Beautiful cathedral in Toulouse. Some sections under construction. The pipe organ is huge (13 tons), I wish we could have heard it play. The statues, chapels, and alter surroundings were beautiful. I loved the layout with the ornate plaques for the stations of the cross going around behind the alter and near the chapels. Their website needs updated. It stated there was mass at 6:30PM Saturday and there was not. We went to a nearby church instead.

From the front door there is nothing to suggest it was open until I pushed at a door to the side and ventured inside. We've arrived there on a Sunday atound midday and loved it.The architecture, the beautiful green nature, the flowers inside and outside, really nice, but what I liked most was the fact that people from the community were sharing food for brunch and drinking wine, kids and dogs were running around. It looked just like in the movies. I've genuinely fell for the atmosphere there. Really nice experience.

I have to be honest, I really enjoy visiting old churches. This Cathedral is really well preserved and obviously used regularly to this day. The relics, painting, small chapels, etc made this visit really worth while. The Choir is one of the best examples I have seen. The wood carved seating was really interesting in that every seat was different than the one next to it. Like many throughout Europe this is a large, old church that is beautiful and is filled with artwork and history.
