We came here for a celebratory weekend which was planned months ago. Family arrived from Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth, USA and Dubai. It must be noted that my aunts unit was paid months ago and had proof of her booking. Upon arrival, her unit was given away for another family. The plan was for our entire family to be together for a weekend. We booked three units. Upon being made aware of the double booking, the staff was not at all being helpful. The staff made the suggestion that my aunts family of 4 is to share a unit with another family of 4 - a UNIT FOR FOUR PEOPLE TO BE SHARED BY EIGHT PEOPLE???? How is that fair at all? The staff further noted that they will come up with a solution at 5pm. Take note, everyone arrived at 2pm. It is 18:30pm and still, no solutions! A manager proceeded to come to the villa of my family (Daddy's Villa) with the suggestion that my aunts family is to move opposite the road to South Hill. How can our entire family weekend be ruined by having our family move to a different BnB opposite the road AND they had booked MONTHS AGO WITH PROOF OF BOOKING AND PAYMENT, AND A CONFIRMATION IN THE WEEK! The treatment has been appalling!!! THIS WAS BOOKED MONTHS AGO! My aunts family flew in from JHB! The experience with the staff has been horrific. Anyway, that is all from me. A rating of 0, thank you.

I had a wonderful time. A really beautiful location, peaceful and lots to do. The draw card are the boutique trailer rooms. I thought these were lovely, but in need of some minor TLC. Some of the finishes are looking a little drab and need attention - paint is chipped, plastic flowers fraying etc. However, still a good experience, but for the pricing, expectations are high. Service was generally good - I was assisted quickly and kindly at reception. However, the first night dinner service was slow and lack lustre and some menu items were not available. The lack of availability was only communicated after ordering and well into the long wait for our meal. The second night was much better and the breakfast service was good. I think there is room to make certain experiences "all inclusive". For example, the payment fee for using the canoeing on the lake is poorly communicated and managed - and in my opinion totally unnecessary, again as you are paying a rather high accomodation fee, why charge for that? All in all - I would highly recommend and the criticism comes from a place of trying to encourage reasonable improvements to what could be a 5 star experience.

Rene Roux and her team of professional staff made us feel welcome from arrival to departure. Nothing was too much to ask, they took care of our every need and all with a smile. Wonderful venue and surrounds, delicious food and comfort all round amongst planning for 2024. Well done Rene to each one in your team... I have heard only compliments from everyone in our team. So we booked this place purely for the woodfired hot tub. The unit (bees) itself had no working aircon but a very noisy fan. We were told that they did not know where the key to our unit was but assured us that they’d find it. My husband immediately started to fire up the tub, he got the fire going however the water never heated up.3 different ground staff came to check but were unsuccessful. My husband then discovered the coil was blocked and it wouldn’t work. This is after him trying to get it to work for 2 &half hours. We couldn’t even take a nap because we couldn’t lock our unit. The ground staff came because they still could not find the keys so they were going to change the locks (no privacy) They decided to move us to another unit, the other unit was dusty. No towels or hand towel in the room we were shown to use, again we were not given a key. The ground staff started the hot tub just after 5:00 pm we were told that it would be heated in the next two hours. The hot tub never got warm. We tried until about 10pm then decided to just leave it. Very disappointing. The resort is beautiful and ground staff are great.

Cannot fault anything at Old Mac Daddy. Can't think of a single bad thing. I have been wanting to visit here for a very long time. The winter special made it possible, with the price been affordable. The food was delicious. The pizza and chili Burger was oh so yummy. Service was excellent. Very friendly staff. We stayed in The Dream which just above the children play area, Happy hour was a brilliant idea. All cocktails and beers half price. The beach area was a great place to catch a snooze in.the winter sun. Fire places were lit all over. Lots of activities for the kids. No TV's in the Trailer, but you can catch up in the lounge area. Can't wait to visit in Summer. The Zen Den had a half price special on a few treatments. Of course I took advantage of this, The spa area was tranquil and the therapist was excellent at her job. Old Mac Daddy Ticks All the Boxes.

This place was Awesome. The service was great , the food even the Team-building activities they arranged was amazing. Highly recommend 👌

Access road was in a bad state due to the recent heavy rains. Made booking for table for 8 but we were mistaken for another group so table was not ready. Did not view the interior of the accommodation but the whole venue is located in a fire prone area surrounded by dense vegetation. Some attention is needed to safe-guard buildings and visitors. Food was average.

A dinner evening, didn't stay over. Wendy at the restaurant was amazing - fitting us in on a busy night. We'll definitely be back thanks to Wendy.
