My partner, who shall remain anonymous, because there's no where else to go for his ongoing treatment in den Haag, has had doctor's who don't follow through on new treatments, incorrect prescriptions and a refusal to renew his medicine until his results come back....All through NO fault of his own! Leaving him with No MEDICATION! And all through their negligence and total incompetence. Pathetic! Every American's worst nightmare about social medicine all under one roof. I've seen better and more competent care in the third and developing world. Simply the WORST!

Outright terrible. I have severe vision problems developed over the period of only 4 months. Apparently I have a gray star and also some yet undefined muscle problem. They measured my eyes also at the hospital several times but i was wearing actuallt lower strengths contacts then already measured. Nevertheless, i was at westeinde just told I am wearing contacts that are too strong (while actually i already wear less than what many people including others at hmc have measured). No diagnosis. No treatment. The world is blurry and I can hardly use the computer anymore. Stay away from this place. Update: After I was then transferred to the Rotterdam Eye Clinic, they ran checks on only one day (vs the many months string of short appointments at HMC) and proceeded to the star surgery. I can see great now, and I am very glad to have left HMC.

When I had a tiny bump removed at HMC Bronovo at the Gynaecology department they charged me an arm and a leg (1,600 euros!). My co-pay was 800 euros. Having a tiny bump removed warranted something like surgery conditions- way overblown! The costs are exorbitant and abusive. They also took over a year to bill me. Why?? Be prepared to subsidize care for others in a big way (beyond already high monthly insurance) with the smallest procedure you need taken care of.

Worst experience at the lab where I waited for 1.5 h to be rejected because I didnt have my ID on me. This could have been checked at the desk when I showed my papers instead of having me waiting with fever for all that time. When I explained the situation to the lady amd tried to suggest workarounds I got no understanding or empathy whatsoever.

Absolutely worst hospital I've ever been to. Was pretty much forced into a c section without proper explanation of the risks to myself and baby, and future pregnancies . During the c section no one payed me any attention and I kept passing out. My baby was also brought to another room for 20 minutes without anyone giving me any updates or letting me know she was okay. So for 20 minutes i laid there alone listening to my baby cry. In recovery the nurses weren't any better, and one nurse even dared say "we didn't roll you into the OR against your will" now I've been left with a horrible trauma, been robbed of a good birth, and even 7 months on i still suffer from my c section daily.

Doctors are pathetic, even India has better doctors then them. I am seriously disappointed going to this place. Regret the moment I searched on google for it's direction.

Gynaecology/Delivery department is the wost I have ever seen. OMG! They don't want to help. It's like they want to torture people. If you have terible pain as a woman, just don't come to HMC Westeinde. You better drive a little bit more to a decent hospital instead of the HMC Westeinde. You will not regret.

Good doctors and nurses but management needs to do better ... Elderly and highly pregnant women are made the queue outside in the sun because of poor communication of covid measures, security staff rude and unhelpful. Toilets are dirty and no one gets told off for not sticking to guidelines (e.g. keeping distance). Don't be surprised if you come in for a blood test the day before a major operation, are made to queue for ninety minutes and they call you a few hours later to tell you they LOST your blood and need to test you again... Room for improvement!

I had an operation recently in this hospital. Doctors and staff are so kind and helpful. They are very professional and have expertise. They explain your condition and give you best option to proceed. Despite my lack of Dutch, everybody was very fluent in English during my procedure. Much appreciated for your health service. Thank you!! I strongly recommend this hospital.

Yesterday around noon I came because of severe pain in stomach which was unbearable. I got immediate appointment at the emergency GP(Huisarts) & there was suspicion that it could be appendicitis. The next round of tests were done quickly and after almost an hour the confirmation came that it was indeed appendicitis and the operation had to be performed the same day. We were briefed by the surgeon and by 7pm I was in operation theater. The after care was great too. I will be discharged today!! I would like to personally thank each and every staff member, the doctors and surgeons in making things so smooth in this emergency situation!! A BIG thank you!!!

Doctor Verhagen (surgeon) is the top specialist. The anesthesist team is excellent as well. An Emergency reception team needs some improvement though

My wife delivered our baby girl here. Doctors and nurses were great. They helped and explained us every single step. We never felt alone or disoriented. They took care of us in every possible way. Always kind and available. This is the best hospital I have experience with, so far.

