Nice enough. Quiet during our stay, limited English speaking staff so if you dont speak Spanish its a tad more difficult. Rooms are fine, cold showers are the norm however its so hot you dont mind. Breakfast is egg and bread with hot drinks.

Find another hostel. This place might spoil your mood. The service was really bad. The room was not cleaned daily and the toilet was dirty. There was often no toilet paper and I asked twice to get some. The situation remained the same afterwards. The reception often had nobody there. The price for the tour mentioned by one reception guy was 50 dollars more than the price offered by the agency. The breakfast was included but very very basic, just bread coffee tea and one egg. There is a 5% commission if you pay by card, and on booking the price is higher. I booked the female room, which was one dollar more than the mixed room on booking, but it turned out that if you pay at the reception, the female room has the same price as the mixed room🤔. No hostel vibe at all. I was especially shocked when they wanted to charge me 5 soles for the luggage to be stored for just several hours (I was the guest and was leaving on the same night)! This has never happened at other hostels. And there was no water when I woke up this morning. 24 hours without water. Nobody informed me yesterday and I couldn't take a shower, used my drinking water to brush my teeth🫥.

We had to leave at 7.30 and breakfast starts at 7. The woman who had to prepare was just on the Phone the whole time. When we asked, she was extremely unfriendly. We did not have breakfast in the end. She was just very rude.

We made a reservation in person a week before our arrival. When we showed up, they did not have any rooms available. There was a big festival in the city so they likely gave our room away. If you do choose to stay here, make a reservation on one of the travel sites so that the hostel is forced to keep your reservation.

They made the false promise to be a small group and it ended up being a party jungle up to 3am for a large group of British while the rest of the us were trying to sleep (which was impossible). I was harrassased and threatened by one of the drunk guys who wasn't able to teach his old kid how to behave around people, while none of the teamwork were able to manage the situation in a professional way. They simply disappeared, avoided me or make fun of me. When we returned to the hostel I spoke with the manager who in return offered me a free night over at the hostel but I had my journey organized and it wasn't helpful at all. I had to let go of the bad experience and accept I wasted my money and time. I don't usually write negative reviews and only write about my good experiences but in this case I can see by other reviewers that they haven't used the feedback to improve their services and most likely they know they are scamming travelers. This happened about 3 years ago.

Too much bureaucracy, they copy your passport and everything! No privacy at all!

Terrible service do not stay here. They double booked our two rooms leaving 5 of us us stranded in a new city without accomodation at 8pm on a Sunday. The receptionist took zero responsibility and did not help with a solution. Do not book here!

Make sure you have on writing what they promise with getting the money back if it is not the case. You will thank me later

Also BEWARE OF ROBIN!!! and his "tours". He is a worker at the hostel who promised us an authentic experience living with a family in the jungle. He told us sweet lies, he told us we would go on night hikes, look at sunsets, have delicious food. We paid 400 soles for this tour and it was total nonsense. Not only did we not do any of that but we were mainly served rice and the one tiny piece of chicken that I was served gave me severe food poisoning that I am still getting over even as I write this. That guy is nothing more than a theif and a con man. He told us we would hang out with the family but we just sat around doing nothing all day. Biggest waste of 100 dollars I have ever spent.

Perfect for our stay in Puerto Maldonado. Very open spaces that don't hold the heat so much, which is nice. The manager very kindly let us check in early and was extremely accommodating. The owner helped us with a very complicated situation, he was kind and understanding. Definitely would recomend.
