First starters I only gave 1 star because it doesn’t allow you to put zero stars. I called my order in & I was warned it was 1 hour to 1 hour & 10 mins before my food would be ready. I said no problem I’d be there in an hour obviously it’s busy so I understood. I ordered a shrimp tempura appetizer & a Philly roll. As seen in picture there is obviously something on my ginger which looks gross 🤮 I have no idea what it is! I called to complain that my food was beyond cold. I was told “sorry” very insincerely & “If there’s a way I can just heat it up”.. Is that some sort of joke? Why would I order food to just warm it up at my house? & to add I also I took a picture of the amount of soy sauce I received with my sushi..clearly looks like someone’s used left overs. First & last time ordering. Extremely disappointed with my overall service. I suggest never ordering here. A long wait for cold food. Good luck getting new customers with that service. Do not recommend.

Sushi was excellent. Fresh, delicious, melt in your mouth quality. Service was a little slow but it was packed and they were short staffed like many other places right now.

An amazing find in Toms River. We made a last minute decision looking for some asian food, and it was all high marks for us. Food was amazing, generous with vegetables, food was temperature hot and delish!! Had one of best lettuce wraps I've tasted so far. Specials were great, the fish was cooked to perfection. We were taken care of throughout, the service had masks to protect, and the whole team was so welcoming and accommodating. The place has nice outside seating, pleasant, and away from the sun. Spice lovers should recommend something with an extra kick on the side, but we found the tastes so amazing we did not bother to ask.

Incredible food, I ordered the shrimp and chicken hibachi along with the fried rice hibachi. The chicken was juicy and tender and the shrimp tasted fresh. The friend rice was also great, as well as the soup and salad. I don’t know what they put in that salad dressing but I loved it. Our waiter was very accommodating, couldn’t have asked for more out of the service. We sat outside, as per our request, and the atmosphere was nice and relaxing. I highly suggest anyone who lives nearby or is on vacation in the Jersey Shore to stop here for dinner.

Ah, this place! The ENERGY! It's immediately a favorite. My first time was less than a week ago and I met some of the regulars. They have known the owner for years. Great people. The pair sat on the same side of the table. So last night I found myself there again. The sushi is really good! I tried the cucumber wrapped ones, the soy paper wrapped ones, the edamame, the spicy tuna. All delicious! The owner is caring and conscious of her patrons and her staff. Very pleased!

Got hibachi to go. (I know but we have a 1 year old so eating out is hard) . Came with plain white rice boo.No pasta and No sauces typically you would get a mustard and ginger sauce for seafood but nope. Wife got chicken and I got steak and scallops. Looked like about a 4oz portion of steak and 4 scallops. Scallops weren't seared like anyone with a flat top would do. Generally disappointed. Maybe they have good sushi?

Updated 7/30/2023...4 years ago we gave Teresa's 5 stars but....We've been eating at Teresa's both takeout and dine in for the past many years and overwhelmingly our experience has been really good. However, The last 3 times have been a disappointing disaster. Most recently the chicken in the Hot & Spicy chicken was so under-cooked that the center was RAW. A few weeks back our sushi order was best described as "gas station" like sushi. It's as if they use the sub-par sushi on to go orders. Thanks for the memories Teresa's but not again.

Go there quite frequently with my mother. The food is amazing and the service is welcoming and fast. They will try to take what ever roll you my like if not on menu but there will be up charges for specials. I'm a big on the grilled octopus and sexy lady appetizers unique and delicious that aren't traditionally found at other local restaurants. Also done take out quick and prompt service.

