A tastefully renovated castle and a great wine-experience awaits you! The largest single-owner vineyards in Europe don’t cut corners for their guests who stay at the castle, giving you wine tasting experiences, as well as a tour of the surrounding farm and possibility to eat at the on-site restaurant.

The castle is impressive and all the estate looks esquisite. You can visit the museum in a guided tour for 25 RON. The tours start every hour. You can book rooms to stay overnight on the estate. There is a restaurant on site for guests and it offers coffee/bar services for visitors. You can buy local wine Jidvei from the gift shop.

Beautiful location, unfortunately I did not manage to go inside since they require a green certificate to visit the property. My friends did go in and stated it is a vrei well kept castel. They have the possibility to attend a wine tasting as well since it is a Jidvei property. Overall from the outside the castel is beautiful will most likely return for the full experience when covid goes away.

Attended the castle with friends and we had the full tour, wine tasting and meal. The castle itself can be considered a private castle owned by the boss of Jidvei wineries. His vision of restoration and preservation is interesting despite much significant history with regards to actual internal items and such. Whilst the latter can be considered work in progress, the trajectory will likely result in something special for future generations. In addition, the castle does have rooms to let. These rooms are decked out exclusively and this is reflected on pricing. The wine tasting session was tops. The 6 wines were accompanied by an eloquent description from their chief winemaker, Mr Buia, a passionate, wise and established local. The wines tasted as a whole were of average to high standard and we were pleased that there were no duds. Accompaniments of a generous cheese platter and bread was most welcome. What was more impressive is the use of local and housemade products. Our subsequent 3 course meal was a letdown in terms of flavours. Nonetheless, all 4 of us left reasonably happy with our experience; kind staff and Mr Buia made it special.

An amazing place that you must visit. If you plan to eat there, or to visit the Jidvei Wineries you should call and make reservations in order to be sure it's available to visit. Also if you want to sleep there be sure to make reservation in time, you will get a nice experience. Food is prepared with products grown on their own farm, Jidvei wines are also to be tasted. Guided tours are made every hour, where you'll receive precious informations regarding the castle and it's history. Be sure you put this castle on your visit list.

Important: Each guided tour starts every hour and lasts 30-40mins. Make sure you arrive at about :45-:00, before the hourly guide starts, in order to buy tickets and enter. Unique castle now with the role of wine tasting and sampling, but also opened to visitors, 25 RON per person. The castle and surroundings are owned by Jidvei winery and you can buy wine here. You can also book a room to stay and eat. The restaurant is open only for beverages to visitors. If you book ahead you can also eat. For an authentic experience and decent budget, I recommend that you book a room here, eat, sample wine and enjoy the stay. Parking is free. A lot of spaces.

We were driving over 50 km just to visit the castle but we were not allowed to. In the website is written that there are guided tours at 17:00 p.m. and we were there at 16:40 p.m. The lady told us that she doesn't speak English very well and we cannot see the castle. We asked if it was possible to enter in the castle with her without explanations (which means to pay for a guided tour without actually receiving it) or with guided tour in Romanian. However there were no other people for a Romanian guided tour, so the lady just refused to let us visit the castle. We were very disappointed. Better to call them in advance before going there.

Amazing place on Loire valley..sorry Tarnava Mica valley. The castle looks like it was moved from Loire valley though. It is privately owned by Jidvei and it was refurbished with great taste. You can book tours and wine tasting and even sleep (for large groups). The area is also great. It is a 15 min drive from Jidvei winery and 30-45 min from Alba Iulia or Medias.
