The section where it connects with the Garonne River is quite picturesque. The twin locks are still operational. When we were on the riverboat tour, we saw them being manually operated - love the engineering details. There is a pleasant canalside walk that leads to a new section of the Universite Toulouse 1 Capitole - Manufacture des Tabacs :: forrmerly a tobacco factory, the adaptive re-use strategy for this building is interesting. .. worth exploring. Should you want to take a break, there are several coffee places on Boulevard Marechal Leclerc, opposite the University entrance

The Little Venice of Toulouse. Great for walk along the canal in the morning or afternoon and feel the nature. Can start in Canal de Midi which connected to Brienne Have benches all along the canal so can have a rest while enjoying the nature. Easy to reach by Metro and Bus.

A must see for everyone who visits Toulouse. The Canal de Brienne is a beautiful place for a walk or a run, and you see a lot of locals going about their daily jogging here. If the weather is nice, take the boat trip on the canal, which enables you to get ti know a bit more of the city history. The downfall is that the tour guide is always in french. It will surely be worth it!

Nice canal that looks really beautiful at night. Very quiet and calm with not many people around usually. Great for a peaceful walk. Residential buildings and few small shops possess the nearby areas. It has a few small bridges which can help you get amazing photographs. Very much in the city, which makes it easier to visit.

Mirror reflection view of canal du midi. One place to not miss by tourist, hiker, cyclists, runner, picnic, leisure walk, calm sitting and what not. Absolutely stunning 😍

Lived there for 4 years (Toulouse). Of its canals, this was always my favorite with the wheeping trees lining each side. Wonderful!
