I had been following this place on Facebook for a few years when I finally decided to try it out, and it sure was worth it! Me and my girlfriend made a daytrip out of it and drove 1.5 hours one way to pick up our order (and ate in the car Corona style :) High quality ingredients that are prepared with love. It's definitely not cheap but you get what you pay for. The Philly cheese steak was without a doubt the best one I've had.

Nothing to fault, excellent ramen and I loved the bao bun and ginger beer!

My friends and I have made visiting here for lunch on Thursday’s a weekly tradition over the past months. The ramen inspired noodle dishes they make are top notch and the bao buns are delicious. I’ve also enjoyed a great burger as well as some pie. The historic building is oozing with character, and you’ll just want to hang out in here for hours. Pho Noodle Soup featured in the photo.

Great coffee, super friendly stuff and amazing food for a reasonable price considering the quality of it and amount of skill and effort that is put into it 🍔🥪🍜 You can also buy a fresh bread, croissants and worstenbroodjes that are just delicious 🍞🥐🥖

Really nice quiet place to eat at. The Philly Cheesesteak Sub was too salty and not so great. The hamburger was pretty good, though. Staff is friendly and funny.

Handmade bread every single day, probably the best bread in town! The place is beautiful and you can sit by the window facing Tilburg's most beautiful streets with old buildings. Pig & Rye take their food seriously. Every single thing I ordered from their menu was AMAZING. Also, they have the best grilled cheese sandwich in Tilburg (psst! order the one with pastrami!). Hands down. Oh! They have specials every day, which is off-menu. And honestly, it's always worth the try. I still can't forget about the Char Siu Bun I had! Their desserts are also good! Rich, dense, decadent, it's easy to fill up after just their brownie and they don't skip on the quality either! The staff are super friendly and they're always ready to help in Dutch/English. The only downside of this place is they don't serve dinner. But that's part of their charm. If you're visiting Tilburg, or if you're a local and you haven't tried this place, YOU MUST!

We went there on a Sunday evening to celebrate my moms birthday. The place was quiet with few other diners and nicely decorated. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was hit, then missed. We had a delicious experience with the starters as they had interesting combinations of flavours. Would recommend trying these dishes. The dishes offered were also pretty unique, in a sense they are not sth one would find in a typical restaurant around Netherlands, in which we appreciated. The main courses were sadly a let down. The steak, albeit nicely done, was swimming in a pool of pretty bland sauce. (Way too much sauce!) And the Haddock, nicely cooked, was paired with a forgettable sauce, that also didnt pair well with the greens. Perhaps because I was expecting a little more complex taste in either of the dishes, like the starters, but both dishes were just salty and boring. Personally, would have preferred a slightly more acidic sauce. All in all, it’s a pretty decent place especially for romantic dinners. The prices for food are reasonable imo, but not the drinks. We ordered a bottle of wine recommended by the waiter, which cost more than €80, but tasted at most like a 60-70 typical restaurant wine. Even their regular range wines were expensive for their quality (40-45/btl). We will not return for dinner but would love to try their lunch menu someday!

Cool place, discovered walking through the city. The food is amazing and the variety of choice is surprising. Obviously for such good quality you pay a higher price than the usual place for lunch. But is worth every penny!

No nonsense, artinsenal bistro-like cooking, with a menu that reads classical French with a bit of adventure. At least that's how it seems. Sadly the adventure wasn't for us. Straight forward, honest cooking with few ingredients can be great, but there is no place to hide. The food was pretty bland and flavourless or way to salty. The starters were fine, but the mains didn't deliver. Especially the hake with oxtail was pretty lacking. The fish was dry, the batter fatty and the rest of the dish overly salty and also drained in fat. The other main, the pork chop, was on the fatty side, however good quality meat. Where it said cider gravy, it was a strong mustard sauce. The rest of the plate was underwhelming. Apple sauce, a little bit of arugula and a few baby patatos. The wine list is pretty good, with a extensive selection of natural wines, but the prices are pretty steep. A decent pick of wines per glass, but they also suffer the same faith. Maybe it was a bit busy, but the food took it's time. We had two courses and a coffee and spend about 3 hours there. Service seemed a bit overwhelmed, maybe by the place being full, so it was hard to get their attention. Nevertheless they were helpful and friendly. The place looks nice, the building is charming, but needs some maintenance and the acoustics aren't great. When it's busy you have to seriously raise your voice. All in all it wasn't it for us. On paper this place ticks all of our boxes. In practice it didn't deliver. The check was a bit more than €150 for two people, two courses, a bottle of wine and two coffee.

I came to know about Pig & Rye when my girlfriend started sending me pictures from the nicely curated Instagram page. Gorgeous looking cuts of high quality meat, rare and delicious fish, mussels, truffle, caviar, lobster and the lot. I was instantly sold, the only issue being the fact that this gem of a restaurant is located in Tilburg, not exactly around the corner considering we live in Amsterdam. Fast forward 10 months we finally decide to make the trip and our (pretty high) expectations were not just met but vastly exceeded. We will be back. What we ordered: Salame di Culatello with sourdough bread and a glass of orange wine. Red Mullet with green sauce. Four gras and anchovies on toast. Monk fish with braided oxtail and perigeaux sauce and black truffle. Back Angus steak with red wine reduction sauce and bone marrow. Paired with a bottle of beautiful natural grenache

The second time here. I was very excited to come back as it has a different style than most places around. French cuisine with great classic recipes. Straight forward cooking which I like to see as not many truly do. Here you can find those great flavors. However, low value for money and many mistakes. This place will be excellent if they would be more down to earth and understand the guest expectation. Ambience and lighting also need more attention. I will come back soon to follow the progress.

Babkas & chocolate croissants are magic. So is the homemade hot sauce, though in a very different way.

Their bread isn’t cheap but it was worth it. The assistant was friendly and polite. He described his assortiment in good English and gave advice what to choose. I recommend 100%.

Such a nice place! The concentration of the flavor, the tenderness of the meat, the balance of salty, sweet , sour taste in the food they offered, all these things make this place a great lunch place. Try their milkshake, it’s just the right balance. I think ppl should really try it out.
