4/5 Thomas .. 2 years ago on Google
I’ve
stayed
here
over
ten
times
in
the
past
12
months
for
business
and
private
occasions.
I’ve
seen
the
hotel
improve
in
certain
areas
and
deteriorate
in
other
areas.
Since
the
hotel
is
still
partially
under
construction
until
spring
2022,
be
prepared
to
look
at
a
building
site
and
be
woken
up
at
7
AM
every
working
day
by
construction
noise.
The
rooms
are
generally
a
10/10
in
terms
of
value
for
money;
the
same
goes
for
the
hotel's
location.
When
it
comes
to
the
room,
there
are
usually
three
potential
issues
that
are
a
hit
or
miss
when
booking
the
(small)
double
room.
Some
bathrooms
are
super
petite
with
an
open
shower;
others
are
much
bigger
and
have
a
closed
shower
with
a
door.
In
the
case
of
the
smaller
bathroom,
the
water
will
go
everywhere.
Climate
control
is
also
something
to
keep
in
mind.
In
the
winter,
the
temperature
is
not
adjustable,
even
if
the
thermostat
lets
you
do
it.
This
is
something
in
nearly
all
buildings
in
Estonia
that
use
this
climate
system.
In
the
summer,
it's
a
different
story;
it
works
great.
Cleanliness
is
sometimes
an
issue;
I
understand
they’ve
had
some
staffing
issues,
which
was
seen
in
some
of
the
rooms
I’ve
had.
The
bed
is
very
comfortable,
and
the
internet
is
high
speed.
What
I’ve
seen
over
the
past
year
is
that
Citybox
has
significantly
focused
on
long-term
stay
agreements,
which
is
excellent
for
them
but
not
for
short-term
guests;
this
has
lowered
the
standard
in
general.
Specifically
in
the
shared
kitchen
area
on
the
third
floor.
The
shared
fridge
is
just
a
biohazard
and
smells
awful,
and
the
general
hygiene
is
not
there.
An
example
of
this
is
when
I
saw
a
guy
prepare
raw
chicken
-
and
without
washing
his
hands
-
touch
the
microwave
in
multiple
places
and
cook
his
chicken
that
way.
Any
shared
kitchen
items
were
also
not
cleaned;
I
was
absolutely
amazed.
I’m
not
a
germaphobe,
but
this
is
just
nasty.
These
long-term
“tenants”
are
primarily
students
and
refugees.
Hence
I’d
stay
away
from
this
area
or
thoroughly
clean
anything
before
use;
the
hotel
doesn’t
clean
it
regularly.
When
it
comes
to
the
staff,
they’re
overall
lovely
and
give
you
a
very
local
treatment.
This
means
being
very
direct
in
their
answers
and
only
providing
limited
support.
Be
prepared
to
hear
a
no
without
any
explanation
on
some
requests.
When
it
comes
to
being
a
“Hotel,”
I’d
refrain
from
classifying
them
as
a
hotel
mentally;
it's
more
like
an
Airbnb
with
some
shared
facilities.
There
is
no
room
cleaning
during
your
stay,
and
there
is
also
no
room
service
or
coffee/tea
facilities
in
the
room.
This
certainly
has
its
upsides
for
the
environment
and
price
model.
Recently
the
parking
garage
below
the
hotel
has
opened,
and
it’s
great.
For
€3,50
per
24h,
you’re
able
to
park
your
car
in
a
secure
and
heated
garage
below
the
hotel
(Barking
app
needed).
What
I’d
like
to
see
happen
is
more
clear
communication
to
guests,
appreciation
for
being
a
recurring
guest,
and
cleanliness
in
shared
areas
of
the
hotel.
All
issues
mentioned
in
this
review
have
been
passed
on
to
the
staff/manager
before
posting
this
review,
and
ample
time
has
been
given
for
service
recovery.
I’ll
update
this
review
up
or
down
based
on
my
future
stays.
UPDATE:
Thanks
Teele
for
your
quick
reply!
We
might
not
have
spoken
personally,
but
I’ve
had
interactions
on
several
occasions
with
your
duty
manager/staff.
The
findings
found
during
my
stays
in
the
previous
12
months
are
factual
and
not
based
on
a
one-time
occurrence.
Some
of
these
findings
are
confirmed
by
other
reviews/guests.
I
have
nothing
against
your
concept.
Instead,
I
am
pointing
out
improvement
areas
+
informing
other
guests
of
some
items
that
work
differently
at
Citybox
hotel
compared
to
standard
hotels.
