I
love
and
appreciate
this
statue
which
could
be
confused
with
a
mime
artist.
The
statue
is
well
made
and
full
of
details.
For
history
Carlos
Gardel
is
a
tango
singer
and
composer
born
in
Toulouse
in
1890
and
died
in
1935.
He
and
his
mother
emigrated
to
Argentina
in
1892.
The
rest
belongs
to
the
history
of
20th
century
music,
in
this
case
his
work
and
his
voice
were
classified
as
UNESCO
Memory
of
the
World
in
2003.
The
sculpture
is
made
of
bronze.
It
was
inaugurated
in
2018.
It
is
the
work
of
sculptor
Sébastien
Langloÿs.
Note
that
it
is
this
same
sculptor
who
created
the
statue
of
Claude
Nougaro
which
is
located
in
Square
Charles
de
Gaulle.
The
bronze
Carlos
Gardel
invites
passers-by
to
come
and
dance
in
his
arms
like
the
little
couple
of
dancers
he
holds
in
his
left
hand.
I
like
this
statue
because
there
is
detail,
the
hat
in
his
right
hand
for
example,
and
I
find
it
amusing
and
joyful.
You
will
find
it
at
the
south
exit
of
the
Compans-Caffarelli
garden
on
Boulevard
Lascrosses.
