I walked in with a kid who was really unwell as the mother i am very pregnant something everyone could see....at the triage there was no nurse, i walked to the nurse station to request them to come and queue my kid for the doctor's review, she just took the kgs and walked. The long ugly wait started... After i realised people who came behind me were being seen as i sat there tired and feeling unwell(i am 30weeks pregnant and unwell, still on medication because i was treated in Mater on Saturday) i begged the nurse to have my kid seen coz people were going before me she talked back at me. I literally asked her in tears if not for anything to atleast prioritise me because of the pregnancy but she walked off. I walked to the lady doctor and requested her to see me before i give birth on the queue she as well talked back at me telling me she cant(This begs the questions....what kind of heartless dark hearted nurses and doctors are you hiring in Mater lately? When all has failed, don't you give priority to pregnant tired women???? I have been a Mater client for waaaay too long, i think you are taking me for granted. I am extremely hurt and traumatised from the treatment i received today. If not for the help of your supervisor Virginia Kyallo n dr Acholla(who were extremely helpful) I could have walked away unattended. Some nurses and doctors there were clearly not called to serve, those ones look like they can even kill someone. BRING BACK THE GOOD OLD MATER!!!

It’s a very disappointing hospital. Your services are very poor. Taking advantage of patients. If there was a zero rating I would definitely do it. You guys need to do better than this. There’s no reputation of Christ at all. We had issues with billing. We were misadvised with delivery packages. The reception attendants told us due to covid no bookings were necessary and all we needed to do was pay 50k and we’re good to go. We did exactly as advised for normal delivery. On discharge day we were slapped with additional bills amounting to 125k. As a medical practitioner myself they had duplicate consult fees that were erroneous that I Pointed out. Useless medical consults that I refused and was shocked even for new born gift and diapers were billed . Never have ever experienced paying for more than 20 pairs of sterile gloves amongst other useless fees. That means though it was normal delivery my wife had 20 episodes of sterile procedures if the midwife used 20 sterile gloves. No doctor was present during delivery though fees somehow appeared with discharge bill. I didn’t want anyone to steal the joy of our new babie and ended up paying whatever the bill was. I did raise issues with billing and sister in charge however no one wanted to advise me of an administrator. Their process with billing is archaic and if one has no medical knowledge be ready to pay fees that you may not be aware. If anyone cares to follow up with My concerns I left my contacts but folks be ware. Aga khan and others are very well worth it and better organized. I am beyond disgusted with lack of transparency and mid advise. Someone out there may not be in my position to foot that of money on discharge.,

It’s been tough since yesterday when I brought my elderly mum to Mater South B. It has been my hospital of choice for some time. But I always dread the experience at casualty. The casualty needs more customer friendly nurses. More sense of urgency, compassion, care... listening. The ward nurses are great. If only there was a way to bypass that Casualty!!

I wish the nurses smiled and were reassuring. I wish the nurses showed empathy to the patient and the patients families. I wish the doctors explained what they were doing as this is quite reassuring. I wish the nurses in A&E were faster as every second matters during emergencies. I wish the staff explained things properly instead of assuming we would know what to do, some patients are there for the first time. I wish their registration system was streamlined, i had to go back to the registration desk 3 times to confirm the patient was registered, this delayed treatment immensely and it was an emergency. It does not cost to smile....smile to clients please. The guy at the enquiry desk was very nice, he helped me very well, prompt and friendly.

I delivered my son there on 1/06/2018 and the experience was best, from courteous staff, pro active students, hygiene, togood obstetricians and pediatricians. The only part I would recommend you to review is meal served to mothers after delivery, it was quality but the quantity? Sausages and a slice of weetabix is starving to a woman who's just delivered.

I can not tell of the service delivery of this hospital; I visited while taking someone for a check up and lab tests. That said, I found the environment friendly, clean and with plenty of open spaces and greenery almost everywhere you see. COVID-19 protocols were strictly enforced. Waiting time was long. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Security soldiers need to be re-trained. I was there for a scheduled travel vaccination and waiting for them to open. One security guard beckoned me out of line and tried to tell me that he could facilitate vaccination quicker and tried to get me "into" the building. I smelled a rat "chai" immediately and declined. Root out these rotten apples b4 they spoil your "good" name?

My first and last time here. Slowest service I have ever experienced. Never coming back

When i had my CS there last year, was made to walk with stitches to the payments section, upon release 5 hours after doctor said i could go home. Mater hospital has some demons working there, not humans.

A very good hospital with capable doctors and fully equipped. Located in industrial area, it is fairly near the CBD. It is very spacious and offers a wide variety of medical services. I would say they are fairly professional. The only downside is that the waiting times are long and you would do well to carry something to read. This is, however, a common problem all over the world. The parking can get full during peak hours leading to inconveniences. Overall, it is a positive place to be if you find a way of keeping yourself busy while waiting.

The maternity wing is exceptional in service and kind. Had my baby girl delivered here and everything went very well. We were handled with care and professionalism. Keep up the good work.

