Very impressive cathedral. Free to enter and walk about. The stain glass windows are really amazing, and the main atrium is just huge. There are an inexplicable number of confession booths. Why so many?

A cathedral in Toulouse located very close to the city center. It is quite and peaceful. The organ in the cathedral is amazing and they have shows occasionally. Usually it is less crowded in the afternoon in the weekends. Definitely recommended if you are visiting the beautiful city of Toulouse.

Cathedral in need of work. Nevertheless it is very big, we can clearly see the contrast of the two parts. It deserves more attention because it has a lot of potential. Otherwise it's a must to see in town ⛪️

A very beautiful cathedral from which from the outside, you would never have expected the beauty inside. Free to go in, quiet as you would expect, and a lovely place to reflect

Beautiful cathedral in Toulouse. Some sections under construction. The pipe organ is huge (13 tons), I wish we could have heard it play. The statues, chapels, and alter surroundings were beautiful. I loved the layout with the ornate plaques for the stations of the cross going around behind the alter and near the chapels. Their website needs updated. It stated there was mass at 6:30PM Saturday and there was not. We went to a nearby church instead.

Lovely look cathedral. If it wasn't for my persistence I would never have even known it was open to the public. From the front door there is nothing to suggest it was open until I pushed at a door to the side and ventured inside. Sadly, like a lot of these old churches parts of it seemed to be in the need of some TLC, but they don't get the money they need so what can they do. Otherwise there were some really nice features to take in included some really breathtaking stain glass windows. Well with the visit.

Beautiful cathedral, with a zig and a zag inside, graced with a fascinating diagonally positioned archway, that somehow works. Large repurposed altar to Jeanne d'Arc whose statue actually depicts her with short hair and more of a warrior than a helpless girl (not always the case). A wonderful example of overlapping periods of architecture and repairs/refurbishment. I appreciated the info panels about the different periods of construction and how it ended up with that strange but beautiful arch.

Saint Stephen's Cathedral, AKA Cathédrale St-Etienne, is a magnificent building that has a variety of architectural styles. The gorgeous mix that is currently visible was built over a period of 4 centuries, from the thirteenth to the seventeenth. When inside, the uneven height of the ceiling gives revelers the impression that they are visiting more than one building. It also adds a unique character that will leave a lasting impression.

The place is lively with a beautiful square. It's hard to ignore big empty space there is in the middle.

It was a very nice cathedral with interesting architecture. I spent more time here than I thought, but not too long (15-20 minutes). I would recommend reading up on the history before hand.

The most important landmark in Toulouse. The interior is beautiful and the decorations are exquisite. The neighborhood is quiet.

Beautiful architecture, kept in pristine condition. We happened to enter just as Sunday mass commenced and were pleasantly surprised by the full sound of the organ and stunning acoustics of the building. We were unable to follow the rituals in French, but it did not detract from the richness of the experience. One cannot help to sense some measure of 'holy place'.

This Cathedral is a magnificent example of multiple architecture styles in Toulouse. It is over 800 years old and is filled with stunning stained glass windows and beautiful sculptures. It's a peaceful and serene space, perfect for quiet contemplation or simply admiring the beauty of the building. The history behind this place is also impressive. A must-visit for those in Toulouse.

Amazing cathedral in the historic center of the "ville rose", Toulouse. A catholic - roman edifice, with unknown date of construction, as first traces are from 1071, but then it is believed that it has been renovated! It's just near the Prefecture of Haute Garrone county, which has been installed in the old Episcopal Palace. Beautiful gardens around and a nice neighbouring. Not far away from it, you can find the Augustin Museum, a MUST SEE either!

Arcybishop Isarn built the nave in a Romanesque style in the early 11th century. In the early 13th century, Bishop Foulques began the works of the new nave. The next bishop Bertrand decided to transform the cathedral, he began the construction of the new choir by creating 15 radiating pentagonal chapels. Next modification were in 15th century. Arcybishop Pierre paved the way for the large flamboyant portal and opened the baptismal font to the left. So today this cathedral has different styles.

Seat of the Archbishop of Toulouse. Original cathedral is Romanesque dating from the early 13th c., but when that architecture style was abandoned for the Gothic style, a second cathedral was started in that style. The Romanesque part was intended to be knocked down and the new Gothic cathedral built over the former but the money simply ran out, so the two cathedrals currently stand side-by-side. It gave me mixed feelings looking at it. Get the best look at the disconcerting architecture from the west entrance. The oldest stained glass in Toulouse is in the St. Vincent de Paul chapel (13th c.), and the nave is the oldest part of the cathedral (originally built 1078).

(Translated by Google) Totally atypical cathedral. The current nave was to be the heart of the cathedral, but unfinished. The beauty and height of this part make you dizzy when you think of the initial project (see in particular the imposing pillars), if it had been completed. You can also admire a superb altarpiece at the end of the nave and, all around the latter, magnificent chapels. Another singularity, part of the old cathedral, in a different style, is "linked" to the new cathedral, in an offset axis!

We've arrived there on a Sunday atound midday and loved it.The architecture, the beautiful green nature, the flowers inside and outside, really nice, but what I liked most was the fact that people from the community were sharing food for brunch and drinking wine, kids and dogs were running around. It looked just like in the movies. I've genuinely fell for the atmosphere there. Really nice experience.

I have to be honest, I really enjoy visiting old churches. This Cathedral is really well preserved and obviously used regularly to this day. The relics, painting, small chapels, etc made this visit really worth while. The Choir is one of the best examples I have seen. The wood carved seating was really interesting in that every seat was different than the one next to it. Like many throughout Europe this is a large, old church that is beautiful and is filled with artwork and history.

Whether you're religious or not, Saint Etienne's is definitely worth a visit. Historically it's one of the oldest cathedrals in France, the location dating bank to 877! It's truly a remarkable fete of architecture and a special place to visit, with or without kids. No cost involved.
