Visiting the Bastogne War Museum was an incredibly moving and enlightening experience that left an indelible mark on my understanding of World War II. From the moment I stepped into the museum, I was immersed in a meticulously curated journey through history. The exhibits are a testament to the museum's dedication to accuracy and detail. The multimedia presentations and interactive displays provided a deep insight into the challenges faced during the Battle of the Bulge. The use of cutting-edge technology, combined with authentic artifacts, created a powerful and evocative narrative that transported me back to that pivotal moment in time. The layout of the museum is both engaging and thoughtfully designed, guiding visitors through the various stages of the battle. The personal stories of soldiers and civilians, shared through letters, photographs, and firsthand accounts, added a human dimension to the historical events, making them resonate on a profoundly emotional level. The Bastogne War Museum also pays tribute to the sacrifices made by those who fought and the civilians affected by the conflict. The memorial space is a solemn and respectful area, allowing visitors to reflect on the gravity of the historical events and the enduring impact on the lives of those involved. The museum staff demonstrated a genuine passion for their work, offering valuable insights and assistance throughout my visit. Their commitment to preserving and sharing this important history was evident in every aspect of the museum. In conclusion, the Bastogne War Museum is not just a museum; it's a living testament to the courage, resilience, and sacrifices of those who lived through the Battle of the Bulge. It is a must-visit for anyone seeking a profound and educational experience that transcends the pages of history books.

Perhaps one of the most beautiful museums ever visited. Actually it's not only a museum, it's the history lived and described by four different people who lived those troubled times: a US soldier, a German officer, a young teacher from Bastogne and a child from Bastogne. A very, very touching experience, especially for someone who's grandfather fought in WWII. Many thanks to the organizers and management of the museum, this is truly an unique and brilliant way to show the history. You deserve 10 stars, not only 5, well done!!

A must-see for the American history buff. The museum is larger than it seems. You can rush through it in a couple hours, but could easily spend 3-4. There is an elevator to make things accessible.

Emma is very friendly. My audio didn't work and she back and forwards 3x for me. And she explain teh details about the coding machine and gave us suggestions not to miss the AR experience at outside. Need to drive 10 minutes to the real location partial of the defense line. It was very interesting museum and we love the short movie and exhibits.

The main facts of the war and the suffering of the soldiers, in order to better understand the Great History, are presented to you there. The center offers a very good overview of what the life of civilians could be like during the occupation, during the battle or even after it. The Bastogne War Museum is an extraordinary testament to the valor, sacrifice, and resilience of the soldiers and civilians who endured the hardships of World War II. Visiting this museum was an emotionally moving and educational experience. The museum's design and layout are impeccable, guiding visitors through the chronology of events leading up to the historic Battle of the Bulge. The interactive exhibits, life-sized dioramas, and audio-visual presentations offered a truly immersive experience, making the past come alive. From the onset, I felt a deep sense of respect and admiration for the brave souls who faced unimaginable challenges during the war. The vast collection of artifacts, personal belongings, and authentic military equipment further enriched the experience. Each item told a unique story, giving a glimpse into the lives of those who fought and the civilians affected by the conflict. I was particularly moved by the personal accounts and letters displayed, which revealed the human side of war. The highlight of my visit was the recreated underground bunker, where I could almost feel the tension and fear that soldiers experienced during the battle. It was a humbling experience, reminding me of the importance of remembering history and its lessons for the future. The museum staff deserves special praise for their knowledge and dedication. They were friendly, approachable, and eager to answer questions, making the tour even more engaging. The Bastogne War Museum not only commemorates the sacrifices made during the war but also emphasizes the importance of peace and understanding. As I walked through the grounds, I couldn't help but reflect on the futility of war and the need for global unity. Whether you are a history enthusiast, a student, or just curious about the past, the Bastogne War Museum is a must-visit destination. It leaves an indelible mark on your heart and mind, and you'll walk away with a renewed appreciation for the peace we enjoy today. If you find yourself in this part of the world, don't miss the opportunity to pay homage to the heroes of the past and gain a deeper understanding of the events that shaped our world. I will forever cherish the memories and lessons I took away from this extraordinary museum.

After encountering so many world war 2 monuments within Luxembourg I wanted to know more about what exactly happened here during world war 2. And this museum came highly recommended, it didn't disappoint not one bit. It left me cold with goose bumps about the stories that where told through an audio headpiece. And through the myriad of infographics pictures etc.

Very well organised war museum dedicated to the battle of Bastogne. The visit takes about 2 hours and you can find also a very nice café with food and drinks until closing time. The parking lot is quite large.

Excellent museum, focusing on the battle of the Bulge. You get a headset at the reception that leads you through the museum and tells the story from four different perspectives. This includes eloborate moving dioramas and many artifacts and vehicles. Tour is available in English, German, French and Dutch and probably more languages. Staff is helpful, and the cafetaria and book shop are nice.