The best ever, fresh and has flavor and if you want deliciousness it will take time to make. They were very pleasant especially Steve who I had as my server and the rest of the staff was amazing. Anyone else says differently has no taste lol

Excellent experience! Indoor and outdoor seating options. Many selections on the menu, so we asked our server for suggestions. We started out with gyoza and shumai. Per our servers' suggestion, we ordered Luigi, Dragon and Snow Mountain rolls. Everyone enjoyed them but said Luigi & Dragon were the stand outs. One person in the group was not a seafood lover. They ordered Spicy Chicken Lettuce Wraps, which was a very generous portion and def shareable. You can select spiciness on a scale of 1-10. If you like spice, 10 was very flavorful and not nuclear. (The person in our party lived in Sichuan China and really enjoyed the flavor & spice.) Overall, great meal and service. We will definitely return in the future.

Crab salad I ordered I just might as well gotten cucumber salad Shrimp, fried Rice was the worst I’ve ever had shrimp or cut up. They’re not even whole will never go back again shame on you. i’ll continue going to xinas from now on.

The service was nasty. They shut their phones off because too many of us calling and bothering them. We lost a whole container of food because of how poorly packaged it was. Stuffed everything in one bag and the bag busted by the time we got home. 10 min drive. Also they give you skimpy portions. Barely any rice. Will never come here again. Worst hibachi have ever had.

Sushi is bland for the amount you are paying. Not my usual place I’d go to, but I won’t be going back.

Good sushi, over priced and not very nice! Charged me $1.50 for 1/2 container of ginger after I just spent $60 on sushi! Never again

I came here for my birthday and it was amazing, there was outdoor seating and the service was great. The food was very flavorful and i recommend this place.

I have been going to Teresa's since I was 5 years old. She's an amazing woman who runs an amazing restaurant. My absolute favorite place to eat!!!!

outdoor dining was very well presented, service was good, sushi was OK..what was disappointing was that there were no prices on the board regarding I'm guessing special apps & sushi. Be sure you ask for specials without pricing or you will be greatly be upset. (Tuna, Salmon, & avocado pizza)..and other specials

Terrific service from Abbey. The menu is full of interesting rolls. I chose the Al Capone and it was delightful. Miso soup was lovely, the tofu was like silk. It is a BYO so you can bring your favorite libations. We will be back.

Great food and service. Start with hot towels for you hands. Great selection of sushi options, table hibachi, and hot stone service. Kid friendly. Great modern relaxing decor. Nice portions for the $. Tempura not greasy. Fresh, good quality, and flavorful ingredients. Family loved this place.

We had takeout dinner for 3 last week. The food is always consistently good. Teresa greeted us with her infectious smile. We highly recommend Teresa's Osaka restaurant.

This was NOT hibachi if you have to pay extra to actually get “hibachi” noodles or “hibachi” rice! Small portions! Bland food! Two dinners were barely enough for one person. The food had zero taste. It didn’t come with normal hibachi sauces. The steak was tough and over cooked. I’ve never been disappointed with hibachi anywhere until now. Terrible.

Not happy with service tonight for the price of dinner we paid. 6 pm dinner on Sat night is erratic left us leaving with regret. Food was good but waited forever for courses and food for 4 people was served at different times, additionally they forgot soups that came for sushi and sashimi meals. Disappointing… they are not prepared for the inflow of people they get for busy dinners.

Food was decent at best, large servings though. First and last time we will be dining here. Once we ordered the food, it was served an hour and a half later .The waiter (Steve) had the audacity to add a automatic 25% service fee to our check.

My first time here was for a work holiday party. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very sleek but cozy. The staff were all really friendly and very attentive even happily taking group pics of our party for us. The food was excellent with the variety and quality. It was a wonderful experience and I will be back to explore their menu

Not happy on this visit with the Seafood Combo. The fish was overcooked, and the scallops were undercooked. I've enjoyed their sushi rolls in the past, but ordered the wrthing this time. Even though we arrived early and were seated comfortably, the next two customers were seated very close on either side of us!

Teresa and her husband are hospitable and personable folks, and if they are not too busy helping the staff, they will surely come by your table with an enthusiastic hello! I love the food choices. They're all good, and healthy too.

