Chinese sushi If you are looking for a fast food alternative to McD’s or supermarket sushi, this place is just OK. It is BYOB so that’s a saving, and the fish quality is just OK. We sampled several appetizers, rolls and specialty rolls. The server speaks English and writes the order in Chinese so I assume the kitchen/sushi bar staff are Chinese. I ordered the appetizers in Japanese but she did not understand so we reverted to English. The fried oyster appetizer was over cooked into hard balls. Age dashi tofu was over breaded deep fried tofu cubes with a side of soy sauce and mirin mixture…. Not dashi. And not lightly fried and served in a dashi broth which is correct. The various maki zushi were just ok but nothing for a return visit. Too bad that Chinese owners choose to make and sell mediocre “Japanese” food for its markup potential. The supermarket has better quality.

Very solid sushi at a very solid price. Ordered a few different rolls, and wasn’t disappointed at all. This place definitely hits the spot for a la carte sushi.

Never dissatisfied with the food here. I think this is one of the best places to eat in Toms River. Period. And the prices are great, so you will walk out with a full belly without a thin wallet.

Delicious food with a good price. Today I got Tuna roll, chicken tempura roll and spicy tempura roll.

I went because of the good comments I read. but my sushi wasn't really good, the taste was ok but I can't say it was legitimately Sushi and the soy sauce was watery. the price is what is really good so I guess that is the reason to come to this restaurant. customer service also below average. maybe because the restaurant was full, but even so when we left we said goodbye and no one answered. I insist I suppose that the best thing about the place is the price of the food.

This place is the best. Restaurant clean. Staff very friendly and quick. Prices are fair. Food is always great. We go or get take out regularly and it’s delicious. My young kids love the Singapore noodles and sushi rolls. Crab Rangoons are super tasty.

This place is awesome! They have SO MANY SUSHI OPTIONS! There’s like 3 columns of special rolls. The menu is 95% sushi, so if you’re looking for more options it might not be the best choice. I got the lover rolls, Christmas, and spicy girl. The wait staff was nice too, we went closer to closing and stayed to chat after we finished and they were not trying to kick us out or be pushy (we weren’t the last in but still). Easy location to find too. Standard pricing, despite the half off signs on all the specials lol! Definitely gonna go back soon.

They need better workers and not rude.But the foods here good.

Great food and customer service

Having a tasty, affordable sushi spot close to home is extremely important to me; and that's exactly what Uminoya is! I've been going to Uminoya for quite some time now and I've never once had a bad or less than satisfactory experience. You are seated promptly, the serving staff are accommodating and quick to attend to you and the food comes out fresh every time. Uminoya has a wide selection of sushi rolls of tons of different variations. Sushi not your thing? That's fine! You can also find various hibachi options and dishes with lo mein, too. If you're looking to have a glass of wine with your meal or share some beer with your friends, you can BYOB any time! Everything is very well priced and for the amount of food you receive, it's totally worth it. Highly, highly recommend trying Uminoya at least once...but I can almost guarantee you'll be back a second time.

Yummy-noya! My 1st visit was a very pleasant surprise- excellent sushi, very reasonably priced, and likely the BEST hibachi Scallops ever! Dinner partners were also very please with tempura. 2nd visit even surpassed the 1st! Brought a guest who was a novice to Japanese and got her to try (and I think, love) cucumber roll and she said the steak in her hibachi was the best she ever had. Perfectly cooked and seasoned and she even liked the veggies!

Is it the world's greatest sushi? No. Is it the best bang for your buck anywhere on the jersey shore? Oh hells yeah it is which is why i go out of my way to Silverton for sushi despite living a half hour away with a multitude of other sushi options along the way

Ordered from here tonight & got the "Healthy chicken with vegetables" with the teriyaki sauce on the side. As I was eating it I noticed and odd taste and through that I maybe just didn't like the sauce. Not even an hour later and I cannot stop throwing up. I must have gotten food poisoning from the chicken or something in the meal. Not sure if it was an off night but very disappointed I spent my money on this meal.

Love this spot for authentic and fresh food! Everything I have ever gotten off the menu has been a hit. When a friend is craving sushi I bring them here. Service is always fast and the food comes out quickly well. Super clean also. Highly recommend for a quick bite

Uminoya has the best sushi in our area. We go there often. Sometimes we call our orders in and take out. Each time, we are very satisfied with our food. I recommend Uminoya to anyone who loves sushi.

This is such an affordable sushi go-to spot. While the rolls are rather cheap, you are getting what you are paying for. The rolls are not as full as they would be in other spots but really is price friendly. Their fried rice and lo mein appetizers are so big proportion and their hibachi special is also a great go-to as well. Overall, a good spot if you are balling on a budget.

Great price for shrimp tempura roll. Taste and quality average. The shrimp was over done, rice was moist and seaweed wrap was also good. sometimes it’s chewy not my order. I didn’t order anything on the side like spicy mayo because it’s extra.

It's the best bang for buck in the area. The sushi is alright, nothing to rave about, but it's cheaper then anywhere nearby, including grocery stores. If you're looking for quality, there are many better not far from here.

Fresh excellent sushi! What a great place with friendly service and amazing prices. Usually when we go out with the kids it's well over $100 especially for sushi,I was shocked to see our bill for four under $100. This place is adorable with decorations of Japanese art and kitty cat's.I was also amazed how fast and generous the portions are. Definitely try the M&M and the spicy yellowtail hand roll!

Literally the best sushi I’ve ever had. I’ve been searching for a place like this for years and have had to settle until now! Take out was just as delicious as dine in. Super fresh, and the rolls are priced very well.

We went here for my young son’s birthday - his one wish, sushi for dinner. The restaurant itself is very warm and inviting, I enjoyed the space and atmosphere so much! The food was all delicious, very reasonably priced. The staff were great and even brought out mochi with a birthday candle for my kiddo. We had such a nice meal and look forward to coming back soon!

Everything is so fresh and made to order. Love the sweet potato roll, Mia roll and chicken pineapple fried rice. All sushi is 50% off. Seating available or take out. Highly recommend, hidden gem!

Friendly, efficient staff. Food was good. (Had volcano rolls and Philadelphia rolls.) Had an efficient system for Covid safety. Will definitely go back.