This is a must-see. Extraordinarily well-put together museum. You’re welcomed by the staff who give you an audio device. This is your guide. I know they offer English and French. The device is activated as you approach exhibits and enter one of the theaters along the tour. The museum is full of relics from both sides of the conflict: tanks, weapons, uniforms, k-rations, shave kits, and more. We strolled for about 3 hours and felt we covered everything well. The museum is set up to tell the story from the end of WWI and on. They use 4 characters from different backgrounds (American paratrooper, German officer, Belgian schoolteacher, and a young boy from Bastogne)—this added depth to the exhibits and made it a story, not just a “look and see museum”. The whole thing is immersive and well-detailed. Truly an outstanding museum. Outside, there’s the WWII monument. It’s a star shaped statute otherwise as large as an office building. Visitors can walk through the pillars, and go upstairs for a few of the surrounding Ardennes region. There’s a small cafe attached with an appreciable selection. The gift shop had an eclectic selection—some of it made sense: Patton, Bastogne, and 101st AB gear—but also a Texas A&M t-shirt. Note: small kids will struggle—bring a stroller. My 6 and 8 year old were all set and really enjoyed it. My 3 year old struggled. Plenty of parking and areas for a picnic.

A must-see if you are interested in World War 2, the Battle of the Bulge ... or not. Go visit this museum and experience the winter of 1944/45 through the eyes of four different persons. I've been there three times already and there's always something new to discover. The vehicle collection includes several Sherman variants, a Jagdpanzer 38 (or at least a post-war G13 made up to look like one) and many others. A very good museum which I highly recommend.

Great and modern museum. It's narrated through the story of four individuals that took part in the Battle of the Bulge. The audioguide automatically plays as you walk through exhibition. It starts with WWII crash course and events that led to the battle. There are three movies in extremely thought of rooms. The temperature is couple of degrees lower in one that talks about Ardennes in snow. The movies are made for people who don't want to read and want to get a quick digest of the battle. All three are about 15min long. You will find only two tanks there.

A very unique take on the museum experience, it's more like a story to walk though with multiple short movies to watch between the larger halls and spoken explanation by the characters from the story telling there views and experiences about the battle.

This is a very impressive war museum. Their main feature is the Battle of the Bulge - the war in the Ardennes mainly heavily fought in the Belgian part of the region. They also covered what was going on before the war, and after. They also showed a summary of how the other countries fought during WW2. The place is big so make it a full day experience if you wish to see their "Bois Jacques" programme. It is also partially interactive which makes it more interesting.

This is an awesome and must-see museum for all those stationed or visiting in Europe. It is very informative from beginning to end and very important for all, especially in today's turbulent political climate, to see how true fascism starts. The memorial and recounting of the events leading up to, during, and after the battle of the budge will be both informative and entertaining for all ages. My 3-year-old enjoyed the video segments. Well done to the staff of the Bastogne War Museum. This was a personal experience, for me because my grandfather fought through here and I now understand better, how hard they fought to liberate Europe from the fascistic national socialist.

I spent about 2 hours here. It was a very enlightening and many storys that where personal and there telling extended long into the tour. One thing I particularly enjoyed, was that I could go in my own pace and even go back to a exhibitions, if I felt like it. I would recommend anyone to go that is into history.

We visited this place on Sunday. The museum is very interesting and engaging. Do not miss out three separate immersive mini-cinema like shows that reflected different periods of the war. And after the main visit, “Generations 45” was a very nice addition to connect the war to our modern day periods. Museum is able to capture both the facts and details of the war in massive scale and how this war affected the lives of simple, ordinary people.

Excellent museum, one of the best I've ever been too. Everything is explained in multiple languages (English, French, German and Dutch). The exhibit covers pre-WW2, WW2, and post WW2. This is a great museum about WW2. There are a lot of vehicles and personal equipment from both sides. They have a fantastic audio headset program which triggers automatically as you move around. There are narrated stories of citizens around the Bastogne area, an American soldier and a german soldier. There are 3 theaters so you have a few minutes to sit. There are several other museums covering different themes in the area. I'll go back and spend 2 days. If you only have time for 1, do this one. I wasn't specifically looking at the accessibility features, but it seemed well suited for wheelchair or limited mobility. It is a big space with multiple floors so check the website. The staff spoke English and if you're a veteran, show your id for a discount. If you don't mind driving for a couple of hours, the memorial for the wereth 11 is simple but speaks volumes for the soldiers and the villagers who tried to help them.

The museum is about telling the WWII story. Without headphones (voice guides) there is not so much to see. Movies are of good quality though. Personally like seeing more relics. If you like to see tanks this is not your museum.

By far the best & also best equipped Battle of the Bulge museums. What a magnificent collection of tanks and other weapons, and displays full of battle of the bulge soldiers in correct uniforms: American&German and even Japanese and Russian. And of course the world famous American Mardasson monument (the 5-pointed star shaped) with on the columns the names of all the States that provided soldiers to the US army and the armies, units that fought in The Bulge.

