiltä. Eli juomia kannattaa heti tilata niin paljon ettei niitä joudu jonottamaan kesken ruokailun.

Great place full of life, great food (and even better beers - huge selection of outstanding quality craft beer). Amazing and helpfull staff. You should definitely try sauna inside the taproom (make sure to book in advance).

Most people know Põhjala for their porters and stouts, but don't pass up their IPAs or lagers. They make great beer!! Their brisket is absolutely delicious. They also offer vegan options. Great selection of to go beers in the bottle shop on the main floor.

I am not into beer but food is super good! They have esquires and tlacoyos! As a professional Mexican, I totally appreciate a good tlacoyo!

Põhjala is up there with the best European craft breweries. I first discovered them in an off-licence in Sofia and decided that when I'm back in Tallinn I'd pay them a visit. Four years later I actually ended up again in Tallinn, and I'm glad I visited. 24 beers on tap, ranging from IPAs to porters. It's all been excellent.

Of all the beer I have ever tasted, nothing compares to the artistry in Estonia. Great people and great service. May you all prosper. We are honored to have your products in Richmond, and we look forward to having you across the world. Exquisite.

I had a lovely evening here with some friends, where I got to try some alcohol free beers and have dinner also. I love the building, and the repurposing of the structure has been done very well. The zero beers I had were very good too, from the raspberry sour to the IPA...I enjoyed them all! For food, I chose the double cheeseburger for €15 and added bacon to it for €2 extra. Which was well worth it as this burger was on point! The thin patties were very flavoursome (a mix of striploin, brisket and house bacon), the bacon was lovely and crispy, the cheese was gooey and tasty and along with the pickles, pickled onion and onion mayo made it one of the best burgers I've had in a while! All of the flavours hit my tastebuds in the right way...what a burger! ;D So, if you enjoy your craft beers with a brewery you can visit and you enjoy a decent dirty burger among other dishes, then is the place for you! The service was friendly and relaxed. 5 stars all day long.

Great place for a beer. Beautiful setting and loads of seating inside and out. As you would expect from the Pohjala brewery, their selection of beers was fantastic and very reasonably priced for a flight of beers. I would highly recommend a visit if you're ever in Tallinn. Little robot trucks can even deliver their stunning beers directly to your door. Amazing 👏 😉🍺

That’s really cool! As a long fan of Põhjala it was a pleasure to finally get into this place. Initially was confused on which beer should I taste, because I cannot physically taste each of them, but as revealed they have really nice taster set from the 5 beers you choose. I’m not missed with the their Cellar (Barrel Aged) series, because it’s always a win. But was also happy to try they more low-abv varieties like Berliner or Sour. Also the Brisket here is super-delicious, don’t thing I’ve tried something close to it

Amazing beer! Can opt for a flight of 5 beers if you want to try several of them. Very decent price. The food was quite good too. Ambiance was very relaxed. Service was great too.

Really nice lunch up on the "shelf" outside the tap-room. A haven för beer-lovers who not only can get a "test-tray" of six glasses of beer - but can actually look into the brewery.

Nice atmosphere. Very good selection of Põhjala beers on tap, and they offers flights. Unfortunately I ate before coming here so I cant rate the food, but it did smell and look amazing. We were a bit lucky to get a table, so I'd recommend booking a table beforehand in busy periods.

  • 4/5 Mark V. 1 year ago on Google
We had a great experience here! No idea why they wouldnt let people order from the table. Food was great. So many options for beer that you will be drunk before ever getting through all of them. Boom - there is your reason to come back tomorrow :)

Great place for beers and some bbq food. Trendy neighborhood and really cool atmosphere. Obviously large selection of draft craft beers on tap. If you can’t decide what beer to choose go with the sampler platter where you get to pick five, each 100 ml. You can admire the brewery through windows and if your lucky you get to see the masters at work. The architecture alone is cool, but how they have restored the site even better. Definitely worth visiting and make the trip.

One of the best places for food and craft beer in my honest opinion. Amazing chefs make the most amazing BBQ and mac'n'cheese.. All the meat is always juicy and delicious. And the selection of beer, just amazing and tastes great. All in all a great place to go for dinner, organizing events or even brunch.