It will go away on its own, or it will kill you, which is why it is better for the HMC if you just wait a while or remain on the waiting list forever. - A rhyme to hang in the arrivals hall

I would like to thank all staffs in Mother and Child Center that provided me the superb service for my baby’s delivery and neonatal care. I am satisfied with the facilities to support the recovery between baby and mom in medical needs. The nurses were also attentive not only for me and my baby, but also my partner. In addition, as an expat, I appreciate that most of staffs are willing to speak to english and really open if you have any questions. If you do not understand a certain decision they took for you, as long as we kindly ask for the reasoning, so far they provided sufficient explanation (based on my experience at mother & child center)

The Mother & Child center is great! I delivered my baby in HMC Westeinde and I can say that the quality of the care was above expectations and the facilities were very nice. Thank you to the full team for everything they did for us and the baby!

The entrance, the central hall is well maintained and looks neat. The service and helpfulness in finding your way is very friendly. The outpatient departments and especially the nursing departments are quite outdated.

I broke my leg falling from stairs. I called my neighbour to call emergency they came 5 10 min late then i expect (few questions were asked in dutch to my neighboor) , gave me painkillers on my way did not feel pain. In hospital they directly took xray and openly shared with me. I had 3 broken bones which is serious situation. They took me to emergency surgery. After it is done again i was able to see what is done (during all this i was able to speak english) they gave all meals, painkillers it has been 72 hours. Only i decreased two points (3 out of 5) because they were hurrying to let me out of hospital (it is covid time so it could also be exceptional) it is scary that with all those metals at my leg i have to go to my home again.they also have not inform me clearly what options i have and secondly, there is huge amount of misinformation and if something is unknown they will just lie instead of saying they dont know (be prepared for giving blood for some measurment but there is mistake so you have to give again ) there is no standart. procedure will change depending on person . But overall my experience is acceptable at least they have applied fixator correctly . Thanks everyone making this possible.

The hospital tried very hard to help me as an international visitor. They have taken good control of my healthcare and even supported me with GP and other service options I struggled with, either through in house or by recommendation. As an international visitor it would be great if the service had more options in-house for GP and non-emergency services but their support exceeded expectations.

The doctors and nurses at the delivery ward of Westeinde made the birth of our daughter a wonderful experience. I am so thankful for their professionalism and friendly care that was given to the baby and our family. I felt fully supported the whole time and also my wishes regarding pain relief were listened to. It was the best hospital to be also right after the birth.

I was so worried because no GP nearby accept me so I decided to visit the emergency department. I went there at 10am and finished all the treatments at 2pm. I think the waiting time is reasonable. Firstly there is nurse to do checking, and doctor will consult you. They are very patient and communicate with good English. I recommend expats with urgent needs can go if you have insurance covered. Keep in mind you have to pay the ‘expensive’ medication fee yourself. (Vegetable soup from the hospital canteen is lekker.)

I was seen at the dermatology clinic by Dr. J. Vink. I was 5 minutes late at a previous appointment, so the appointment was moved. At the follow-up appointment I immediately noticed that this doctor already had a prescription ready, even though she never saw me! This prescription was a repeat prescription that I had received several times from my GP. The dermatologist did not listen to my request for help and subtly sent me out the door. Besides the fact that I received a fine for a so-called “no-show”, my acne has also worsened thanks to her! My advice to others: don't go to this dermatologist. Once you're inside, she literally gets you out in no time.

Horrible phone service, sitting here in awful pain and to be getting yelled at by the receptionist is crazy, had a migraine from a tooth ache and called because everything else is closed and the receptionist ends up yelling at me because she can’t do anything for me. Then she forwards me to a dentist available.

Very helpful and professional medical and non-medical staff in the mother and child department. Once we figured out how to deal with non-Dutch insurances all went smoothly.

Very kind nurses and the doctor was super kind to you can charge your phone when you’re waiting we waited only 20 minutes so the waiting time was extremely short

I was brought here by ambulance recently. I received the absolute best care. The nurses, doctors and staff were kind, professional and ethical. If I ever need urgent care again, I will choose this hospital always. Thank you so much guys! You're the best in my book! 🙂

they told me to come at 10:45 am for my surgery. they said i will have my surgery at the same day. i came to the hospital and waited there for 10 hours only for the said surgery not happening in the same day. during those 10 hours, my parent repeatedly asked when can i have my surgery and the staff only told us to wait. if i could, i would give the rating a zero. absolute nightmare, if i were to sum it in two words.

AWFUL horrible place that SCAMS people. Paid €190 for tests that said nothing was wrong when I had a HERNIA! These idiots are useless. Scammed me by making me pay €25 for 15 pills! YOU ARE ALL GOING TO HELL
