I had a treatment at the Ginko Spa on a Sunday and what a lovely spoil it was. Set out in the building at the bottom of the property looking back at the hotel, the spa is in a lovely location. The excellent care I received from the staff was magic. I'll certainly be going back there again for more tlc.

October 2023, Family getaway - Our experience at this Hotel was really nice, the weather was a bit wet so we could not enjoy the swimming pools, but the views alone was so breathtaking! Our boys was with and they really enjoyed it, the game room kept them entertained. So it's really kid-friendly as well, the rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. I would like to commend Chef Viwe for her outstanding service and food. Everyone in the hotel had a hand in making our stay pleasurable and satisfying. We stayed there for 2 weekends after each other and loved it. would definitely come and visit again.

Stayed here with a friend for a restful weekend away from Cape Town. The rooms are plain but big and spacious, everything you need in your room is there. The breakfast buffet was more on the cold side but tasted really great. The atmosphere is really tranquil and peaceful. Everything is worth the money pay. Thank you.

I heard such positive things about this hotel from family. This caused me to book for the christmas buffy. I may still go in future. However, I had a medical incident, provided the hotel with a medical certificat, and had to cancel my booking. Their refunding sucks. Their SOP for refunding looks like a third rated cheap hotel. Them charging R300 admin fee for a R1900 deposit is outrageous.

I recently celebrated my 50th birthday at this venue, and it was an unforgettable experience! Initially, there were some communication issues, but everything turned out to be absolutely amazing. A special shoutout to Howard, the Food and Beverage Manager, who added those extra special touches that made the night even more memorable. We danced the night away, creating memories I'll cherish forever.The breakfast buffet was exceptional – a must-try for everyone! Besides this, the other amenities offered by the venue were top-notch. Highly recommended for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion.

The room was basic but had all necessities needed. The food for was good .. no complaints.. I would recommend that a holiday program for kids be looked into. Like face painting, games or activities for kids that are interactive. I would also ask for a room that has an air con, as some rooms have fans.

What a find!! I was desperately looking for a sleepover for my family of four along the N2 having left Cape Town late. Houw Hoek gave us a family room inclusive of breakfast at an incredible rate and we were amazed at the value for money. Lovely unit without unnecessary luxury, yet all that you need in spacious, well equipped units. Great furniture and linen, clean and well kept. Even underfloor heating!! We loved the rich history of the Hotel - a real gem for our great nation! The dinner at the restaurant was again extremely good value for money, and truly delicious with friendly staff all-round. There is so much to still explore and enjoy so we will most certainly be back!!

We went to the restaurant to celebrate an anniversary. Beautiful view from the restaurant. Good and friendly staff. Delicious food at a good price. Will definately visit again.

Excellent hotel, venue and service. It's a classic for a reason. It feels so homely and open. I was very during rain and couldn't hike, but would've loved to take an early morning hike and then join the morning breakfast buffet. Highly recommended! PS: The lasagna was out of this world. It just hit the spot with a flavour explosion.

This lovely hotel was not the greatest with service and attention to detail. Staff was not that helpful when asked questions based on changing of rooms as this was a work booking via travel agent. We had to wait until the next day for things to be resolved. We stayed for two days. The rooms are extremely cold bit has fire place. However, the wood was not that great to fire up,and the reception line was out. We notified the reception lady but to no avail. The views are spectacular at the breakfast/dinner facility. The food is very good and scrumptious. It's best to put it in your order before coming to dine. The food and beverage manager was a bit moody at the time. But overall, the staff is very nice and Assist where they can.

The Houw Hoek Hotel is such a beautiful Hotel with friendly staff, beautiful & clean rooms. The most amazing breakfast and dinner. The mountain views are breathtaking. Thank you for making our trip a real home away from home experience and thank you for our Honeymoon suite. We loved it.

Best place for any occasion, the view is breathtaking and its kids friendly it's perfect for the whole family. I loved every moment of my stay there. Would love to go again in the summer.

Had a family Sunday Father's Day lunch there. The buffet was good, and so was the service. Didn't like the waiters shouting at each other over the tables/guests though. Apart from that, a very pleasant experience.

Service here is not so great at all, you can ask for serviettes before you even eat and get them after you've struggled, no water replacement in the rooms. It's a lot but my room wasn't so bad, it just wasn't thoroughly cleaned.

Rooms are spacious and beautiful. Service is great during lunch and dinner but tea time not at all, water and coffee was not hot, had to always ask or remind. Location is beautiful but just too fat for me. Otherwise I enjoyed my stay.

Staff were all super friendly and helpful. Rooms and premises are nice, comfortable and clean with a fireplace in each room. Exteriors could do with some paint, though. Beautiful setting with a brand new spa on site. Highly recommended. The perfect getaway or stopover.