I loved this place. I thoroughly enjoyed the theatrical elements. The only thing I could mention that negatively impacted my visit is that the audioguide distracts from reading whats on the displays, also, I feel it'd provide much more additional value if the entire exhibition was arranged in chronological order. Loved it.

They have listening devices in several languages. The flow was good. We ate at the cafe after and the food read really good. My favorite part was the monument outside though. You can go up on top of it and it has beautiful views. The parking was free and there was plenty of it.

Impressive museum showcasing in high detail the history of WWII and in particular the heavy fights of Battle of the Bulge around the town of Bastogne, in which thousands of soldiers and civilians were killed, wounded or displaced. Amazing curation of the museum with authentic artefacts, including a Jeep Willys, Sherman tanks and a Jagdpanzer.

Having been to more war museums than I can count, this one is by far THE best. First off, you MUST get the audio set which of course you need to pay for but that is what makes this experience outstanding. At first I though the price was a little expensive but it was absolutely worth every penny. The audio guides you through the life of four different people (real life, not fiction) to depict different experiences and views of how the events unfolded - this personification have such deep perspective and understanding. Be patient and watch all the short movies which are all very different and immersive. We legitimately spent the entire day there and then drove to the field where they had yet another component of the museum where you get to see the exact location and through QR codes you get a 360 degree experience of what happened in that specific area! Our teens were even engaged the entire time and tears were shed. Very memorable and moving museum. A must see!

Nice museum in various languages. If you read all the information, listen to all the audioguide sessions, do the 3 video sessions and the new generation 45 video, the visit will take quite long. We did only one movie as the panels and the 3d movies tell similar stories as does the audioguide. But all in all, definitely worth a visit.

Amazing WW2 museum, well structured, rich in objects, weapons and testimonies of the battle of the Ardennes

Great Museum! The audio tour was impressive and the stories were compelling. Always know we hit a got place when the kids are talking about it afterwards. The outdoor monument was very impressive and the roof of it had bronze reliefs of where units where and facilitated an impromptu 'terrain walk' without going to each location. I got to see the battlefield that had been described to us multiple times as young 101st Airborne Soldiers (Air Assault).

The exhibits are not vast, but the whole "scenery" has been set very well, thus is able to give the visitor a "true" sense of the savagery of war.

Very impressive and grounding. The way the history is told is very empathic and makes it easier to imagine what people went through during these years. The roles people played are carefully and clearly shown in who they were and how they acted. All in all something I would recommend to everyone.

4 characters lead you through the museum (through audio guides which are delivered upon entrance without additional charge), allowing you to give you an idea about the events from each ones perspective. Movies are really worth watching!

This place is cool. It is focused on the war and does not have much on the Battle for Bastogne. I enjoyed my visit. If you are American Military they will give you a 50cent discount so enjoy that.

Beautiful war museum with a good storyline with follows different people through the Battle of the bulge. They combined objects and different animated parts in a way that is almost like a theater. Very interesting to learn more about this brutal battle and to see the monument dedicated to the battle.

As a Marine, I was still VERY impressed with this historic and accurate memorial to the brave men who defended the region against the Germans. I just happened to visit on the 75th anniversary and was so very impressed with the museum and folks who worked there. Being a "Band of Brothers" fanatic, this was a very emotional day for me which will last for my lifetime!

Shows a very complete view of the Battle of the Bulge. Also focusses on individual stories in addition to the large picture, which makes for a nice experience Unfortunately, due to the way its set up, it's quite difficult to maintain social distancing

Absolutely awesome experience. Staff is super friendly. Museum is very clean and modern. Storyline through the eyes of 4 characters is brilliant. Loved it.

Well done. The audio tour advancing itself without input is really neat. Plenty of parking, but wonder if that's due to covid. Lots of displays, and each individual movie theater having an external countdown to next showing was welcome.

The Bastogne War Museum is the major site of memory dedicated to WW2 in the Ardennes and in Belgium, as seen through the spectacular prism of the Battle of the Bulge. This unique site of memory offers an immersive visit-experience thanks to three veritable multi sensory, 3 D stage settings, in which you relive the life-story of four characters at the heart of the action. By way of an array of museum techniques-decors, testimonies, multimedia installations, films-the journey to which you're invited appeals to your mind and soul alike, thus making you feel that this history is indeed your history... Don't forget to visit the Mardasson Memorial, a stone's throw from the museum. It is an important lieu de mémoire endowed with a crypt decorated by Fernand Léger, one of the most acclaimed French painters of the 20th century.

😠 Absolute shame that our boys fought and died here so that the Bastogne War Museum could make money off entry to the grounds. Free and open for 78 years until now. Truly shameful.

👍👍 Images from the Mardasson Memorial. Honoring the memory of American soldiers who were wounded or killed in the Battle of the Bulge. We should never forget. The museum was closed, but this monument brought tears to my sarcastic, cynical eyes. A great way to end our trip.
