I
booked
New
Body
and
Mind
because
after
the
pandemic,
doing
a
degree
and
losing
my
father,
my
mental
health
had
deteriorated
and
so
had
my
ability
to
nurture
myself
effectively.
I
was
eating
poorly,
sleeping
all
the
time,
my
brain
was
working
overtime
when
I
was
awake
and
I
was
coping
using
junk
food.
I
had
gained
a
lot
of
weight
and
my
chronic
health
condition
(hEDS)
was
deteriorating.
I
had
to
do
something
to
dramatically
change
the
way
I
was
living.
Sadly,
on
day
one
I
fell
and
broke
my
wrist.
This
was
no
one's
fault,
I
slipped
on
a
dirt
track
when
out
walking.
However,
I
truly
believe
that
it
did
not
detract
much
from
my
experience.
In
fact,
it
made
me
more
aware
of
my
body
and
the
pace
with
which
I
usually
operate.
I
was
forced
to
slow
down
and
rest
more
than
I
otherwise
might.
The
whole
team
were
great.
I
was
accompanied
and
visited
in
hospital
and
they
also
brought
me
in
delicious
food.
My
programme
was
adjusted
so
that
I
ate
as
my
medication
required
and
more
strenuous
exercise
was
excluded.
I
also
could
not
get
the
site
of
operation
wet,
so
this
limited
any
water-based
activities
including
the
sauna
and
steam
room.
However,
I
was
still
able
to
participate
in
adapted
yoga,
meditation
and
do
colonics,
I
did
9
days
of
juice
fasting
and
morning
walks.
I
also
did
the
excursions,
saw
the
rest
of
the
island,
and
even
spent
time
with
elephants
in
a
sanctuary
(not
included
with
NBaM).
I
lost
around
8kg
of
fat,
cleared
loads
of
gallstones
with
the
liver
flush
and
reset
my
relationship
with
my
body
and
food.
I
also
read
loads
of
books
and
rested.
The
staff
were
really
good
at
supporting
me
physically
and
emotionally
because
initially,
I
needed
a
lot
of
help,
tying
up
my
bikini,
brushing
my
hair,
suncream
and
mosquito
spray
etc.
I
felt
able
to
ask
the
women
and
they
graciously
helped
me.
Also,
the
other
clients
were
really
supportive
due
to
the
strong
camaraderie
of
the
group.
Many
people
travelled
there
solo
and
I
was
there
for
a
month,
so
saw
many
people
come
and
go.
We
all
wanted
to
achieve
the
same
things
and
I
made
friends
very
easily
-
and
I
usually
find
making
friends
daunting.
I
would
definitely
recommend
this
place
for
a
thorough
programme
and
personal
service.
The
accommodation
was
incredibly
clean,
the
housekeepers
must
have
been
in
about
3
times
a
day
because
it
was
always
pristine.
The
staff
even
came
to
spray
my
room
when
a
mosquito
got
in
on
one
occasion.
I
can
completely
understand
why
this
place
has
so
many
repeat
visitors
and
I
will
certainly
be
one
of
them.