All-around terrible experience. The food took over two hours to come, and we did not receive an apology, explanation, or compensation for the wait. Was NOT at all impressed with the quality, taste, or presentation of the meals. The food was tasteless and poorly prepared. Not worth the visit for any reason.

Great , excellent food ,great service

Tried to visit a few weekends ago and sit outside in their tent. We had a reservation, but were asked to wait for a table. While we were waiting we noticed the tent was cramped and not spaced well, so we decided not to eat here. I've heard the food is good, but it was not worth the risk.

Because of Covid we ordered take-out..the menu states "Hibachi" After I ordered 8 hibachi meals I was told those meals don't come with rice or noodles, so I ordered noodles and rice separately and asked for no vegetables in each...I also ordered sushi rolls...I placed my order at 11 a.m thinking everything would be made fresh...my husband picked up and paid $180.00... the food was cold , sushi was old, vegetables in the noodles and rice...portions were small and the food was terrible..they charged full price for hibachi meals and it was a container of meat..how is that hibachi?

It was excellent. The fried calamari and shrimp with the sweet spicy sauce was so tasty along with the sushi and tempura.

Better-than-average Sushi, excellent for the area. Tasty and fresh. Friendly service, good selection at good prices. Teresa is the owner, she runs a tight ship. Say hi when you stop on by.

Octopus is to die for, awesome place to have fresh seafood and great Japanese rolls and fresh sashimi. They have outdoor seating with tent and heat, very friendly atmosphere.

Great place to relax and have a night out with friends . So cool place. The store is really clean. The service was quick. The staff are very polite.

Not handling pandemic seating well. Seating in outdoor tent is very tight with poor ventilation. When the gentleman seating people asked us to wait 10 more min after our reservation, he showed us where to wait by gripping my arm to guide me. I consider it rather rude to be touched without permission. When we decided to leave due to this (not yet seated, no order placed) he made a minor scene, yelling across the parking lot. Don't know how the food is, but the staff is rude.

Probably the best Japanese restaurant I've been too. Service is excellent. Food is fresh and made to order. Menu is very good.

This is our GO-TO Sushi place! The Sushi is as close to what you get in Japan as we can find! Its always fun to ask Teresa what we should get!

The best personal service based on a common understanding of real people to build a long lasting friendship with us @ 720 miles away. A friendship that was not forgotten or ignored. Went for a rehearsal dinner. Food was ok. They didn't serve ice cream like they usually do after our dinner. Disappointed after spending over 1000 for the meals

Unbelievably authentic Japanese cuisine. Started with the Blackened peppercorns tuna appetizer. So fresh and delicious. Then the perky Seabass roll. So good. Finally the hibachi steak and seafood dinners unreal. All the way through the white, pork fried rice and noodles. Can't wait to get back there. Finally the staff, Everyone went above and beyond to make sure our night was perfect. Thank you Theresa's.. Can't wait to support your local business again.

Japanese food and the feeling here is excellent. I give this place two thumbs up. Really nothing but enjoyable experiences here, I'll be back. Feeling here is similar to a place in Columbus I liked.

slow service need to improve

The food is great and they have an extensive menu, the sushi choices are plentiful. Steve the waiter is great and Theresa the owner is gracious and welcoming. Make a reservation.

Stay away. Entrees took 2 hours to arrive at table after order. It also came out piecemeal and with no sauces. Half the people at the table had food but no sauces that went with it so couldn’t even start. One meal was totally forgotten by staff and came out 2 hrs and twenty minutes later. No apologies until I asked how they could possibly charge us for the meal that took over two hours that they forgot about. Other than the app, food not good. Owner/Manager never came over to explain delay or apologize and sent waiter to take lumps and made waiter offer to pay for the forgotten meal. Worst dining experience in a long time.

Everything about this place was perfect. My wife and I went for our anniversary. Our server, Steven was incredibly friendly and kind. The food was better then I had expected as well. Would 100% recommend for everyone!