The worst hospital ever. Very poor care non compassionate staff with ni patient or relatives understanding. Money focussed. I wouldn't advise anyone to trust the hospital the hospital with their loved ones lives. It is plain shocking. Others may have a good experience of the of the hospital, but I will be very surprised.

Negligence!They had my records about the medicine I was allergic to,but went ahead and prescribed the same I got allergic reactions ,went back and they apologized saying some other allergic patients don't react to this type,that's why they went ahead and gave me this and they dint know the medicine had that component , from the doctor to the pharmacist they need thorough training they are Interns.

Staff are hospitable and keen to listen before responding. Coming to the billing and insurance department, I had issues using American life (metlife) which is international after changing from Britam insurance. On my own personal opinion, your team should update insurance cards that we can use since we trust your facility.

The patient service has improved. The one big problem I find in this facility is the finance and accounts office. Very slow, very rude.

The offered poor customer services, I came there feeling unwell...the nurse asked me questions about my symptoms..there after i was told to wait outside ......I then had to wait for over an hour to get my medication...nurse didn't seem to care that I was in pain...she was just like "take this and u'll feel better".

The hospital is huge. Be ready to do a lot of walking. They offer comprehensive wellness check packages specifically tailored for both women and men at an affordable price for less than 15000 Kenya shillings. The gynaecologist office is usually very busy be ready to spend about one or so before being attended to. The dentistry section is great as services are offered fast. Pharmacy is very busy so prepare for some wait time before getting your prescription. Parking is in plenty and relatively safe.

The experience is just out of this Nairobi, the hospital is up to standard clean, experience doctors and all care givers. I got my three lovely children from their.Sheila Otieo,Brite Otieno and Crayer Benson.Thank you and keep the cool work a head.

Misdiogned twice in that hospital. Bacterial infection on tuesday then typhoid on friday thesame week. Syptoms got worse, went to another hospita saturday night. Tested posivitive for malaria got treatment and was discharged after 4days. If you are sick and want to suffer tge possibility of a slow painfull death, feel free to go to matter hospital. Doctors who seem inexperienced and nurses who care more about relaxing than serving patients. Hell on earth. Would not recommend it for domestic animals let alone human beings

Long queues. You can stay in the waiting area for about 2hours waiting to see a doctor. However triage is really fast and the staff is friendly. They need to work on their efficiency

Mater Hospital is located along Mukenia Road in Nairobi City. First East African hospital to get ISO certified. Great hospital hospitality. The guards are so friendly too

The facility is clean and security is tight. The nurses and workers in general are polite and friendly, the baby section wards are painted beautifully, there are also play areas for the kids, The beds are adjustable keeping the patient comfortable. The nurse in charge are ready to answer and attend to any questions raised. You also can't carry any food for the patients, food is served 😋

I love their services. Had my baby girl there 2017... I really loved how they handled me. Excellent service.

I've been coming to this hospital since 2015. All was well until recently, when i noted there's some type of discrimination at the consultancy department. Its so shameful that you can actually be given an appointment then on arrival you're told that the doctor is busy. So what's the point of the appointment? Why don't you alert a patient early enough that she/he won't be seen by the specialist? Its so frustrating and traumatizing.

Customer care is appalling. Nurses lack compassion and seem to be in the wrong place. Surely, Florence Nightingale must be disappointed.

Friendly nurses. But one can wait to receive service for like forever. I was attended to by a young doctor who kept chatting with his colleague from outside the curtains. That was quite rude.

You literally have to die so they can give you attention lol *not really *... needs improvement when it comes to doctors who are on call at night. Got worse this year though. Nurses forget you're there and doctors leave you unattended and disappear. Not to mention some really rude pharmacists (more specifically the ones who work at night)

Nursing care is pathetic. Slow to reactions especially when you need help. They should really do something about it. And if your not attentive to the billing you will be over charged for stupid things.

First time there i needed a lab test, my insurance card had an issue so i offered to pay cash for the test to be done coz it was lunch time and i was going back to work and was hoping to collect results and get treated in the evening. The receptionist at Mater westlands refused to let me pay cash or take the test. He told me i had to call insurance first. Turned out the card only needed a teo minute activation but that meant i couldnt have the results until the following day. Then today,i need to book tommorrow's appointment with the dermatologist so i call the hospital, i am told to hold through a chain of receivers, the last one says he is not the right person to help me, gives me a number to call. I call the number, i hold through a number of recievers and again the last one is the same guy who gave me that number and he is like 'the number i gave you diny help? I cant help you, you will have to try next week!' I am disappointed!

Dispensation of meds from pharmacy is painfully slow. Got the Docs prescription at 2.30pm and got the meds at 4.28pm. Terrible!

For maternity they have made some improvements ever since I was there at 2020 going back in 2022 I was surprised how the service and the nurses are polite.For post natal well baby clinic it’s trash the nurses are rude and they force you to take expensive vaccines.They tell you they don’t have the government vaccine so you can opt for the others with the cheapest being 5k.

Got an emergency accident and all they had to do was amputate my leg without my consent!
